I've got a couple of stuck installs from the App Store, one is an update to an existing app and one is a new app purchase. Both have gone through the download and installation process and are now just stuck with a full progress bar, clicking on them does nothing.

Support for flash video (.flv) has been removed. Preview and quicktime no longer play these file types.

Found two things strange in ML:

- when i double tap in desktop to change background it opens system preference right away. Now after that, if I try it gain I have to tap it twice for it opens.

- I have a wallpaper folder within pictures that i have to add to the desktop folder pane in system preference to change wallpapers. Now, in prior versions the folder will stay there one added. In ML I have to added every time I want to change a the background.

Any one else experiencing this so I can be calm that it's not just me?

Yeah I've noticed that too when I try to bring up the System window for changing the background. The indicator light appears under the icon, but it won't open up on the screen. Pretty annoying.

Thanks for the iStat fix; worked great for me.

I didn't get the errors you got but after every restart, my desktop wallpaper reverts back to the stock ML wallpaper that shows a galaxy or something, and when I went to the display settings it shows my wallpaper as the one I set before the restart. I had to go to the pic manually in Finder and set it as background. Anyone having this problem? :(

"Clear Cache" Is removed from the file section in safari

Go to Safari preferences, click on advanced and make sure the show develop menu is checked. Then on the menu bar you'll see develop, click that and scroll down you'll see it.

This is my first Mac. MBP 13". After reading all these posts, I'm afraid to install ML. If I do and there's a problem, how would I go back to Lion? Thanks

Make a full backup with an app such as Carbon Copy Cloner before you upgrade.

Update

Hello all,

Thought I'd update you on my own progress. As you may have seen in an earlier post - I got the dashboard working again!

I think a lot of little issues with performance etc. seem to get sorted if you do a permissions repair with Disk Utils. from the recovery disk [Hold down Command + R on Restart/Boot].

Like a lot of others, I still have the issue with the GameCenter not letting me log in directly when I launch it.

I've found that if I launch the Chess game that's included in the ML install, this will ask me to sign into my GameCentre account and once I'm in, I can launch GameCenter without issue. However, if I log out of the account, then I have to launch Chess again to get back in. I would imagine this is a bug that will be fixed soon. Although reading about GameCentre, Apple seem to believe you won't need to log out!

Keep them coming people!

Not for me ...

Ah you are right, I never had processes on so I forgot all about it. I checked and you are correct, it's broken.

I'm able to log into game center fine by turning on the app and entering my info from there. I just clicked on the app again to be sure and it's kept my login information and starts up what games I have in my apple account.

Installing apps (inc. dragging apps into the apps folder) now puts the app in the first Launchpad pane instead of the second one. Might be a feature, but I preferred all the stuff I cared about to be auto separated from the ~21 Apple apps that I either keep in the dock or don't care about. (I would also move things I don't click in LP such as BetterTouchTool to that pane.)

Things automatically going into the second pane is why I actually used Launchpad over the App folder in the dock. That app folder is a clutter *BEEP* of stuff and Launchpad is all clean and organized.

Libreoffice crashing. Reinstalled newest version 3.5.5, and it won't launch at all now.

Plus, you can arrange the apps in Launcher, adding "pages" of screens by dragging an app to the edge of the screen. Love it!

Someone else recommended this to me, and it works perfectly.

I have had this happen and when I would open a new space it would show the space one's custom background but then revet to default when the space was opened.

Yea, and that's what I'm doing now every time I install something. (Launchpad really doesn't get the love it deserves. Minus from the people who use spotlight for everything.)

I guess moving an app after installing it really isn't enough of an effort to complain about, but it's kind of the concept of not having to do it before and now I have to do it.

Also, kind of an excitement than instant letdown. Dragging an app onto the Launchpad icon now adds it into Launchpad. Yay! However it just links the app there instead of adding it to the app folder. So dragging an app from a .dmg onto the launchpad icon will just result in a dead link once you eject the disk image. Awwwww!

Recent items don't show up in Quicktime App Expose' (four finger swipe down or right clicking the icon on the dock and choosing Show All Windows). They are, however, in the Open Recent list under File in the Quicktime menu bar. I tested this on three iMacs, two are clean installs.

Pictures in Notes disappear after sync with iPhone

I have notes synced between an iPhone (iOS5.1.1) and a MBPr with Mountain Lion.

I created a note to catalogue beer varieties, with reviews. On the MBPr I included photographs of the bottles under the reviews.

These are supposed to sync as paperclip signs in Notes on iOS devices. But my iPhone did not pick up the note in question.

When I went back into Notes via MBPr, I see 45 copies of "Beer Journey" note, and photos had been reduced to icons.

A second sync on iOS device and a return to MBPr, and the note is missing photographs completely.
----

I tested again with a new note. "Test" had one picture, which showed up as intended on the iOS device with a paperclip. Then looking at the MBPr note again, I find the picture gone.

This is likely an iCloud issue, but any insight would be great!

I have numerous issues with Safari. Czech it out:
  1. Picture (especially GIFS) flash repeatedly every now and then
  2. Certain expandable elements will not revert to their normal size on a page, but others will.
  3. Typing will go wonky every now and then, where it will look like I'm not typing anything when I am, and when I stop it catches up. Text also flashes every now and then.
  4. It eats all 4gb of my RAM in about 20 minutes.
