Thinking about buying AirPods but have a few questions:

1. How does the volume and sound quality compare to Apple's EarPods?

2. Can I use just one AirPod at a time?

3. Can I pair them with an Apple Watch Series 1?

4. Are they worth their steep price?

1. On par volume. Better quality.

3. Yes, I'd assume so.

4. It's relative as to what you believe, but I'd say yes. I love mine.

I think they’re excellent and much better sound. The only problem is getting a good fit in your ear. If you can get that they’re worth every penny.

I think they’re excellent and much better sound. The only problem is getting a good fit in your ear. If you can get that they’re worth every penny.

I've seen these ear hook attachment things on Amazon that are supposed to help with keeping Air/EarPods more securely fit so if I did have any issues I would probably look into those.

Honestly, what peaked my interest was recently watching the movie Her and thinking how cool it would be to have a little voice assistant in your head. Obviously not for the purpose that Theodore ultimately pursues but for more practical stuff like scheduling appointments, creating reminders, that sort of thing. I realize we can do a lot of that now with just saying "Hey Siri" but going completely wireless has a lot of other practical applications. Like going to the gym, taking a hands free call, etc.

1. I think the volume and sound quality are tons better than the EarPods. Absolutely love them. However, on a plane, it can be hard to hear movie audio. I use my Sony 1000x for travel.

2. Yes.

3. Yes, no problems pairing with any Apple Watch.

4. I believe they were worth every penny. I LOVE my AirPods. Best earbuds I’ve ever owned.

I have never like the fit of my wired EarPods, they never seemed to fit well.

Are you say the AirPods fit you better. Maybe some hope for me?

Definitely hope! I was expecting to have to try one of the third-party add-ones to improve fit—or to return them. Imagine my shock when they fit! For me, I’m guessing it has to do with the way they are weighted.

It helps not having gravity pulling on cord all the time.

If you don’t look in mirror the look won’t be an issue. Honestly doubt anyone will really care what you look like using them. It’s not a fashion statement, it’s about the sound. Although Angela at Apple might try to convince you otherwise.
