Heard back from Waterfield this morning - I'm in batch #10. Updated shipping is now the week of 2/15.
awesome! I ordered on 1/12/21 and I was in Batch #10. It says what batch they are up to on the ordering page when you order.
Yeah, looks like we'll be getting ours shipped out the week of 2/15 (a little better than the 2/19 on the website)!

Firstly, I’d like to clarify this post in saying that I love my WaterField case and would recommend it to anyone who wants a very high quality and beautiful case for the APM’s.
Having said that, I have noticed an issue with mine, and I wonder if anyone else on this thread has the same issue, or could please test this out.

Essentially, if my APM’s are left in the WaterField case for an extended period of time, without the Apple Smartcase and with the butterfly magnets in the upright position, the headphones do not wake up when taken out of the case.
No amount of button pushes or anything will turn them on. The only way to get them working again, is to plug them into the power briefly until the light comes on (couple of seconds) and then they work fine again.
Gary at WaterField is being brilliant as expected, but they’re unable to replicate the issue at the office.
Could anyone with that case please test this. They APM’s need to be in there for about 20 hours plus for this to occur and please let me know.
Of the thousands they have sold, they have only had 4 people contact them with the issue so it is far from common but the more feedback we can get, the easier it will be for Gary to find out what is causing this.

Is it possible that the smartness of the Apple bra-case goes beyond just something as basic as magnets, which is why the waterfield is having problems?

I haven't had this issue. I have an early run of the case (leather version); received it towards the end of January. I use the Waterfield case by itself (no Smartcase) with the butterfly magnets up, just as you describe, and the APM have always woken up when brought near my iPhone with one or two exceptions, where I pressed the ANC/Transparency button to cause them to wake up and connect. This is after short (less than 24 hours) and multi-day periods between uses.. I can't remember whether I pressed the button because they didn't wake up immediately and I didn't want to wait, or the headphones truly would not wake up, but in either case pressing that button would wake up the headphones immediately and cause them to connect with the phone. Battery drain appears normal - 8-12%/24 hours (or less) with occasional use and stored in the case.
I hope you are able to sort out your issues. I'm in the "add power on/off functionality to one of the two existing buttons" camp, but I haven't had any issues with my headphones so far.
Looks like batch #10 is now shipping!!!! No shipping info from Waterfield yet, but their website updated!
Got the iPad cas by pad & quill. Needed a case for my brothers APMs as a gift and when I ordered my Waterfield had not come in. I dislike this case. The APMS are not protected well. There is no easy way to grab it, basically you are grabbing the headband. No real extra pockets to store brick and corde. It also looks awful. I packaged it and sent it right back. I really like my Waterfield case. Also ordered the case from amazon. Not bad, will probably gift that to my brother. He already got my first APMS so don’t think he needs another expensive item from me
My Waterfield case shipped Thursday, but currently delivery exception and pending as of yesterday which is weird considering they were scheduled for Monday( unless they rescheduled for early delivery, but then due to weather couldn't). Unless the delay in deliveries on Saturday due to weather caused a one day slip of all packages.
