Maybe there is a workaround? If you pair the case just with one Airpod and than again with an other iPhone?
I would imagine the problem is that the two AirPods communicate with each other as well. So whenever one would connect to a phone, the other one would then connect to the same phone. That is, assuming you can even pair them one at a time.

I once managed to set the Pods so that one played music from MBA and the other one played music from Watch.

I have noticed that there is sometimes some weird issues if you take one Pod out, close the lid and then pair the Pod to another device. Like, once I took one Pod out, paired it to my MBA and after a while took the second one out as well. But as I did that they both paired back to my iPhone, which was the device I had them previously paired to.

So if you want to try to pair them to separate devices: take one Pod out, pair to a device, put it back in the case, take the other Pod out, close lid, pair to another device and see what happens when you take the other one out.

My AirPods were almost flawless for two weeks but now I'm getting connection drops from my MBP all the time. The only thing that changed was that last night I noticed, in the Sound control panel, that the sound output to my AirPods was imbalanced. After I adjusted the balance to be equal, I started getting drops. Very weird.

I certainly never set my AirPods' output to be imbalanced, so I assume it was a factory setting. I've tried forgetting and re-pairing the AirPods, but it doesn't seem like they're actually forgotten (i.e., the old settings seem to stick — when I re-pair them, my custom AirPods name pops up again).

Hoping for the first AirPods and/or software update soon.

Hi,
I did wait a couple of weeks of intensive use before reporting back (home listening, commuting, running, flights, calls, ...).
what i can say...:
- easy to pair, worked on all devices with my iCloud account immediately. The iphone switches to the AirPods automatically when they are on, on other devices i need to select them as sound output, and that worked 100% of the cases so far. i whist the switch would be automatic, maybe with software upgrade
- sound quality is great in a silent environment (for that type of small earphones of course), good for street use, acceptable on a very short flight at best. they don't isolate from ambiant noice, which i like, and i switch to my Shure 535 during flights (pushing volume up is a bad solution to ambiant noise..). There is more bass than on EarPods and the highs seem brighter and better controlled. i'm pleased with the sound but if SQ is your obsession, there is of course better value for money (wired).
- battery has been great so far, more than 5 hours of music, a little more than 2 hours on calls, and very fast recharge.
- calls quality is great, sometimes a cracking sound, but overall i can hear very well and people seem to hear me well too
- i had a 2sec connection drop while playing music, in T5 at London Heathrow, where you probably have the max level of interference possible... but that is it in 3 weeks of intensive use.
- i use them for running, their fit is the same as the EarPods, great for me, but everyone is different...
- i which there would be a menu in settings in IOS (to change your preference on double tapping, ...), going to the BT menu, clicking on the "i" near your device is not great, and you have to do that on all devices if you want the same settings everywhere
- i find them a little hard to grab from the case
- not having wires is a much nicer improvement than what i would have thought.
Overall a very happy experience so far...

Anyone else use iCatcher for podcasts?

I'm having a problem where double tapping for Siri and saying Pause doesn't successfully pause playback. It says "I paused it", but as soon as iCatcher regains focus, it turns Play back on. The auto playback function of iCatcher is turned OFF.

I suspect this is a bug with the app, but looking for confirmation/sanity check.

Quoting myself here to bring this forward. Am I really the only one who uses iCatcher for podcasts?

If so--can anyone recommend another iOS podcast app that will allow me to skip forward using normal transport controls? (i.e., saying 'skip forward' in siri, or using buttons on whatever playback device I'm using). The last time I used the native iOS app it didn't respond to skip controls.

Again, the problem here is that the iCatcher app will resume playback as soon as the app regains focus after you say "Siri, pause". I assume it's a bug with the app, even though I have 'auto playback' turned off. Audible etc are fine.

This low level white noise when people are talking seems to have got worse. When nobody is talking its perfectly silent, but as soon as people start to talk there's an audible noise.

Have a Genius Bar appointment for next Monday.

I share your experience. It's pretty liberating not having a cord catching on...everything + the fact that they're so light, but I think having the earlobes that suit is a major factor to whether you enjoy these or not...

