@h9826790 - I'm now looking at the Vega 56 or 64, both of which appear to offer much better performance, at not that much more money.
I'm looking to use this machine for VR in architecture/BIM and GIS.
This is off-topic for this thread, but I'm also interested in a GTX 1070Ti or 1080Ti. The reason for this is that I'd like to use the machine for photogrammetry work. All applications I use in this field require CUDA for this type of workload.
From the information I've absorbed from various MR cMP threads, it seems that nVidia cards can be really problematic - though some in the community seem to have had success; eg:

EDIT: I realized this post wasn't clear as I had not actually asked a question. So here goes:
Given the dual duty that an nVidia GPU could provide me,
would it be a good idea to go with a GTX 1070Ti or 1080Ti?
