If you’re getting APM for sound quality, you’re misguided. There are far better, wired headphones for half the price. Check out the Hifiman lineup for audiophile-grade sound and very affordable prices. I would not consider APMs an “investment into good music experience.” They’re slightly better than average, consumer mid-grade headphones.

If you’re wanting fantastic, wireless ANC headphones with top-of-the-line comfort, industry-leading transparency mode, and full Apple ecosystem integration, then APMs are a good choice. Still pretty expensive for what they are though...
I’m getting for a mixed used. I don’t have high demands for quality. Any upgrade from AirPods Pro, which already are good but I think a bit flat, will be welcomed. But also for Bluetooth convenience, ANC and phone calls. Since all this working from home the last two are very important all of a sudden.

When did you replace yours Pro last time? I bought AirPods Pro at launch and have exactly the same problem. Slight cracking sound at high volume in the left pod. Not consistent, just in some songs with deep bass. I let it go, thinking I want too much from earbuds. But then it became really annoying and I’ve replaced left one with no problem in the store after about 8 months. With the new left pod I’ve noticed that right has the same issue, just more subtle. Replaced that one and since then all was fine. I’ve read that many complained about it, but I guess Apple fixed it. So even if this was rushed, which does feel like that, I have all confidence if you have any issues Apple will replace the whole unit with no extra cost. It is no good to lose some time waiting for the replacement, but in return you get a brand new battery in the unit.
Apple claims all pro buds made after October 2020 won’t have that problem. I have replaced many buds already and the one I’ve gotten since Oct has been good. The one I have that was older than that may be starting to fail tho

Target is the way to go. Just keep checking throughout the day and refresh. I kept seeing silver numerous times without even trying hard. Finally snagged Space Grey and they arrived today. Sometimes even you have the strikeout thing thru the headphone, if you click of the color you want it may be in stock!

Btw I don't have anything I can plug the USB C cable into ... can I charge them with a regular old school lightning cable to wall or to my PC?

I can cancel but I want pink w/ engraving
Ugh I'm in the same boat. I really want to hold out for the pink (mine are scheduled for Feb 19th-March 5th from Apple- hoping that gets moved up. I've been super tempted by the space gray that randomly become available but I think they're pretty boring so if I'm going to spend the cash, I'd rather get the ones that I really want.

Anyone else play around with the Accessibility settings? I turned Headphone accommodations on to "Vocal range" as other ppl have been saying.. and these sound much better at least on the iPhone. I guess this won't affect plugging it into my PC however.

Managed to snag a pair of SG APMs from target.com with free 2-day delivery. I just had a tab open and would refresh every 30min or so. Missed one that I put in my cart and disappeared, but nabbed another when it came up a few hours later. Seems like Target has stock or is reselling cancelled orders or something. Keep your eyes peeled.

It would be interesting to see if anyone here have the same problem. It looks like a hoax on the internet. Surely other headphones must have the same issue.
Cancelled mine as was from a retailer and won’t have the 14 day return, will see when I can get from Apple later.

I don’t believe the condensation issue to be a hoax at all. Will depend on the individual and their respective climate. There is also an issue with the current firmware causing severe battery drain on some units (which seems fixable via a factory reset). However, Apple has always stood by their products for me and I remain confident that they will address any issues as they arise.

I hope I do not eat my foot 😛

Got mine at 8am this morning (thanks DPD!) have had them on since whilst catching up on work emails.

as a MASSIVE fan of the Sony’s, these definitely are a notch above. Comfort wise I’d say they’re on par, for me at least. However the headband on the APM really is impressive. I can’t feel it at all, and I’m usually super sensitive to this!

sound wise - they’re just a lot more balanced than the Sony’s and much to my liking (which is important to take into consideration).

are they worth £549? Probably not to be fair, however they are better than their cheaper competition and the integration and convenience with my Mac, iPad and iPhone and seamless switching makes them compelling enough for me to keep. Especially as I often flick between the 3 for teams calls, slack calls, Skype calls and also music / YouTube during work.

in summary, I have just put my Sony’s up for sale on eBay!

Anyone cancelling because of the moisture issue?

I don't think it is a hoax. But only discovered since the ear cushions are removable. Do the XM4's and Bose 700's product condensation after awhile in the same climate/time used is the real question. We don't know since their ear cushions are not easily removable as the APM's.

EDIT: One person says he gets it with his XM3's. If you always go off what forums say about products before you buy, you will never buy anything because all you see will be the issues people have with said product. While it is nice to know the common issues to look out for, doesn't mean it is a defect.

Thanks so much for this! I been trying and trying through this link https://mysupport.apple.com/add-coverage/producttypes and it was constantly rejecting my serial number (Purchased from Argos) - It's worked now via your link, I'm covered :)
And thanks to @FirePak from me, too. I bought my AirPods from John Lewis and couldn't seem to add AppleCare.

Incidentally, this is the first time I've bought AppleCare. The APM strike me as the most vulnerable Apple product I've bought. The mesh at the top seems to be crying out to get ripped.

Yea same here. First time getting Applecare for one of my apple products. I bought a waterfield case but wanted Applecare just in case the mesh gets damaged.

Yes, the consensus around here is - if you want them fast, watch target.com and get them there, or find them at your local Apple store.
