anyone that ordered with Best Buy on the 22nd get any movement on delivery? Mine shows shipped from Best Buy with Ontrac but the tracking number is a USPS one. It shows nothing with Ontrac and USPS shows only that a label was created. I am seeing a lot of bad reviews for Ontrac with these types of deliveries.

I did but I called Best Buy to get the tracking # because they did not give the tracking #. But I have had good experience with ONTRAC in the past.

I can get silver or space grey any day of the week but I’m holding out for blue. There’s just none in the UK and I have a March 12 delivery date from Apple.
I would’ve thought that Apple would’ve ramped up demand for the blue as so many people want that colour. Now Christmas is over I think we might start to see blue coming through the distribution network
Where are you finding these silver and SG? Thanks!

Those who got APM already: how do they sound comparing to AirPods Pro. The reviews are hard to digest without trying and I have no other reference point. Consider this as my first investment (after APP, which were mostly for convenience) in to good music experience. Still waiting a pair from Apple.com (24 Feb) but start getting cold feet.

If your only point-of-reference are the AirPods Pro, it's going to be a significant upgrade. You won't want to take them off. Pros are by far the most convenient, but you'll periodically readjust them in your ears to keep the seal tight, and they're quite good but never amazing. The Max could stand to be a little louder, and they're definitely not skull crushing bass, but you won't regret it - they will be noticeably better than your Pros.

Why does the UK have so much stock of SG/Silver? Literally nothing over on this side... Either the US market is hotter or they over-saturated the UK market?

If you’re getting APM for sound quality, you’re misguided. There are far better, wired headphones for half the price. Check out the Hifiman lineup for audiophile-grade sound and very affordable prices. I would not consider APMs an “investment into good music experience.” They’re slightly better than average, consumer mid-grade headphones.

If you’re wanting fantastic, wireless ANC headphones with top-of-the-line comfort, industry-leading transparency mode, and full Apple ecosystem integration, then APMs are a good choice. Still pretty expensive for what they are though...

I had HORRIBLE experiences with HiFiman products btw, and there have been fakes circulating around which is a common problem for that brand.

i have a pair of HD650's and magnetic planars from Audeze and prefer the APM due to comfort, better sound stage, less fatiguing when it comes to the sound, better distortion mitigation.

i just wish the APM's were usable when wired and not needing the battery to continue using it when wired.

Well, YMMV. Audio, in the end, comes down to taste. Many variables with wired hifi headphones—source compression, preamp, amp, etc. Far fewer with Bluetooth headphones. I don’t doubt that they do what they do well.

We will never be able to separate the brand from the product at this point. I’d love to hear someone’s blind review of a five headphone lineup, not knowing that the APMs were even included.

I'd like to know as well. I can't find anyone here in Riverside, CA that has any in stock, and my order from the Apple Store is more than a month out.

Not sure but it’s the only colours that we seem to get. Space Grey abd Silver. They are available in 4 Apple stores within 50 miles of me. Stocks are also available in third party stores as well. But not once have I seen any stocks of green, pink or blue. I would’ve thought that you guys in the states would’ve had plenty of stock of silver and grey

Plenty of Apple U.K. stores have had stock available for the last two weeks so either they are receiving regular supplies or not selling and I can’t see that happening as the U.K. is Apples biggest market in Europe with more stores than any other country.
I have never seen any other colours aside from the silver and grey though which is very strange.

Bang for buck, the choice is easily the AirPods Pro, no question and I think a very high percentage of folks would agree. There isn’t anything they can’t do that I personally need and again I feel a very percentage of folks would also agree.

With the number of people reporting disconnects and battery drains for the Max, this product was obviously rushed to market without sufficient testing. Perhaps a significant software update will reduce the issues.
The Pros work really well but the issues with the Pro’s is the quality of the hardware which isn’t brilliant. I have lost count of the number of replacement units I’ve had since launch day because of eventual crackling and rattling

The Argos store in Kinnaird Retail Park in Edinburgh has silver Airpods Max in stock at the moment. I just wanted to post this in case it may help someone who would prefer to buy from Argos.

12/24 7:30pm when t-mobile sent me an email they are getting my order ready. Yeah right.

Anyone order after that time from t-mobile and actually get theirs? Maybe cause I want SG but retailers not having stock and accumulating orders bugs the heck out of me. Don't they know the customer is misled and probably will not deal with them in the future? C’mon man, lol.

When did you replace yours Pro last time? I bought AirPods Pro at launch and have exactly the same problem. Slight cracking sound at high volume in the left pod. Not consistent, just in some songs with deep bass. I let it go, thinking I want too much from earbuds. But then it became really annoying and I’ve replaced left one with no problem in the store after about 8 months. With the new left pod I’ve noticed that right has the same issue, just more subtle. Replaced that one and since then all was fine. I’ve read that many complained about it, but I guess Apple fixed it. So even if this was rushed, which does feel like that, I have all confidence if you have any issues Apple will replace the whole unit with no extra cost. It is no good to lose some time waiting for the replacement, but in return you get a brand new battery in the unit.

Cell companies are like cable companies. They’ll screw you because your options are limited.

Two months ago but I’m not sure if they are the revised model or not. They’re working really well at the moment and seal every time and I’ve had no crackling issues with them but we will see how things go.
