Maybe, but not much... I've gone MONTHS between charges on my (now sold) Bose NC700. Sounds like the absolute best we can hope for on the APM is a week to 10 days. It needs a power button!
"I can only go 1 week instead of months without charging my bluetooth headphones"...possibly the pinnacle of First World Problems?

Interesting take from Hi-Fi Insider about the technology inside the APM. Suggests that APM are underpriced?!?

No it doesn't. We charge our phones overnight instead of shutting them off don't we? Charge it once a week, not so difficult.

Not a single one will drain nearly as quickly and stupidly as a pair of headphones that never power down.
If it drains in couple hours that would be stupid. If it drains over a week, not a problem. I charge my Powerbeats Pro every day. Not an issue really.

As I mentioned earlier (not sure if it was in this thread or not though), I rarely if ever actually have to specifically charge my phone, as it gets charged sufficiently just during the course of my normal time in the car (hooked up to CarPlay). And I get something of value by having my phone on all the time (the ability for people to be able to reach me).

That being said, I do recognize Apple's intent here... they believe that it's an impediment to the user experience to have to turn headphones on before you can use them. And, to be fair, it IS indeed nice to just be able to grab them at any time and not have to turn them on, which will at least partially outweigh the need to have to charge more often than I did with my old headphones.

None of the Apple products I own, Mac, iPhone, iPad, watch, powerbeats pro, are ever off. Yes some of them can be shut down but they are never shut down. We live in an always on, periodic charging lifestyle. I don't think we will be surprised if eventually the iPhone loses the on/off button as well.

Here is another great review with some APB frequency response quirks explained for the first time. Very negative review but that doesn't stop it from being great. Just ordered what he identified as better bluetooth headphones, the AKG-362BT from Staples for $115. Free returns until Jan 25th - Amazon was $4 less, but not Prime and no return policy to be found.

So these headphones don't check as many boxes as the Apple ones, but I don't need ANC or transparency, and spatial audio doesn't work on my MacBook (not about to watch movies on my iPhone Mini). If they are close on sound and comfort, I've just saved over $400.

interesting review. Im sticking with the AirPods pros and Sony 1000mx4s for now. Ill wait until Apple releases a second generation.

As a former AKG owner, I would suggest searching reviews for the headphones you're considering. I've had 2 earlier pairs where the headband cracks in the plastic parts and over times falls apart, making the inner metal band break though and making the headphones useless. Have a friend who experienced the same, which indicates it must been a construction fault, but I wasn't able to get any compensation.

So just a suggestion before you invest in the brand, I loved the audio of my AKG back then, but was really let down by the bad quality of the plastic parts. Went to Sony XM2 from AKG which I didn't regret. :)

That is why I paid extra for the returnability. It will be quite interesting if I prefer the AKG at about a fifth of the cost of APMs.

Seeing all the reviews, I feel like this will be amazing after the second or third revision and may justify the high cost. As such, it is a good headphone with premium build that will make many users perfectly happy. Nothing wrong with that but I’ll pass for now.
