UPS and FEDEX always get updated for me. But USPS is different.

USPS also depends on whether you create the shipping label yourself or go to the P.O to mail it. You are more likely to get proper tracking by going to the P.O. since I believe they are obligated to scan it in at the station of origin.

If you create the label yourself, they don't necessarily need to scan it in.

I've sent items USPS, UPS and FEDEX, and I'm yet to NOT show updates every time it gets signed in, picked up, arrives at another distribution facility, is in transit on the ground or when it's eventually delivered. I'd be afraid, VERY afraid. I'm smellin' SCAM as well, but I'm hoping it's not for all you MR Members...

Do we really think people outside of our macnerdiness comprehend the subtle differences between a rev A and rev B computer? It's a rabbit hole most people don't go down. I don't think that by stating iLife '09 comes with the macbooks necessarily clinches their rev B authenticity.

I didn't purchase anything from this guy. I was just stating that USPS don't always update their tracking information. I'm with you in that I hope all these MR members get what they ordered.

heck i'll buy them all to resell at a profit. isn't that what that 1 dude that bought 10 of them did?

Yeah, why don't you buy all of them and sell them to all the lurkers on the thread? I'll loan you the money and we can split the profit. 50/50? =)

I have the cash, but just waiting for at least one to show then i will drive down:0

is everything!
Here's another strange thing.. In the USPS Click-n-ship notification it says:

Type of Service: Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box

If you sign up for email updates you get an email that says:

Service Type: First-Class Packages Signature Confirmation

Good luck man! I really hope you get your Macbook air for that price. So far, its hard to tell. I know in the past, some scammers have been "smart" enough to create a "fake shipment" by tricking the buyers to think they shipped out the item by creating a shipment online. (either by UPS, USPS, etc...) but not really ship the item. (dropping the box off)
I guess if he ends up screwing you over, you can also charge him for Mail Fraud using the government's postal system.
But good luck!!

To put your mind at ease the guy refunded me for paying extra for more insurance and faster shipping to canada. I never asked for the refund but he said i had overpaid, if someone wanted to scam me they would have just said full insurance was added and kept the money, i'm pretty sure he this guy is for real...

I am at least 95% certain that you will get your MBA rev B, as stated, new in box as soon as USPS can get it there. Some people get the deals and make big ones to make big money. This guy didn't get 200+ feedback by scamming people. You are safe via eBay and PayPal, and I am sure you will be happy when it arrives this week. And since you bought the rev B MBA, you will have an amazing Mac ready to do everything you need it to. Cheers.

it's bigger than you think

It finally dawned on me just where these macbook air's came from. Uncle Steve is out for a long lunch, and wadda'ya know, truly remarkable, spectacular, née, *insanely great* deals are starting to pop up all over the internets. Steve's workin' his stimulus mojo, as contemplating death is prone to make one do. See, he's not the kind to settle into his la-Zee-boy and go gentle into that dark night without spreading his reality distortion cheer like a big warm, downy blanket, calming every over-extended credit card he encounters. Just wait until you see what he has in store for the 10,000th "unauthorized" macbook fire sale. That lucky buyer will get a highly unusual, one of a kind, chocolate-filled macbook,... ghirardelli chocolate to be precise,...just so you know that your twelve C-notes were well-spent. Enjoy it, you lucky chucklehead you, 'cause uncle steve is just getting warmed up!

I am truly pleased to see that hope still exists in the lives of others ;). But if I were you I'd start filling out that paperwork. ;)

That won't expedite much. I've been through the process before, It's a lonnnggg process.....

Better to call the CC company and dispute charges first, at least you're not responsible for them until resolved.

It was a joke for the most part. ;) I was saying that he's not getting his machine and if he does, it will probably not be what he paid for. Remember, our OP has nothing to worry about. He is "doubly covered" with PayPal  and his CC.
