AirPods, Order/Shipping Thread

Ordered AirPods from Apple.ca on Feb 2nd, finally shipped yesterday from China, should arrive March 15.
In the meantime, I ordered BeatsX from Apple.ca on Feb 10th, and got them Feb 24th.
The BeatsX will be good for riding my bike, can't risk losing the AirPods outdoors. But the cable on them is pretty looong.

I ordered AirPods on Tuesday after trying them in the store. I requested that they be shipped to the store and it still shows a delivery date of April 25.

iStockNow just sent an email stating they were in stock at my local  store and I was able to order them for pick up today. Thanks iStockNow!

I was at the International Mall in Tampa for a Genius Bar appointment for a iPhone. When I reserved the appointment online, I saw that they were available for pickup. I hesitated for a minute while I considered what time I wanted the appointment. When I refreshed and went back they were gone. BUT the good news: at the appointment today I asked and was told they had 3 pairs come in yesterday, he went to the back to check because he thought someone did not pick up a reserved pair in time. Sure enough, I got that 3rd pair they had! Just the LUCK of the appointment time. Still have a pair ordered with a delivery date of March 21. I may see if a friend wants those before I cancel the order.

10MAR Used istocknow. It indicated they were in stock at 2 Apple stores near me.
I was able to do an in store pick Up.

so if I order these and they have a 6 week wait, are they actually taking that long? some getting them sooner?

Ordered mine February 8th and they shipped March 16th
The shipping is estimated to be 7 days. I have no idea where they are shipping from as I live in Scandinavia and the tracking number does not work. Its handled by TNT express international though.

EDIT: The estimate was actually March 28th, which would almost be 7 weeks.

order them now to get that going then check your local stores daily. I will start checking tomorrow as I was told they get deliveries Monday - Saturday...not always going to get the air pods but maybe a few a week will get you one

When you all find them at the store are you just walking in or calling ahead of time? I try to call the local stores but I seem to get a basic call center that can check stores. No luck today of course.

*** well the istock site worked great. Just got a notification and picking them up now. Thanks for all the suggestions

I have an order for AirPods from Apple I'm supposed to get on April 20th, but I saw today Target online has AirPods in stock so I ordered and supposed to get on Wednesday! I hope this is true I didn't get an email about it right away so I'm afraid to cancel my apple order right now.

Edit: just received my confirmation email.

Cant see them online at Target.

Target has had them sporadically online, however the istocknow notification has some sort of bug or the Target website stock has a bug sending out faulty notifications. Just keep in mind it's hit or miss with them.

I had $100 in apple gift cards, so I ordered mine March 13th through the app. I have a May 1st estimated ship date.

I don't understand why they don't allocate inventory to fill orders first, before shipping to stock stores 3-4 units at a time.
