I said "Ah thank you. Also do these Airs come with iLife 09 software?

Also, can I pay $30 extra to have it shipped with fedex or UPS?"

And he said

"yes this air comes with iLife 09 , we will have to check if your shipping lable was printed "

sent him back saying I was asking about a future buy, not already bought one.

half-assed grammar, spelling and poor sentence structure sure doesn't instill much confidence for me. I just received a reply:

"dear ebay memeber.

let us thank you first for your question

your shipment will be processed by tomorow you will be notifyed via email for your tracking #
from best regards from all usedsnoopy team work!"

i don't know whether to be happy or sad about this whole situation.

Yes, yes, you can always tell the bad guys by their grammar.

(A shame about spell checkers cuz we could just round them all up).

Ok, i'm a little worried, I asked if i could pay more for insurance, he just emailed me and said USPS only insures a max of 500$ when shipping to canada, and that's the max he can do and is included in the shipping charge. How reliable is USPS?? and is this true??

Wow I just looked this up and surprisingly it's kinda true. For some unknown reason the maximum insurance you can have to Canada is $675 (not 500, but maybe he was thinking US dollars who knows). To EVERY other country there's no limit. It's just Canada, what the heck!

At least that's my interpretation of the official USPS site here:

Everything is traceable through the bank accounts. There's always a money trail.

That may be true, but it is very easy to sign up to a bank with one form of ID (I've used my uni ID, which you can acquire without even fully enrolling and without ID) and have a debit card mailed to a business address. All this can be faked easily and this would be done by any serious scammer.

Also, PayPal is not the law. Just because PayPal sides with you, they do not have the right to demand bank account information. You need to get the police involved yourself to get that far. Not a lot of fun.

I had a terrifying thought. What if his guy is for real but is selling the rev a units thinking it's rev b. Someone on this forum mentioned the usps package size was smaller than the dimensions on apples site. Could it be that they shipping rev a's who's dimensions are smaller. If someone is emailing him ask if the laptop box is white (rev b) or black (rev a)

I thought about that too, it looks like he just copied and pasted the item description in his auction with stock ad photos. He may have gotten a batch of rev A's to sell and not really knowing the product slapped on the description of MacBook air that he found online. I guess that's better than an outright scam because you can easily claim false description return it and get your money back.

Ya I guess. I don't think this guys a scammer as I overpaid for faster shipping and he refunded me the extra money I gave as he said shipping was standard. Just worried he doesn't know what he is shipping. Again if anyone is emailing him ask what colour the box is.

Asked him this and he said

"Hi yes you can add it on your purchase and make a note that the extra $30 are for fedex shipping."

I also made sure it was the new one. I told him on the phone "Are you sure it has the 9400m in there?" He said, yes, brand new with the graphics and all. So, that answers that question. Anyway, anyone had any luck with usps or fedex tracking?

The seller is entertaining you even after you have paid so that is a good sign. I really hope you guys get what you paid for.

I hope we get it too, and i hope they aren't stolen. I was thinking, could it be possible that he bought these in a country where they are being sold cheaper, also with student or epp discount? For example i know in the UK macs are pretty expensive when you convert to USD, it may be possible he buying these in a country where macs are sold cheaper.

The good side of the grass.
I just paid for two ebay items via paypal. I went and checked my previous transactions on paypal and the name of the individual was on the "payment to" column, not their ebay handle. That all works out to the same Miami guy & phone #?

It would be amusing if these all come in but with Chinese keyboards.
