I just bought the last one...There are a few reasons why i do NOT think this is a scam. Firstly i actually argued with the guy on shipping prices, the argument went to the point where i said no and didn't respond for 2 days, then i caved and said i'll pay the 26USD to ship to canada (price he had on ebay). If he wanted to scam me he would have said yes to shipping for free (i think).
Secondly, he could very easily made a fake account and bought a system off himself, thus being able to provide positive feedback for himself, that would make almost anyone believe he's for real..I paid with visa and paypal so i'm protected, but i'm really thinking this is for real.

I would have contacted him and asked him if I could add $30 or so and have him ship it via UPS or FEDEX. With all the money you're saving $30 more is nothing. I was planning on ordering one after seeing positive feedback and hearing from some of the users here, but with only one left I guess I'll be missing out if this is legit.

Didn't he have two listings before? Don't think he does anymore. However it would be worth asking him if he'll have more.

He had 2 listings.. and sold all 40 of em.. Someone bought 10 at once..

$47,960 in 3 days.. not bad :D

I'm not sure about this, but doesn't paypal or ebay hold your funds when you try to sell multiple items over a certain price? I remember when the whole iphone unlock thing came out some sellers weren't able to sell in bulks unless they had merchant account or something

Well.. true.. that's the total take before all the fee's. This guy hasn't sold anything in over 90 days so I'm sure as soon as paypal saw all that money coming in they put a hold on the funds. When he starts getting positive feedback they will start releasing the money.

The good side of the grass.
Everything deep inside my head is saying "no way!" I do hope there is a way though. It would be nice to see one of these types of deals be real. The no sales in over 90 days and then bam, all these new MBA/MBP's sets alarms off to me.
It would also make me more a believer had he shown a stack of the real boxes or a pick of just one in his possession. All pic's were of stock cut n' paste promo crap.

I agree, but the fact the the auctions are for 7 days makes me feel slightly better, as if it was a scam feedback would arrive before he sells all his items. I got the last MBA but he's still selling tons of MBP's.

This is after you placed the order and paid? Just wondering what was he saying? or were u just confirming he will ship it

Yes, after I placed the order and paid. I asked if he could ship sooner because I'm leaving on a business trip.. He said he would see what he could do. I also asked him where he got 40 MBA's and MBP's and he said he couldn't tell me. Seemed pretty friendly.

Sounds hopeful then, I hope mine comes soon too, good luck!

I would bet real money these people, ALL of them, get their shiny new MBAs!

It doesn't matter how, but all will be NON-STOLEN, brand new MBAs just as advertised.

I have seen deals like these... somehow they always turn out to be legit when on eBay. All of the real scammers use Craig's List. People on eBay have the product... how did this seller get over 200 positive feedback??? Cause he always delivered the real product.

I could be wrong, but I am willing to bet money that it's the real deal. I would have bought one had I needed one. There are lots of great deals to be had on eBay... someone else mentioned money laundering... I guess it's possible. But I doubt that too.

I have used USPS tracking and not had it show the details until the package is delivered. I wouldn't use USPS tracking as a gauge of validity.

Any takers?

Cheers.

Ya i agree, and for those who ordered it, a quick check of the guys email address on google shows his phone number, address of a car dealership, etc. There are too many ways to find this guy, thus i doubt it is a scam.

Well at least you have a paper trail to his name and SS#, I hope it shows for you, I am not sure if Ebay would hold funds he has had the account for a while newbies are the ones getting funds held.

I was flipping used macbook pro's not to long ago.. after I sold 3 paypal froze my account and wouldn't release any funds until I showed them documentation of who my supplier was.

Since then I've been able to sell a lot of high dollar things without issue and without the 21 day/positive feedback hold.

I'd be willing to bet he can't touch the funds until some positive feedback rolls in.
