Anyone on Catalina wondering where to change the ANC settings, its done in the volume settings in the taskbar.

Interesting though that it shows my battery life even though my airpods are connected to my iPhone.

Have you updated the firmware? If not, i would definitely do that and see. Also ensure the airpod is seating correctly in the case. Can you try taking both out then just putting the low change one in and see if it starts charging?
What’s the latest firmware?

Not sure, I don't have them yet but I've read a few people having done a fw update on them - think you connect the case to power and open the case next to your device and leave it for a short while.

I've been incessantly switching between the Airpods Pro to the AP2 (the music sharing I guess is new with iOS 13 made this much easier) playing my ALAC rips, expecting a noticeable sound quality improvement from the Pro that I'm just not finding. The Pro has a bit wider and more airy sound stage but that's about it. I've even compared them to my Sony 1AM2 cans and XBA-H1 buds for good measure. Nope they sound 98% like the Airpods 2 which are identical to the original. I bought into those hype Youtube videos. Shouldn've known better.

I have no doubt they will perform much better than the Airpods if you listen in a noisy environment. I listen inside 99% of the time so the benefits of active noise cancelling is not high on my list, but it does work quite well on the Airpods Pro. What I'm looking for is a noticeably sound quality improvement from the original Airpods with the same convenience, disappointingly I didn't find it from the Pro.

I had the Sony WF-1000XM3 buds. That's a noticeable sound quality improvement from the Airpods. I bought them on day 1 of release and I guess there was some firmware bug (or perhaps mine was defective) where it sounded like only one side had the noise cancelling active. You can imagine how odd sounding and uncomfortable that was. And more often than not the controls on the buds didn't respond. Perhaps Sony has a firmware update by now, but I returned them before my return period was up.

Since I have all the stuff out, I'll be playing my 1AM2 today. That's my ultimate in sound quality and in inconvenience lol, where to get the most out of it I have to use the balanced cable which can only be used from a dedicated DAP with balanced output.

Edit: I'm still incessantly switching between them to see what I might be missing. One of the times I switched the left bud had the screeching interference noise which I've never had from the old Airpods. Only time I ever heard that kind of interference was from my son's cheap Anker. Removing it from my ear and restarting didn't get rid of it. I placed it back into the case and then restarted and it went away.

Still deciding if i should pull the trigger... they cost exactly 325$ here. That's Beoplay E8 2.0 money and 50$ more than Sennheiser's Momentum True Wireless buds

Bose QC3511

Small peeve, but why are you typing QC3511, using the arabic numeral 'one'? Three-five-one-one is wrong, I think.

The full name is Bose QuietComfort 35 Series II (with roman numeral 'two' using two capital I letters). So it's QC35II, three-five-I-I, for short usually.

10. Mirrors by Justin Timberlake (4:39 onward to for prepping ears 5:30 to 6:21; should hear full range of vocals).

Holy crap. I’ve always liked this song but never heard it like this. So much cool stuff going on. I alway felt the end was just long, but now I’m hearing all sorts of things. I appreciate this song so much more. Even at 0:52 never heard those bells before haha.

Note: I didn’t have a decent pair of headphones when this song was released.

Wow that would be super useful... for some reason mine doesn't have the option to change the noise control. Just shows the airpods and the battery life and I'm on the latest Catalina.

Got my AirPods Pro this morning. Really loving the fit, they are sooooo comfortable (for me). ANC is good; I didn't expect it to be like my Sony over-the-ear headphones, but it functions very well, even blocking out the hand dryer in the loo (which, according to my watch, was at 95db).

Sound is fine for me, I'm not an audiophile nor someone who is very demanding. Bass is good enough for me.

Really like the touch controls, they work really well!

Having said all that, I'm going to exchange mine tomorrow. Two reasons for this:

1. Every time I open the AirPods lid, the pop-up dialog shows a red exclamation mark on the right earbud. They work fine, but it's worrying nonetheless.

2. After listening for about an hour or so, I found that the left bud is draining far more quickly than the right one:

I had the exclamation point on my right one also. Don't see it now though. Will see if it happens again. I'm guessing just a software fix needed?
Same issue here. Went to Apple store for exchange and same issue with the new pair. Im going to keep them for now since they work fine.

Current exchange rates bring these in at $323.25 in the UK. All down to Apple's stance on global market currencies and Brexit uncertaintity. They have certainly been maximising their profit at the expense of the UK customer.

Is anyone able to connect to these from MacOS Mojave? I can see them in the BT device list, but after clicking "Connect" they first seem to connect but then disconnect again after a few seconds. My Airpods 2 work fine.

Pro tip: you can turn on ANC for when you use just one ear bud at a time. I was looking for something like this for phone calls. It is under Accessibility->AirPods.

And don’t forget the compulsory 20% VAT (sales tax)! Rip-off Britain.

i watched this video and got worried. tests here video show that the EMF radiation from air pods pro is 3x the healthy limit, 100 times more than normal cheap bluetooth $20 buds... any one else worried about this?

I've really enjoyed the ANC and transparency mode but it doesn't appear that these are going to pass the phone call test for me, which is how I mostly use them. After testing with some calls today, the re-positioned mics appear to make a difference in terms of audio quality in picking up my voice as well as picking up more background noise.

Thanks for the good review. I have a pair coming on Monday, but was on the fence about them. I travel a lot and currently use the WH-1000XM3 for flights. I have the 1st gen AirPods for phone calls and general use. I only chose the AirPod pro over the in-ear Sony’s because of integration with Apple devices. I guess I’ll test them out and if I don’t like them get the in-ear XM3s.
Phone conversations: not good – very distracting with NC and even distracting with transpar. on: own voice like… numb.

other confirmation about this feedbacks?
if so, i will def purchase them.

yea in a phone call with the pro, my wife could hear the radio in the background. but on the normal ones it wasnt. yea I am wondering if the mic on the pro are not as good since its not as close to your mouth.

Yes - that is the word I was looking for. On phone conversations your own voice does sound numb compared to orginal airpods.
I feel goofy for asking this...but why would you want to hear your own voice on a phone call? Or are you meaning what the person on the other end is saying it sounds like?
