AirPods, Order/Shipping Thread

Go to istocknow and get an alert setup. I ordered from Apple for the six week wait...for an alert that they were in stock at my local Apple Store on Friday. Ordered a pair for pickup online and picked them up yesterday. They're out there, just gotta use the tools.
ATT shows them as shipping tomorrow. just ordered 2 pairs. i asked the chat lady if they really were there, and her system shows them in stock.

i set up an alert like a week ago and didnt get any alert till yet!
How's this for luck. I'm in the mall, walking by Apple Store and decide to look at red iphone. Ok looks nice, but not another $1,000 nice. So I go to wall display and pick out a new red Apple leather case for my JB 7 Plus. Figure I will like black face and red back.
A genius guy walks up and says, "anything I can help you with".
"Yup, I will take this case", I say.
"Anything else?", He says.
So I say, "you have any of those AirPod things?"
"Let me check for you." He pushes some buttons on his fat doohikie thing and 10 seconds later, I kid you not, another genius pixy walks up with a box in her hand.
"Here are your, AirPods", she says. My mouth drops open.
"Okie dokie" I say, opening my wallet, "please take my money Apple."
So ends another day richer in Apple products, with a spring in my step, due to a lighter wallet.

I think it may depend person to person. I felt like I had something like ear fatigue when wearing them initially and I think it might be my ears adjusting to the additional weight? I'd imagine these are heavier than the regular EarPods due to them containing more electronics and batteries inside, and the extra weight might take some time to get used to.
I've been using them on a regular basis ever since I got them on Saturday and I'm loving 'em. Yesterday I was out and about for around 4 hours with my girlfriend and had a single AirPod in at all times. There was a switch from right AirPod to left AirPod at a point, but that was more a factor of which side of me she was spending more time on (so I would have the AirPod in the opposite ear as to better hear her) as opposed to any other factor.
tl;dr: If a single AirPod can last around 5 hours before needing a recharge, I think I can have it in the whole time and still be comfortable.
I signed up for the istocknow email and a local apple store (smithaven) had them in stock. I saw the email while I was driving and pulled over and used the app to order. haha
But I looked now and didn't see them listed so I guess they are out.
I'm on the fence about them. Like the concept just wish there was some sort of noise isolation and also an easy way to change tracks. I normally just play my recently added playlist on shuffle and go from there. So if i don't feel like listening to a song, I just skip it.
I'm assuming they are under apples 14 day policy where I can try them out and return them with no restocking/open box fees correct?
How long do I have to pick them up? i'm assuming like at least 48 hours?

I was able to get a pair from At&T a month ago but now I'm looking for another pair for my dad. Has At&T been getting them in regularly? I know they are out of stock now, hoping they will get more in soon.
If you order from Apple apparently they really are taking that long. My boss ordered a pair back in February and there was a 6 week turn around. He got them 2 days early. I went ahead and ordered a pair early March with 6 weeks to deliver - said they should arrive by April 24th and so far that date is sticking. I keep hoping I will get lucky and they will ship early but not looking good so far. I didn't even think about looking at AT&T or Best Buy....should have

is there a trick to getting them on ATT? I've been subscribed to istock updates for 2 weeks and have never found them in stock after i receive my notification email.
I got 3 notification emails today and they were never actually in stock when I clicked the order link. One was even within a minute of getting the email.

I had issues with Target. I would try the apple stores near you. The one on the Magnificent Mile or whatever is called is nice plus you walk down the street and go to Hersey's but more importantly Ghirardelli and get a sundae
that is strange. i never got the notification from istocknow and was able to order them from att store once i visited istocknow and saw them in stock there.
