(... Hopefully this is fixed in a software update, because it definitely seems like a bug.

Inexplicably still no AirPods section in Apple's feedback site, but this is a periodic reminder for people to submit feedback here:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/

... and not just here in the forums. (One hopes/assumes putting AirPods in the subject line of iPhone or MBP feedback would have it forwarded to the right people.)

Good call, I will do that right now!

Does anyone's AirPods stutter a little when getting notifications on the iPhone? Sometimes it happens when using certain apps too
I'm having this issue especially when switching apps or when switching between wifi and cellular

How are these for using in bed? I listen to a ton of audiobooks to go to sleep, and sometimes binaural beat apps. Currently I use Jaybird F5's which are pretty awesome, but the wire is a bit of a pain, but I can completely lay my head sideways on my pillow and it doesn;'t affect the headphones at all. Will the apple ones fall out, or stick out too far and hurt if I were to lay my head down on a pillow? The design looks much too precarious and if they are like the wired apple headphones just gravity would make those fall out.

Mine does this. It actually worse if the notification comes through to my Apple Watch as, on several occasions, as soon as the notification came through, the Aipods would drop connection.

I've slept with my AirPods a few times times. They haven't come off yet nor do they hurt or affect sound quality when sleeping against a pillow. I probably wouldn't sleep with it often unless I'm willing to wake up to (nearly) dead AirPods.

The touch point is at the top of the AirPods.. two solid quick taps (not light not super strong) brings it up for me efficiently . I use to have this problem till I figured this out now it works fine .
I own them since Dec. 22 and I've tried this daily. Usually it works only after the third try.
Anyway, my support case (regarding SIRI sound and charging) is still open.
So far there's no solution available from Apple.
My last day to return the AirPods is Jan 8. Looks like that I will do that and order new ones.

Mu frustration grows. The Airpods connect without issues 50% of the time. Today when I tried to use them I finally got "this is not your airpods, press the button on the back to connect them".
What is going on?

Some more experience on battery life: a phone call of just over an hour consumed a little over 50% of battery.

Have you tried to reset the AirPods? Place the AirPods in the case, open the lid and hold down the button on the back of the case until the indicator light blinks amber a few times. After that pair them again with your device.

Apple promises 2 hours of talk time at 50% volume.

Phone calling and listening to audio are going to be two separate battery use metrics. Two hours is about what most are getting for phone calls. 4-5 hours for listening to audio.

I don't think you'll get that feature when connected to vanilla bluetooth. (pre-Sierra or pre-iOS10)

Except it does seem to work with ATV 4, which connects via vanilla bluetooth - and since I can double tap to play/pause, the AirPods are clearly capable of sending the command - not sure why the proximity sensor wouldn't do this with every device, regardless of iOS10/Sierra or not.

Yesterday was the first standard day back at the office since getting the AirPods. I awoke without charging overnight and threw them in my bag. Streamed KEXP all morning with a call or two and nearly drained pods. Stuck them in the case that had partial charge over lunch. After lunch fully charged pods lasted me the rest of the afternoon. Pulled out AirPods this morning and they were full and the case is running a little low. Streaming now for a few hours so I guess I'll plug in the case. Looks like I'll have to charge every few days if I am using them heavily.

Seems to work pretty well for me.

Thank you for letting everyone know that. Many of us were in the misinformation of these actually being a good product.
Even with the problems that I experience I find them a great product.
A new product might face issues. But Apple is great in fixing those quickly.

I've had a few instances where the sound cuts out for a split-second, but only when they are in my front pocket and I am walking. I think this may be a bit of an issue with my phone which I am currently hoping last until the 8 comes out. I have a 6 which has been dropped too many times, and quite frankly, I'm surprised it still works.

I bought them for the gym but now use them as my everyday headphones. They are great at work as I can just take one pod out of my ear if someone comes to talk to me or the phone rings and my music pauses, then starts again when I put the pod back in my ear.

Using Siri for music functions has worked fine. I don;t change my volume much, so I haven't had to do that with Siri. I generally use only two volume levels: low ambient noise (approx 30%) and high ambient noise (approx 75%). That could be a new feature: ambient noise detection and auto volume adjust.

They are so comfy I find myself checking occasionally to check they are both still there.

The AirPod case is small enough to carry around, but as I read on the train I pop the pods in the case then, and when I shower after my workout, so I haven't run out of juice yet.

I think, if I would like a new feature (apart from the ambient noise thing I mentioned above), it would be programmable (or pre-programmed) tap sequence functions: 1 for Siri, 2 for next, and 3 for previous maybe.

I've paired my Airpods to my work machine, a MacBook Pro with Yosemite. Can't upgrade the OS without IT approval, and even if I was on Sierra, I'm not comfortable leaving my iCloud credentials on my work machine.

Anyway, when I remove my Airpods, they disconnect from my Mac, and then whatever I'm listening to starts to play through my speakers. Either music or sports talk radio.

As I'm in a "bullpen" style office, this is annoying and now I have to remember to mute or pause before taking out the Airpods.

Is there any sort of Bluetooth setting on the Mac to make the audio stop playing all together when the pods are disconnected -- rather than pipe through the speakers?

Otherwise I may just keep a headphone jack plugged into my machine at all times (maybe even cut the cord?), so any audio that "leaks" out won't be heard by my co-workers.

Thanks for any tips or solutions.

macOS should remember volume for each audio device. Set the volume for internal speakers to zero and it should remember that when ever it switches back to internal speakers from your AirPods or other device.

Yeah, really bad to be honest. Also, if that notification goes to my Apple Watch instead, the interference is pretty bad and sometimes the AirPod connection drops and disconnects. It irritating me so much that I'm returning mine tomorrow. We have another pair of AirPods in our household and those don't disconnect or stutter. My first set crackled from the left AirPod. This set disconnects and sufferes from interference. The other set of AirPods were set up on my own iPhone and they're prefect and don't suffer from any problems at all. There's clearly a quality issue on these things.

So far everything is good, other than the hit and miss with the double tap. I pop in the left pod when I leave the house in the morning and keep it in until I get home. At that point, I switch, and put the left one back in the case. I plug the case in overnight, same as all my other Apple stuff.

Did you ever test the stuttering ones on a different device, like an iPad? Mine work flawlessly on my iPad Pro but not my iPhone
