Phone rotation lock. Finally, after like, 6-7 something years they FINALLY include this. They like to brag about how they have so many more features that iOS just got, meanwhile iOS has had this since 2010...:roll eyes:

Glad to see that and a system wide "Do Not Disturb" being implemented.

Not really, you can find how to's (such as this) on the web. As it is a preview/beta it may have some bugs, so make sure to backup your device before then.

Thanks for your help. I'm a software tester by trade in process automation. Sadly, I know very little about phones and their inner workings.

While Google just implemented this, there has been phone rotation lock from Android app devs before even iOS had it so please continue to

Doesn't matter. Stock android just got it. The open source nature of Android hides the many disabilities of Android throughout the years but the truth is that Google copies a lot of features from IOS too. And that's okay.

Lawl, we're barely a page in and I can already see this thread ending in a place beginning with W and ending in D.

Maybe I'll be alone in this, but I thought I would put together an equivalent of what we see in the Apple forums. I plan on installing tomorrow if possible. Outside sources are permissible, but please consider citing them.

I noted in the picture you posted that it has time on the lock screen Android already displays that now.

Android has auto rotation lock already. It just didn't have a quick settings way to get to it stock.

So...

Background audio for YouTube?
Background audio for browsers, Chrome?
Bounce-back effect?

Stock Android does not have LOTS of functions that Samsung, HTC and Sony add on their own. Such as support for various controllers, USB OTG, split screen multitasking.

Yeah the multitasking needs to be implemented right away, kinda embarrassing that Sammy has it but not vanilla Android

Some sneak peeks of Android L over at Phandroid

Looks like they still insist on using strange hues. I mean, these colors are better than the god awful shades they use in the calendar, but still something is just a bit....wrong about them. :(
