No I didn't. Seems like a scam to me. The guys account was likely hijacked. I guess there is a slight chance I'm wrong but I would be willing to bet money on it.

I hope, for your sake, that I'm wrong!

Cheers.

Not really betting, paypal will cover it and so will VISA. I guess it's just that i have to put up with a little aggravation to save a few hundred dollars.

If it was hijacked he probably would have gotten in back in the 60 or so days that he hasn't gotten any feedback. I'm sure he'd contact eBay and figure it out..or atleast be watching his account and tell them when a bunch of Macbooks get posted.

No one would just walk away from their high-feedback account getting jacked.

The good side of the grass.
Did you read the older pre-canned feedback the seller left for others on this acct?:
thanks for fast payment, smooth transaction
great seller items are in great condition and work i recommend
smooth trasaction quick payment thank's for bidding
great buyer! always clear, quick payment, all one could ask for.
thank's, quick pay, way to buy
very fast shipment item in great condition

Sorry, replies to buyers now don't seem quite like the same guy unless he had a serious brain fart.

222 total feedback is hardly a high number.

Ah I suppose but it still doesn't seem like it would slip by them. But the past feedback he left does seem to be a good indicator that it was.

even if it is jacked the macbooks could still be real.

Still not a single picture of a seller possessed item. All canned adverts. Even a camera phone pic of a few boxes shouldn't be that difficult.

Did you notice his one $5.70 ram purchase to make sure acct. was jackable?

Here's some more detective work for ya..

What do you make of this?

http://cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/Pontiac-G6_...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318

I'd say the grammar is pretty consistent..

Here's my 2 cents detective work. Easiest way to analyze it is to first throw away everything with proper spelling. Usually that means it was copy/pasted from somewhere else, especially things like car specs. Focusing instead on the things with spelling/grammar errors is more likely to give you indications of what he actually wrote.

This paragraph here sounds like he tried to sound all lawyer like but made an error no lawyer would ever make in misusing the word "loose" instead of "lose." So that tells me he couldn't have copy/pasted this and it's highly likely that he wrote it. The grammar used here is not consistent at all with the email replies everybody has been getting:

"Within (7) business days of the end of auction, full payment must be received either by cashiers-check, approved bank draft, or certified funds. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you will loose your deposit"

The bold emphasis is mine.

Yeah that quote just reeks of trying too hard because he knows he sucks at grammar.

So where's he sending the money if the paypal account is also registered to the same ruben?

I'd bet anything there's a freeze on his account right now awaiting feedback.. My paypal account is 7 years old and they froze me for 4k worth of macbook pros.

someone said he called the car dealer that ruben aka usedsnoopy used to work at so it would make sense there are a bunch of cars listed by him..

That was me..I called there and the guy said he left back in november..

I don't think we're trying to prove he sold cars.. just that the crappy grammar is consistent.

Well if i had a master plan to scam people on ebay, i sure as heck wouldn't use my real name and real phone number.

Either he's for real, or he was scamming people selling cars and maybe that's why he left that job?
