My card was just charged and status has changed to preparing for shipment. I placed the order on Dec 22nd with a Feb 14 delivery date.
I'm sorry I didn't specify but yes I ordered them on Apple's site.
Dadeland and Aventura in FL had them for pickup! Successfully put in an order to pick them up tonight! yay!
Definitely walk-in, several reports of people finding some even without any pick-up availability.
Don't rely solely on notifications from your store.
Pick-up availability is a tip to rush the store, even if nothing showing up online. Probably all Apple Stores had a refill today, just go!

Just left Apple Store in Kenwood, OH. Said they had them in at 10am and just sold the last pair minutes before I walked up.
They could be full of it, but no notification sites had them on there at all today.
So far I've completed orders at Sprint and Verizon and had them cancelled. And barely missed them in store twice. Hopefully Best Buy comes through this week.

[doublepost=1485821801][/doublepost]Scored AirPods at the Philly Walnut St. Apple Store. They did not show up online but the salesman at a south jersey Apple Store said he could see 10 in stock at the Philly store. We called and they held one while I drove over.
Nearly the same here orderd 12/22/16, now preparing for shipment and delivery (to Germany) is now 2/7/17.
Europe is now receiving some, Japan and Australia also.
Maybe something for deb90
Germany is near me, please Apple, don't forget Italy!
