is there a way to hide thefull content of the msg from showing in the notification screen ?

In Airmail settings there's an entry called "Font Size and Preview". Change the preview value to 0 lines. See if that works for you.

Email by Easylido just got a nice update which finally added the much wanted search in e-mails older then 3 months (for Gmail at least that now works). The weird thing is that they didn't mention it in their App Store update description (should have been ofcourse a feature from version 1.0) and they also added the option to turn off threaded view so it seems and improved snoozing.

I did ask them to add other features though in future releases:

Must haves:
- have the option to set long and short swipes both to e.g. Trash. Now you can't do that it's either one or the other
- multi attach files (non photo, so e.g. PDF/Word) in one go from e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive
- URL scheme to create a new e-mail with a Launcher widget from the Notification Center.
- have the option to show the date and time in the thread overview for e.g. e-mails from Yesterday I'm now seeing 'Yesterday' for two e-mails. I have to open the e-mails to see the exact day (11th of April) /time (e.g. 19.00CEST).
- more advances search to e.g. see folders/tags where e-mails are in/tagged to
- search with e.g. PDF + person's name to see e-mails from that guy where there was a PDF attachment (like Spark can)
- save search queries (e.g. with certain dates + titles or attachments)
- layout options (e.g. fonts/bold/case sensitive/bullets/colors)

Wishes:
- show avatar icons (optional)
- calendar build in
- action list option (things to do)

Some of the must haves and wishes are in Spark and Airmail app but the speed and especially the option for showing attachments above a message are one of the main reasons to stick with Email by Easylido.

I second the idea of searching the forums before starting a new thread

However, since you're here, Airmail is my favorite. It's beautifully designed, feature rich, and is actively being developed for more improvements.

It's also worth noting the Airmail support staff is very friendly and helpful. They've helped me identify several bugs and have fixed them with following releases.

Sorry couldn't help it. This is probably the most asked topic. I've had different feature questions myself about different programs. Search and you will find the features that match your needs. For instance, I like the iOS Mail but it doesn't push from gmail or apps so I use something else.

For me, Email by Easilydo is top notch.

Agree that EasilyDo is a great app. The only thing keeping it from being my go-to email app is the lack of signature control. Unlike, say Spark, I can only associate one signature with an account. That means if I have two aliases (or even just a formal and less formal signature) I'm out of luck. Once/if EasilyDo changes this — it will be my one and only app.

Can all my emails and mailboxes and accounts be easily migrated to new apps? Are all email apps compatible for migration, or are there some to avoid? I've found mail to be buggy, and am thinking of Thunderbird now that they have a new home. Either that, or Airmail seems to get a lot of raves. But I don't want to do it if it's going to take an enormous amount of compatibility work with address books and ios and other compatibility issues I haven't even thought of.

Most of them (e.g. Outlook, Gmail) can easily be opened in third party e-mail apps such as Spark, Airmail, Email by Easylido. It depends on the e-mail accounts you are using.

Yay, as expected... no useful changes in the latest update of Spark.
Now wait for another half year till 2.0, I guess. Great.

I'm afraid so which is why I currently work with Email by Edison (formerly Easylido) although that app is definitely not perfect either but it has my number one feature (showing attachments above a message instead of scrolling all the way to the bottom of an e-mail in e.g. Spark).

I still have my hopes though that both apps will improve their apps but with the speed of Spark/Edison it could take ages indeed before I see most of my wishlist from February '16 to be included in the Spark app. Ok the TouchID is ok now and there is MacOS support (not yet Windows though).

Bugs:
- delay in response/sending when you try to share an URL in another third party app and when I use the iOS Share Sheet to send it via Spark (or any other e-mail app I have). With Spark the response is slower then e.g. with Outlook or the Apple Mail app. [This is maybe a third party app thing, I've seen the same behaviour with Email by Edison]

- e-mail don't show immediately when you open up the app (although the badge icon shows e.g. 2 new e-mails and background app refresh is on for Spark). [This is maybe a security thing of somesort although I don't get why because you can seen the preview why not load the full e-mail in the app already, I've seen the same behaviour with Email by Edison]

Missing features:
- doesn't show attachments above the e-mail message
- option to show avatars
- task/action list for e-mails,
- save multiple attachments to the cloud
- translation: support more languages (e.g. Dutch)
- snooze to desktop feature

For me, Newton & Outlook seem like the best(?) options;
I need iOS, MacOS, & Android support, possibly even Windows 10, not just iOS or iOS + Android.
I don't think Spark has any Android support yet, does it?

Still not that interested in it given the exorbitant costs, already have O365 Home so we'll prolly stick with Outlook. Don't care about their cloud tech, there was lots of hoopla but I saw some of their detailed write-ups, & realised the noise was mostly about folks spewing despite not understanding the tech. May give it go eventually, if Outlook annoys me, no idea about the UX as I haven't used it at all yet.
[doublepost=1503498937][/doublepost]Is Newton & Outlook pretty much it, given my multi-platform requirements???
