Samsung hasn't done an Apple-bashing commercial since the Galaxy S5 "Wall-huggers" advert in 2014. In fact, their more modern ads are closer to the Apple style, with music, no dialogue, and animations of multi-colored phones. If not for the 'Samsung' label at the end, I'd forgive someone for mistakening it for an Apple ad.
Can’t forget this classic. ?

Android in decline...? That explains why Apple has been complacent and lacking innovation on iOS and iPadOS...

Show this advert you're talking about, every advert I've seen is quick to identify the phone within the advert.

Everyone copies what Apple does. Even Microsoft with the rounded corners.

The reason is simple--Apple is the barometer everyone else follows, for better or worse. It's not stopping sales, so other OEMs would rather keep copying or risk falling behind.

When iOS 7 came out, if anyone had said 'flat UI is just a fad' it would mean EOL for whomever believed that, all opinions aside. Today, if Apple does it, you'd better believe others will, too. I don't like it, but it is what it is.
They copy each other

All the features apple has had recently and rumoured to get have all been on Samsung devices for a while so technically apple are copying them. Why people seem to think its one way I have no idea

People complaining about shutter lag every year doesn’t sound that great to be honest.

For a point and shoot camera Samsung phones are trash.

Watch your language please
The only area where it can struggle is for quick moving objects for everything else it's great. Most Point and shoots it's fine and produces amazing photos. I would pick the iPhone for quick moving objects but the S21 ultra takes sharper images and is obviously far better at micro and zoom. IPhone still king at video for sure

I almost agree with you but remember notch haircut guy at the apple store. That was classic!

What bothers me is the false negative rubbish I keep hearing about iPhones ?‍♂️

As soon as someone mentions android many flaws, people like you go into defensive mode.

Then go back to the Apple forums and stop trolling in the Alternatives to IOS forum.

Having recently changed from iOS to Android, I've used both as my daily driver within the last year. Android lacks the spit and polish that iOS has, but Android is far more useful IMO.

I use both. I do not see any more or less polish on either at this point. Back in the days of like gingerbread and ICS yes. Now, both are the same when it comes to overall polish. Both are still outclassed by the polish that was on windows mobile. Every app when coded used the same font and general style as the OS. It looked like every app was made by microsoft. It was the best. Damn, wish I could have that again!

I don’t know a single iPhone owner that uses Apple Maps to be fair. Here Waze is even better than Google maps for navigation but both are and always have been better than Apple maps. iOS isn’t defined by it though much like Android isn’t defined by a certain app or feature.
To be fair, Apple Maps is still inaccurate :(
Google Maps has everything.

IM going to pull a apple fan move here now. That notch is no where near the NOTCH of my iphone 11. That's how big the notch should have been in the iPhone. Not what I have.
The notch is useless on Samsung devices, only copying apple in hope of more sales. At least on iPhone it’s houses the industry leading Face ID.

In terms of the polish, I meant more the apps themselves, as opposed to the OS. If you load the same app side-by-side on both, it's often pretty clear that the dev put more effort into making the iOS version a bit smoother.

The ultra wide is iPhones biggest weakness currently but overall image quality the 12 pro max is as good as any phone camera out there. iPhone I would say is still one of the the most consistent for stills out there. I would say the iPhone has been a top 3 camera for at least the past few years. Where it really struggles is zoom and close up shots for micro
Ultra wide is currently the biggest weakness. Zoom is current the biggest weakness, macro is currently the biggest weakness. WOW. that's alot of weaknesses for a "great camera".

Industry leading until there's, say, a global pandemic, and you need to wear a mask...

FaceID is garbage. Biggest mistake I made was going to the 11 from my 8. touchID is miles better.

Or say if you want to unlock your phone on the desk while doing something else to open a calculator or notes app. THere are MANY uses for touch ID over farceID.

Touch ID is yesterdays news, as soon as your fingers are wet or skin is a bit rough, it never works, Face ID 100% accuracy ?
My face id misfires all the time with no mask. If I have my glasses on. supposed to work with sunglass as well NOPE. 100 percent accuracy. YOU NEED TO LAY OFF the KOOL AID buddy.
