Keep getting this error when trying to install Big Sur: "An error occurred while installing the selected updates."

Anyone else getting that?

I miss being able to simply download an installer outside of the Settings panel. Even clicking get in the App Store takes you to the Settings pane. Urgh.

The download was taking way too much time and suddenly at 11.8gb this same error happened to me, I'm on a MacBook Air 128gb and now Other storage is 48.7gb, any way to reduce "Other" size or delete the corrupted file?

YES! I thought it was just me. I restarted and everything before I tried to download Big Sur, but I'm still randomly hanging even though I have essentially no apps running...

Yes! I've been trying to update all day and it keeps failing and so I gave up and decided to get back to work and my computer is practically unusable. All my programs keep hanging on me right after I started this update.

Yes, super slow a few minutes ago. I even restarted the iMac twice. A few icons on my dock were bouncing crazy, like a party was having place.

Now everything is stable again. But still can't download Big Sur. Error.
