That day I noticed my rattle in the replacement L APP, I reached out to Apple Support on-line. They escalated the case right away and attempted to do another express replacement on that single ear. There was a problem (since my initial replacement, AC+ expired) so I was forced to go into my local store. An appointment was created for the next day. I went there, just to find out they didn't have any L's so they had to order it. A few days later it came in, and I went back and swapped it.

I can confirm that this replacement does not have the problem. So at least for now, my R and L replacements are good.

6th replacement pair today. I hate these things so much.
I'm on my 5th or 6th pair. I've lost count. The current replacement pair does a real nice THUMP THUMP THUMP ever time I take a step.

These were definitely a beta product. I won't be buying the second-generation, no matter how good the YouTube reviewers say they area.

Well I don't want to be too hasty - I agree these were not the "pros" Apple hoped for.

That’s really crazy. I’m still on my first pair after 18 months and apart from a high pitched squeaky sound occasionally if I press them deeper into the ears they work perfectly. I think that sound is actually expected considering the air that needs to move through them.

I have dropped them on the wooden floor several times now - still no problem.

If you have 5-6th pair showing same symptoms in a row you’re either extremely unlucky or I’m extremely lucky.

So for me and my 6th replacement, 99% of the time I use my pros while running. That’s when you here the noises. Sitting at my desk and listening to music (incredibly rare) the pros sound and feel great.

If apple would give me 50 bucks on trade I’d dump these things and get gen 3 AirPods.

I'm not a runner but i agree. both times ive taken them back they have been mostly fine when sitting, but when i go out walking the right would vibrate and buzz. i could also replicate it by tapping it.

made the mistake this time of saying it was only the right that had a problem, which was true, but they only replaced the right one. last time i said it was mainly the right but sometimes the left, and they replaced both.

its definitely a love/hate relationship. i hate that they break and i have to do without them for a month (live on a small island in the atlantic) but that month of me falling back on Beats reminds me of how good airpods are.

That’s why I’m so lucky - I don’t run!;)

I guess you’re just running wrong ?

Sorry. Couldn’t resist. I guess these pods are not made for running… big design flaw.

I imagine it's both. I've probably received more than my fair share of duds, while you seemingly have lucked out.

However, the high-pitched sound that you describe and I've experienced is definitely not normal. It's an electronic squeal, not the sound of air passing through the vents.

I assume that the mic’s pickup that air and then the pods think they should play back that (phase reversed or amplified depending on what kind of mode you’re in). Can’t really see how that can be avoided and it’s rare that it happens.

Does anyone know if anything inside the AirPods Pros have changed in the new MagSafe model, like, if they've maybe fixed some of the rattle issues?

I know it's supposed to just be a new charging case. But you never know.

I'm in the same position, lost count of how many 'repairs' I've had. Amazes me that what is supposedly a premium product, at a premium price, can have these ongoing issues and they basically be ignored by Apple. Sure they will swap them out but the number of people having to swap multiple times indicates they don't have an actual fix.

Given that the product is still on sale they are either selling a product with known issues or something has been changed in production. if its the later Apple should really be issuing replacements to those of us with ongoing issues.

I'll definitely be wary of buying the next generation and I will certainly be expecting a very good trade in offer from Apple. Expect I'll be disappointed.

Hey, i having an issue with my Airpods Pro, this is the second time and same issues, my first Airpods Pro have been refunded by Amazon, same for my current Airpods Pro
Dunno if its rattling, but it occurs on the left earpiece, its like i can ear a physical piece of hardware that is moving inside earpiece...
It sounds like a rattling from OP description.
My question, is, does any Airpods Pro rattle?
I am afraid to buy it again, like i said, i bought them twice and same issue occured at same earpice, at same time (within couple months)
Thanks

I wouldn't buy it again. Maybe they'll fix the problem for the next release. I recommend waiting for that.

Agreed, AirPods Pro is a flawed product. Apple took advantage of the fact that most users don’t realize it or think it’s normal…..the rattle seems to develop in every pair…wait until AirPods Pro 2 come out, or buy the Sonys

Another question, Amazon actually proposed me to return those Airpods Pro for repair.
Its still under warranty until end of december (2020), i can also send to Apple.
What is the best option? Amazon repair or Apple repair?

I highly doubt they're being repaired at all - much more likely they're just being replaced.

May as well deal directly with Apple - Amazon really won't be doing anything but sending them to Apple.

I would always get Apple for any repair…at least you get official refurbs. Amazon sells a lot of shady refurbs…I wouldn’t risk it

Weird. My 12-month old Airpod Pros are perfect.

I'm about to buy three pairs for my family for Christmas and just found this thread.

I never use my Airpod Pros for workouts (clearly not their use case).

I wonder if I should get Airpod 3s for them instead...

That may be a better option..... I'm sure once the APP2 come out next year Apple will cease the replacement program.

Yes they just replace them for new pods. I’ve sent mine back several times and also new sets sent through

Apple won’t let me do a repair for my AirPods Pro’s by sending them in. They’re making me drive 2.5 hours to my nearest Apple Store to replace them.

I just sent my Airpods Pro back to Amazon. even at £185 the sound wasn't that good, my over ear Sennheisers sound better, the case creaked at the lid hinge which also rattled and every time I took the things out my ear the tips came inside out, I cant use the smaller tips as they dont give a good fit. I'm going to look at Sonys buds, Apple integration is great but they feel cheap and the battery life was awful, if you use noise cancellation or transparency they eat battery and my magsafe case dropped battery to 50% in two days and I had issues with one stem charging to 100% and the other not out of the box.

Also I started to have friends say they could not hear me properly which is not great either, pretty sad as my expectations were high but reality was they feel cheap and I don't want to be talking to Siri to change volume, they should have had that on the stems, maybe by stroking the stem up or down to make the volume raise or lower, saying "hey Siri" in public or getting your phone out to change volume defeats the point of having buds in the first place for my usage.
