Got very lucky - it was the rare occasion I wasn't checking MacRumors every two minutes, so when I saw they had already been for sale for nearly two hours I was thinking the worst! Fortunately UK stock was very good.
Payback for the MacBook Pro? I'm in the January 12 group.

Anyone in the US received shipping confirmation with tracking that they have checked? If so, can you tell me where they are shipping from? I have a mysterious pending UPS shipment showing my "myUPS" account that I wonder if might be them, but it shows as a weight that's higher than I would expect. It's just showing as being in the "ready for shipment stage" at this point. My order still shows as pending shipment too (Scheduled for arrival 12/21).
EDIT - just looked back that the "in process" shipment I'm referencing above and realized it definitely isn't this, since I'm having the pods shipped to my work address. I guess I'll just see what arrives for me next week!

Could be just a gift from a friend. That happened to me last year when I got a surprise notice from UPS. So far no updates to my order. If it's really going to arrive 12/21 it will probably flip tomorrow or Friday.
Yup. My delivery is December 29, I checked this morning and it said 2 weeks and I was excited for a minute! Then I realized it's already December 15 and Christmas is just a week and a half away. It somehow felt farther.
That wouldn't be unprecedented. It's pretty common to hear about people receiving their shipped products even before the official release day in Apple Stores. Mine is Dec 29 so there's a little glimmer of hope in me that Apple can ship mine 5 days sooner and have it arrive Christmas Eve.
As far as I can tell, Apple always under promises on shipping and often over delivers. In the 15 or so years that I've been buying Apple products online, they've never once shipped late and often arrived a day or two early.
I particularly remember my first iPod arrived almost a week early when I went back into work after lunch and there was a cube shaped box on my desk.

You may be right. I've seen orders placed after mine in the US with earlier ship dates so it could be some algorithm that's estimating these delivery dates. Hopefully now that that have a firm idea of demand they will crank these things out furiously to meet demand. With BT5 coming next year Apple needs to get people to buy these quickly before they come out with the BT5 Airpods for the next iPhone launch.
Ordered mine a few minutes after Macrumors' post that they were for sale went up. My estimated delivery date is Dec. 20 (Toronto). Still in processing.
