I'm a total Bluetooth newbie. If I pair my new AirPods with my current iPhone 6 and then get a new iPhone 7 next week, what do I need to do? Do they need to be physically unpaired or will iCloud delete the old iPhone as soon as I sign out of iCloud on the old iPhone? Thanks.

Cool tip for Apple Watch owners

I just noticed you can check your AirPods battery life under the battery complication. Pretty neat :p

Just received one of two orders and this pair looks like they are coming apart at the seams. Never seen Apple do work like this before. I unboxed (did a live stream just a few moments ago) Them and notice the seams look as though the units are not well put together... one looks flushed and you cannot really see the seam on the top of it, but the other clearly looks like there is a gap. both have seam splits.
These Definitely will be going back...

Seems several people already got them, but no one has posted pictures of them and I am curious to see the main reason why I haven't ordered any it because I think they may look silly but maybe I am wrong maybe they will grow on me...pics please

They are the same as EarPods with out a cable, I'm curious how a piece of wire makes something not look silly. Sure they look different but I suspect over time as more cordless buds from all the manufactures hit the market they will look no more abnormal than conventional buds look now.

After reading the responses from actual owners, I gather the AirPods experience is different for Apple Watch owners as opposed to non-watch owners. I always use my watch to control my music on my phone. I never use the controls on the EarPods, nor do I use Siri. The main reason I want the AirPods is for when I get a call, I press the green button on my watch and just say "Hello." From what I am reading, I will be able to do that quite easily. So, it looks like my only problem with AirPods is availability.

They work great with the Apple Watch.

wear a headband around your ears when you sleep with them on...
You're a genius. I see a resurgence in those 70's terry cloth tennis headbands ;)

Question: When you guys have music playing and take both airpods out (R+L), the airpods pause. When you put both back in, do they automatically "turn on" and start playing music again? Just asking, because mine resume when I take one out and put that one back in, but if I take both off and then put both back on, they don't resume. Also, when I first take them out of the case and put them in, they don't play anything. Just want to know if that's supposed to be the case, or I am doing something wrong.
Yes take one out it pauses take both out it stops and you need to either press play or have Siri start it.

One of mine has that seem real bad too and the pod with the real bad seem happens to be the only one of the two that irritates my ear. Coincidence?

Went out for my first run & kick of the football (soccer ball) today. These Airpods remained snug in my ears despite the sprinting, jumping, shot taking, skipping, ball dribbling etc. - I tend to keep moving whilst exercising so it was a pretty thorough test of their design/fit.

I had my phone in a cooler bag to test the range whilst running around, which I soon realised was a mistake - insulation of the bag killed the reception at ~5m...

Took the phone out of the bag & the reliable range was at about 14-20m (placing it next to the cooler bag would've decreased the range from one side as the bag was in the way), which was a little surprising as the working range at gym was ~25m.

It was a hot day though & I'm not sure if the phone heating up impacts its Bluetooth range?

Still, for the most part, they impressed again, especially their fit.

EDIT...Just realised that since I signed up to Spotify's Premium service today, that I'd boosted the streaming quality to Extreme, which may be why I was getting a 14-20m range as oppose to the 25m range (when on the free & hence lower streaming quality version of Spotify).

I'll need to test again at the lower Streaming quality....

Thanks for the reply. Means I definitely need to return them. I lined up in order to get them, ended up buying in one of Apple Official reseller that was charging 60 USD premium because it was in limited quantity... And now I will actually need to wait again...
Anybody else having this issue of 1 airpod only working?

I just used my airpods for a phone call for just about 2 hours and 20 minutes. Had 5% battery left at the end. Perfect!! If I would have used just one earplug at a time it would have been possible to chat for more than four hours, kinda forever since I could have charged the other one then...

But since I used both together I had to tell my girlfriend we have to stop chatting now because I have to charge the AirPods... LOL

No interruptions at all just a constant perfect connection. Even WhatsApp didn't drop the call...
Perfect without the wires and being able to walk around without carrying the phone...

You know, I honestly think this is why Apple designed them in the first place. And for utility, the ability to use them as stereo headphones. Think about it, why did they invent the iPhone? Because they all hated their blackberries. Apple already made a stab at a companion BT headset, and the market responded with as good as, or better than what they offered. No BT headset on the market can compete with these AirPods.

The reason I say this, is because Apple hasn't yet improved the audio quality. They could have licensed Aptx, but they didn't. So my guess is they are working on something -- but in the meantime, this isn't a solution for people who care about the quality of their music -- and there are for sure employees at Apple who care about that -- rather this is the perfect solution for phone calls, especially the charging handoff. I only wish they weren't L/R specific so I could buy a third Airpod and rotate it so I always had a fully charged pair. It would be cool if Apple eventually updates the design so they know which side of your head you've inserted them on, and automatically adjusts for L/R orientation -- think how much easier that will be.

Anyone have a rattle case lid? When the top is closed you can move it from side to side a little. It's not very Apple like.

Same thought. Which is why I'm holding back the purchase

What do you mean by that -- that the ear tips will change shape to fit the ear it is in? ????

I get problems every time I get a phone call, I get the "paired" sound from the Airpods but not the call itself.
If I fiddle with the settings I sometimes get sound in one of the EarPods.

How do you find that? It doesn't show up on my watch.
It should show up when the AirPods are connected either your iPhone or your Watch. Try restarting your iPhone and Watch if you aren't seeing it.

Majority of wireless communication happens over 2.4GHz. So if you have wireless routers (WiFi) or other wireless transmitters near by those can cause interference with each other. Also devices like microwave ovens, USB hard drives might send 2.4GHz frequencies causing interference with 2.4GHz devices.

Safety would be an other major reason. Driving while having your ears plugged isn't the smartest idea in the world and the same goes if you are walking/biking among other people/traffic.

This happens to me too and I was walking outdoor. Only interfering thing I can think of is wifi network of house nearby or my Apple Watch. Very disappointing.
