Does anyone's charging case have the hinges creaking when you push it from the sides left and right? I am wondering how durable the case is. That thing is going through thick and thin with me everywhere I go.

Mine has like a micrometre of play. I tend to not get into a habit of pushing it. Seems pretty robust thus far.

I'm dealing with phantom wires on my AirPods.

I normally run outside without music but I'm traveling and staying in a hotel in a mountainous area so I ran on the treadmill with my AirPods for the first time. When I towel off while running I feel like I'm going to hit wires when reaching around my neck but they're not there!

Anyone else experience play in the lid of the case? The lid of my case has enough play that it clicks back and forth side to side when closed. Probably not a huge deal just wondering if anyone else notices this in their case.

My case does the same. I really thought I'd broken the case and it bugs me how it moves slightly. They still work fine and there's nothing wrong with them but I'm glad it's not just my case.

I keep hearing about people using these things to work out, but how certain are we that sweat isn't damanging these things. Was at the gym yesterday and was wondering that

Has anyone else noticed a drop in sound quality esp. between Spotify and Apple Music? I use Spotify and literally thought I got a bad pair. The sound, especially at louder, deeper levels, was awful. I played the exact same song in Apple Music and it was crystal clear.

This morning my AirPods have been cutting out like crazy. They are connected to my iPhone 6, and I do have a cut out issue every once in a while, but they are unusable this morning.

After almost week of ownership, I can say that I like the Airpods however there has been some significant problems with phone calls with my iPhone 7.

I will be listening to some audio, podcast, streaming Apple Music, etc and a call will come in. The phone is vibrating so I know there is a call but there will be no audio que from the Airpods. When I try to double tap to answer the call it doesn't register and pick up the call. By the time I get to the phone in my pocket, the caller has already hung-up. Then to add insult to injury, I call the number back using Siri activated from the Airpods and when the other person speaks, it's in slow motion, robotic voice. I have to hang up and call again. Then the third time seems to be a charm with no problems.

Yeah, I own at least 4 other quality BT buds/cans and never had an issue like this before and I hope that Apple recognizes this (and other) issues and has a firmware update to address.

Anyone else having issues with calls?

TIA!

Yes, I'm experiencing similar issues. I posted earlier about it in this thread I believe. It happens making and receiving calls. I too have bt earpieces and headphones and none have this issue. I have a Moto hint and when the phone rings I can stick it in my ear and it answers the call in a very short time. When I do the same with my AirPods, usually just one, it takes what I consider an unacceptable time to connect and often times I'll miss the call. A reasonable assumption would be that when my phone rings, I should be able to take one of the AirPods out of it's charging case, put it in my ear and it answers the call or connects to the ringing and I can double tap to answer. At the moment, it's hit and miss. At this moment, I'm listening to a streaming radio program and getting ready to all a customer in a few minutes through my work phone app, ring central, that has been causing me problems the past few days. It never has with my Moto hint nor my Jaybird Freedom F5's or my Bohm B-66. I know Apple added "special sauce" to these with the W1 but it seems like they lost some sight of basic functionality with the phone side of using bluetooth for calls, even though they promoted the "beam forming" microphones. I will say those that I've asked say I sound very clear.

I loved the concept and functionality of my airpods, and though the sound wasn't near as good as my Jaybird X3, I was willing to keep the AirPods as my normal activity headset; relegating the jaybirds to my fitness related activities.

Unfortunately, now matter what I did, I could not get the AirPods to stay in my ears. They felt like they were about to fall out every 5 minutes, and would If I ignored them.

Disappointing, as I really wanted to keep them, but can't justify paying that much for a pair of headphones that require me to readjust constantly.

I guess I am in the minority with incompatible ears. I plan on trying the beatsX when they come out. They may offer the best of both worlds, and would negate the need to keep the Jaybird X3s.

Posted elsewhere, but cheap foam covers work beautifully, enhance bass and volume, and keep them in place.

I just made 3 calls with the AirPods already in my ears and all went without a hitch calling through my ring central app. Next I'll have to try and answer by picking one up and putting it in my ear. Question for others, is everyone keeping them in the charging case or are you just sitting them aside and not topping them off? When I take them out I put them in the case.

During these tests, are you attempting to make a call while an active stream (podcast, music, whatever) is currently coming thru the AirPods? Just curious, as any problem with calls has been when the AirPods were "busy" doing other audio.

Disappointing to read so many reports of in-call issues. How is the mic while under a hat? Say on a winter walk. My issues with BT buds has been call quality for whoever I'm speaking to.

I haven't had any in-call issues..PERIOD. My AirPods work great even when listening to music or when I take them from their charging case and put them in my ear, the call goes straight thru.

Just because you haven't doesn't mean you won't ever. If indeed there are problems with the 1st gen firmware, it may just be circumstance that you have not experienced the slow motion voice (which has been reported by others outside this forum), or audio not routed to devices. But hey, all is good until you miss that important call that comes in.

The mics are fantastic, better than any other bluetooth earbuds I've used and definitely better than over ear like the QC35 given the mics are directionally pointed in the right direction.

As someone who goes on "winter walks" every night of a few miles, they work beautifully. I can pause (I disabled siri) without having to adjust my hat all, just double tap the hat where the AirPod sits below.

Humm, I can't base something on what hasn't happened. What's your point?....I'm sure I wrote "I haven't had any issues"

Yes, I was. I was listening to an independent app specific to a local radio station I listen to. It will not resume play when I end the phone call. I've found only the music app will resume play when a call is ended. I'm currently listening to the Sirius/XM app now and if I take one earpiece out, unless put back in within a brief period of time, I have to open my phone and resume playing from the app, otherwise it will resume play if I take the AirPods out then put it back in in a short period of time I'd estimate to 15 seconds or less.

I guess it was your "PERIOD" which kind of implies there are no issues with these things. That's how I kinda took that. While I understand you haven't experienced any "issues", many others have and would imply there are issues Apple needs to address. Not wanting to get into a back-and-forth as it's really not worth it, a "so far, so good" is perfectly fine in terms of your experience so far. :)

Yep, there is some "quirkiness" with some 3rd party apps. I have had some flaky behavior with PocketCasts resuming play after a pause.

I didn't support removing the headphone jack at first, but I didn't realize how much I wouldn't miss it after buying these. I mean, it would be great to keep it as an option, but I wouldn't have switched to wireless if they didn't remove the headphone jack. It's a much better experience.

which I'm excited about. My question is, how do you sound to the caller, while using AirPods under a winter hat. Obviously a bit muffled, but some Mics are better than others at this.

My friends have been asking me if I've gotten a new phone because they claim I come through clearer. That's with hat on or off, doesn't appear to be a muffling effect at all (the stems stick out just slightly from under my winter hat so I presume the mics aren't being blocked at all).
