Another Cryptocurrency crash happening right now after a major Eth wallet provider has been hacked. Third crypto crash of the month. Pity or don't pity the poor sods who built mining rigs this summer without knowing about hacks, crashes, market manipulation and difficulty bombs.

I want to see good OpenGL performance if I am going to buy an AMD card for other than Mac.

Consumer Vega's release is approaching, and we have started to see leaks of benchmarks. Unfortunately these numbers put it exactly in the same range as Vega FE. Basically on par with a slightly overclocked GTX 1080. Given what we know about Vega FE's power consumption, RX Vega is not going to win any efficiency awards when running at even higher clocks.

As we approach the release, it will be interesting to see how AMD positions this against Nvidia's offerings. Its starting to look like Vega is a compute architecture first, and graphics/gaming architecture second. Unfortunately added compute capabilities is not something the very price conscious PC gaming crowd is going to pay extra for.

According to them, and they have very good sources the RX Vega water cooled version will have 699$ price tag.

Bummer. Looks like the top tier Vega RX is going to be a 300 W card and needs water cooling to be competitive with Nvidia, like the Fury X.

So it appears my information again is going to be confirmed...

 Remember when you said Vega was coming out last fall or that it was going to be a 225 W chip?

Lets wait for performance benchmarks with conclusions about this architecture, shall we? :)

And? I have said that RX Vega will cost 699$? Haven't I? I have, actually.

I cannot partake in the excitement yet as my laptop has an NVIDIA chip, and my eGPU card has been repurposed into another PC.
