All jokes aside, what would be a reason to get the iPhone 7 Plus over the Note 7?

Well don't really want to read through 18 pages so sorry if this has been brought up multiple times

I chose the iPhone because of iOS really. For me it's smoother and I don't have to worry about what apps are running in the background and such, basically I just don't have to worry about it. I also get MAJOR update envy when new stuff comes out and iOS vs Samsung Android is just no competition. Chances are my S7 Edge won't even get Nougat until the next version of Android is announced.

I could get into why I am liking iOS better than Android so far but really that's not the question. Really the reason to choose an iPhone 7 over the Note 7 is if one likes Android or iOS better IMO. Past that other than small details they are just as capable.

Ah of course.Silly me.Its very natural for a 2 year old iPhone 6 to show stutters while scrolling messages,while scrolling down the list of apps in CC,Tapatalk ,Scrolling down the list of 2 days notifications in NC while the version it shipped it had no such issues but the latest iPhone blows away everything I throw at it to the point there is zero stutter.But yes if this phone similarly manages to slow down in iOS 11 when iPhone 8 comes out its not planned obsolescence.I get it

A new phone (with a new and improved CPU/GPU and more RAM) running the iOS version that it came this better than older phones run a newer iOS version means planned obsolescence? Not just plain old basic reality and progression? When you hear hoofbeats, think zebras, and only zebras.

Seriously?Graphically what ground breaking change happened since iOS 8 that made mobile data app list stutter,the list of notifications stutter,the app switcher showing frame skips.

The RAM is not the issue here.My iPad Air 2 shows stutters every now and then with an A8X and 2 gigs of RAM.Are you saying the A9 and an additional gig of RAM impoved things to the point of no stutter?

I'm using iOS 10 on an iPhone 6S and it's very snappy and fluid to use. The phone is brand new but the hardware is technically a year old yet handles the latest version brilliantly.

Although the 6S Plus handled iOS 10 like a champ,if you scroll down the list of 2 days worth of notifications in the NC there are frame skips and stutters.Also if you swipe to the left in NC to view widgets there is a hint of slight lag there in iOS 10.On the 7 Plus everything is silky smooth.Being a PC gamer frame rate issues bother me and I can tell just by using the 7 Plus its running at near 60 fps,the 6S at around 50 while the iPhone 6 is on 40.On the original versions they shipped with they were 100% smooth

Good for you.I got the 7 Plus because after the laggy intervals my iPhone 6 went through I plunked in the extra bucks over the iPhone 6s if it meant a lagfree experience and I am happy with my choice.I am the sort of person who is OCD about stutters.They irritate me.I am ready to pay Apple for OS upgrades too if it means an lag free experience

iOS 10 is flying on my 6S Plus. Performance wise no complaints whatsoever.

Turn your phone into landscape and activate 3D Touch menu.There is a stutter on the iPhone 6S Plus.None on the 7 Plus.Scrolling down the Mobile Data apps list has stutters.iPhone 7 doesnt.If you open the app switcher with tons of apps open and scroll slowly to the end of the list and then quickly jump with a quick swipe to the home page there are frame skips.This does not happen on iPhone 7.

Also I am not sure if this exists on the 6S or not but Tapatalk had scroll stutters on iPhone 6.The iPhone 7 Plus doesnt

Spin, deflections, moving the goalposts, etc. doesn't change the basic reality (and that you yourself make comments and observations that contradict the conclusions you keep on wanting to draw). It has all been clearly demonstrated time and time again. It really is just that simple and obvious, and there really isn't anything there to change that.

No need to go even that far.If you open the Apple Watch app and scroll down the list of apps there there is scroll stutter on iPhone 6.Scroll down the list of apps in Edit Widgets Menu.It will stutter there too.Lately in the latest iOS 10 beta I have also noticed scrolling down the list of messages in the message app has also started showing stutter

The only thing I have learnt in my years of being an Apple customer is that the only way to enjoy peak iOS performance is to get the latest device in the market and older devices will show performance decrease over time.Whether you call it planned obsolescence or hardware unable to keep up is your call.iOS 10 being better than iOS 9 doesnt even mean much because iOS 9 was a downright atrocious release for me coming from around iOS 8.3 and further when I got my iPhone 6.After seeing the latest iPhone performance I have realised what I have missed over this years.I have accepted this basic reality now and plan to get an iPhone every year to sort out this issue.

I will be very surprised if any device is completely lag free all of the time. All computers encounter a stutter every once in a while and even the iPhone 7 is no immune to that.

I agree.I can understand the occasional stutter a few hours apart or so but on my iPhone 6 I could find many areas which lagged my phone .My iPhone 7 Plus so far has been exceptional.Even the obscure parts of the OS are not lagging.Either Apple has ridiculously overpowered the CPU and GPU so that its just blowing through the OS inefficiencies or the OS itself must be optimised for iPhone 7 more than any other device

It doesn't happen in practice. My ip7+ lagged occasionally, I always take someone who says "never" with a grain of salt. It had it's fair share of issues as well, far from perfect. Not being able to make phone calls or get data/reception on my ip7+ was a pretty bad issue, one which Apple hasn't even addressed yet.