As for removing them from the case, I also found the slight body oils/sweat made them a bit slippery, but found the first method in the below video handy to pry them out...

Here's the original with better detail...

My AirPods were almost flawless for two weeks but now I'm getting connection drops from my MBP all the time.

I've been using my crotchets with the MBP most of the day today, and have been getting a few drop-outs, about once every 15-30 minutes. It is very brief but quite jarring, because most of the time left and right drop out in quick succession. I believe whenever it happened it was due to a peak in activity on the MBP. Perhaps macOS needs to prioritise the threads dealing with BT audio delivery over other stuff a bit more.

I've had mine, since Christmas Eve and in the last week or two, they have been dropping calls and phone call goes back to phone earpiece. I don't lose the call, EarPods just drop connection sometimes it come back otherwise it doesn't and says not connected in Bluetooth settings. Have forgot and restored connection to IPhone 6s Plus about 3 times, also have a AW series 2.

Try restarting your iOS device. That helped me.

Is anyone else experiencing battery drains of the case?

The airpods themselves work flawlessly (about 5-6 hours of battery life with medium volume), but the case drops about 1%/hour (sometimes 2) even if I am not using it and my iPhone is nowhere near it.

Any solution to that? :/

I think I lost my airpods :(.

Not just a single airpod, but the entire case with both of them inside.

I used them this morning. tossed the case in my backpack, & off I went. Only, I dropped my backpack & thought I collected everything, but now I'm not finding them...... Hopefully, I tossed them in the car.

Really bummed, but it's my own fault.

My question is can you have multiple airpods paired to a phone? I know I'm not going to be able to unpair, (but I'm assuming that isn't necessary. )

Thanks

You can unpair them (or any paired BT device) any time in Settings > Bluetooth. Click on the (i) symbol next to AirPods and "Forget This Device"

[doublepost=1484700913][/doublepost]Has anyone experience cracking of their ear pieces. Both of mine have small line fractures or cracks. I don't remember them failing at all. I am thinking this is some stress cracking from the molding process revealing itself.

Or are these seam lines where dirt is collecting? Each earpiece has these lines in different places.

I have the exact same problem - iPhone 6s Plus and Apple Watch Series 2. It drops connection, and as you state, sometimes it will reconnect immediately, sometimes not. Occasionally, music will just pause too without disconnecting.
I tried my other iPhone, (5s) and this worked flawlessly was no drops or pauses.
Reading these forums. The common factor here is the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus.

I have a bit of an issue I'm wondering if anyone else is having?

I'll open the case, the headphones will then as expected connect to my iPhone. I will then put one headphone in and will (95% of the time) hear the confirmation sound. When I then go and put the other AirPod in my ear, I get no sound confirmation?

The confirmation tone means you're connected. Remember you can play with just one AirPod so you don't get the tone when you place the 2nd one in your ear.

The confirmation tone only sounds once for me. I believe it's by design.

Sometimes only the second inserted pod makes the alert, but it mostly the first pod. If I only use one and later add the second, it joins the connection without a sound.

If both are inserted before I manually connect to a device, they both play the tone.

I like the AirPods' alert sound much better than my previous headsets that said "connected" very loudly. It's always reassuring to get confirmation where the source audio is going to play. I don't like people on the train to hear my choice of morning music.

Has anyone else noticed how crazy good the Bluetooth is on the Airpods? I work in an old cinderblock building. I can't even get from my classroom to the hall and keep my Watch connected if I leave my phone on my desk. The Airpods, OTOH, allow me to walk down the hall and around the corner without losing the connection. IMPRESSIVE!!!

I love the AirPods but the bluetooth connection is so bad sometimes, half the song is cut out by stutters or just no sound at all due to drop in connection. Happens at home, on the subway, at the office. I can't isolate the issue. I've tried putting my apple watch in airplane mode, turning wifi off and nothing helps. I have the ATT 7+, so maybe it's the intel modem?

Must be something with my devices if some people are experiencing perfect connection.
