I love my 15 Pro Max. If you're experiencing issues you can reproduce, make an appointment at an Apple Store and show them what's happening.
I notice lag just randomly while using, not just while making up. My 13 Pro had a 120hz screen and it was super smooth. There's a very good reason for the lag though. The screen refresh lowers to 1Hz to conserve battery, but when you wae it up, it shoots up to 120Hz really fast. I'm guessing that sometimes you catch it in the middle of a refresh cycle, so it has to play "catch-up" and therefore lags or skips the animation.
Not really sure if this is fixable, or just the nature of trying to run the screen at 1Hz.
It's not buyers remorse dude. I traded in my 13 Pro and my wife's to AT&T and got the 15 Pro's for free. In fact our bill went DOWN. I want to love the 15 like I do my 13 Pro. Look at my account, I have been active since 2008, an apple user since 1998. I am not complaining to complain, the iPhone 15 Pro or maybe iOS 17 in general is a step back. This 1000%. Summarizes all of the useless “issue” threads.
Yep form is great, I love the decreased weight, the screen is great, the battery on the regular 15 Pro is pretty decent as well, it's quick usually - all true. But It's a step back. MAYBE it's just iOS 17. Either way, it's just not as good of an experience as my 13 Pro was.I have noticed software bugs. I think as more features are added and Apple is attempting to provide new features plus software support for hundreds of millions of devices there are just more bugs to work through.
I should clarify, in summary, I am very happy with my 15 Pro Max. Battery life is awesome, form factor is beautiful, it’s fast, takes great photos, and I enjoy the UI elements surrounding Dynamic Island. No overheating, no slow downs.
I do agree the 13 Pro was a nearly perfect phone. I had the 13 Pro 6.1” model prior to my 15 Pro Max. It was great at everything, just missed out on some features I like-dynamic island, no always-on-display, no USB-C. If it had those features I wouldn’t have upgraded. I may upgrade again next year if some of the rumors surrounding the 16 Pro Max pan out: 4th super telephoto lens with 10x zoom, 6.9” display, capture button.Yep form is great, I love the decreased weight, the screen is great, the battery on the regular 15 Pro is pretty decent as well, it's quick usually - all true. But It's a step back. MAYBE it's just iOS 17. Either way, it's just not as good of an experience as my 13 Pro was.
I think that's just iOS 17. It will be optimized and refined over time and then it will be fast and stable.I notice lag just randomly while using, not just while making up. My 13 Pro had a 120hz screen and it was super smooth.
iOS 17 has a lot of great features but it’s definitely been plagued with a ton of bugs. That seems to be the status quo for Apple software launches these days. They usually do a pretty good job addressing most of the bugs though. It's not buyers remorse dude. I traded in my 13 Pro and my wife's to AT&T and got the 15 Pro's for free. Back up a statement? On MacRumors? The home of unsubstantiated armchair expertise? In what way ? You can't just say it's a joke without backing it up.
Too many employees working from home & not collaborating in person to make software right. Even with the latest software my 15 pro doesn't register touches , freezes up (in Apple apps) and restarts overnight that I have to put in a passcode almost every morning! Ridiculous.Yeah I agree, it seems they all are kinda wonky until some of the first few updates. But I just feel like the 15 Pro is the most unpolished new release in a long time and it's a bummer. Hopefully it's all worked out soon.
People should stop saying "Am I the only one" when they are expressing a popular opinion, or at times even the majority opinion. Say it only when you see almost ZERO other person sharing the same opinion. But it is widely known that many people are not satisfied with the 15 Pro.

He's not the only one. As a matter of fact, people with your opinion are definitely the minority. iOS17 is the issue, not the hardware.. Pointing at news media as proof is an effin joke.. Media sucks the sweat from a dead mans testicles, always has..You are the "only one" who doesn't know that this is widely known. In fact, it is VERY widely known.
It has been in the news. On virtually all tech news, but also mainstream news like CNN, USA Today, Fox News, etc.
You missed the point. Referring to the news was to point out that an idea was widely known -- many people are aware of the idea. It has nothing to do with whether the idea is true or false, or whether it is nuanced enough. He's not the only one. I'm really not liking the iPhone 15 Pro. Some of it is probably iOS 17 bugs but man, typing is still a chore, even after 17.1.1. It gets laggy and doesn't register touches always.
The audio recording automatically starts randomly in messages.
The animations get laggy.
In spotlight search some of my keys are highlighted for some reason.
I should have kept my 13 Pro - it was flawless (though I never had iOS 17 on it).
Just venting.
I'm sure Apple will sort all this in future updates, seems like there is a 17.1.2 around the corner that may fix things for the users that have issues.
The 13 pro had its issues too when it was released with laggy screens, severe battery drain and so on.
So by that train of thought, the 14Pro/ProMax had camera fluttering, battery performance and green tint on many displays until more than halfway through IOS16 so that phone had problems associated to it too. After software updates all seems fixed and now people consider it a good device.. Seems every new iPhone has issues and most of it is due to software that isn't optimized for the device.. Maybe if Apple offered better software at launch, more people could focus on enjoying their phone and not wondering if their issue is the next "gate"..You missed the point. It has nothing to do with whether the idea is true or false, or whether it is nuanced enough.
For example, if someone says that "nobody" knows who the US president is, I could say that all kinds of news outlet have mentioned him, so that many people know who is president is. This has nothing to do with whether what the news says about him is accurate, or whether I support the president.
My opinion -- that many people (many can be hundreds or thousands, not necessarily the majority) are aware of problems associated with the iPhone 15 is certainly accurate. It has nothing to do with whether the problems are in fact related only to iOS 17.
If it was the software, did you pick up another 15 Pro?Had the same issues.
Returned my 15 Pro.
Went back to my 13 Pro.
Found that most of the issues (but not all) were because iOS 17 needs to call the Orkin man. Worse OS release ever.
Just really really terrible.
