Is anyone else's Mac super slow? Like Adguard basically doesn't run anymore, takes everything forever to open and load. It's like my Mac got destroyed or something. All I did was try to install this and got that error.
yes...I. had to force reboot by holding down power several times...this is a Joke..I hope apple hasn't screwed up our systems with some partial install or binary

Same here on a 2019 iMac, what a disappointment and embarrassment for Apple! I just get the message "An error occurred while installing the selected updates.". It had looked like it had started (but was REALLY slow), and then I returned to my machine to discover this message. Tried restarting a couple of times but no progress.

Yup, same problem here. Download failed a few times long before 12GB and now I constantly get this error, and even after a full reboot safari now takes about 5 seconds to launch.

Update: A few mins after reboot, app launch times and general performance seems back to normal...

Any fix for the terribly slow computer performance now? After the download failed now my computer is running extremely slow.
I thought that the performance issue was my imagination but yes even the cursor freezes for some seconds when performing not so demanding tasks.

This sucks and I knew I had to wait to install Big Sur at least one or two days.

Guys, I had all the same issues with the errors and slow performance. Restarting didn't improve anything, but I had the option to update to the latest version of Catalina since I hadn't done it before. This fixed the slow performance, unfortunately I am still unable to update to Big Sur

From the article:

"Hey Apple users: If you're now experiencing hangs launching apps on the Mac, I figured out the problem using Little Snitch. It's trustd connecting to http://ocsp.apple.com Denying that connection fixes it, because OCSP is a soft failure. (Disconnect internet also fixes.)"

I'm fine now, phew.

Thanks, that worked! I assume we have to enable this again when Apple's servers are working again?

Seems like the servers can't handle the load and everyone is having the same issues. I'm going to check back on the update tomorrow or later tonight because it's a waste of time right now.

For people that want a quick fix here it is:
Bash:
sudo nano /etc/hosts

Add this to the end of the file:

127.0.0.1 ocsp.apple.com

That will block the faulty server and make your Mac as fast as before.

Lol one of the largest companies in the world can't release a software update. Slightly embarrassing.....

Also, happens to me too.

Add me to the list of those experiencing the same issue. Hopefully they will have it fixed shortly.
