It looks like FX has been about 50% more expensive than Zen for a while.

It looks that FX still has fuel in the tank.

CPU "Fine Wine" ?

Let's check with the same number of threads:

Maybe FX is already normally bottlenecked by CMT.

Guys, I'm out of the loop when it comes to motherboards when it comes to AMD.
I'm trying to build a PC, so I would need a help with choosing a motherboard. My plan is to purchase a 3700x AMD CPU, and I already have a corsair crystal series 280x case.

I would like to have at least two m2 slots, those would be my biggest requirements. Everything else would be just a bonus.

Can anyone recommend any motherboards so I can check them out?

I think it is better to see what happens with prices when the MSI MAX boards come out.

Well then, since I'm in no rush, I will wait then. Will wait for amd gpu cards from Sapphire as well.

It looks like it is better not to enable PBO or AutoOC which would void your warranty:

PBO is not the same as PB or PB2.

MSI already put four B450 MAX on their website.

Besides the flash chip, I don't know if there are any other hardware improvements. But the specifications are better.

It already comes with Zen 2 compatibility, but it looks like Excavator was removed.

Windows 7 (who is dying soon) was also removed.

It seems they will enter the market at the same price as the boards they replace.

Besides the other MAX announced, some 300-series boards might be coming too.

@cube
From your spreadsheet Anandtech is reporting MSI Gaming edge WiFi as upto 4400 DDR4
Why then are Novatech Uk only including upto 2666mhz DDR4
Which is correct (asking as I was considering upto 3000mhz DDR4 -though maybe 2666 will suffice)
Seen Gears 5 with 1660 TI via you tube
I'll get non TI and get a shot.

MSI's page says 4400.

But it should be better to stay 1:1 with the fabric (it can be overclocked but normally not that high).

Zen2 bios issue looks kinda shaky at this point, but generally, I'm quite amazed by the performance for price ratio. AMD really up the game with their multi-core line up. It's kinda sad to see the latest Mac line up with the price level from the previous generation where the price we had to pay for number of core was substantially higher.

There's ongoing fight between AMD and intel, and the high core count has never been this attractive!.

I just hope that Apple adjust their price of product. With upcoming EPYC, it's going to be interesting to see how much CPU upgrades would cost for a new Mac Pro and, boy I really hope their price is competitive.

Clearly there should be some motherboards that could work as x16, x8/x8, or x8/x4/x4.
