And this entire forum/site is subjective opinion, anyone saying 'X looks better than Y' is subjective. What's your point?

don't you know that opinions of any kind on any forum are always consider trolling? ;)

I agree though, Android L is pretty hot. Hey, I love the way I have my Kit Kat set up. I get comments all the time like "is that really an Android OS?" "WOW that looks great!", etc. but hey....those people are just trolling in person right....

Enjoy the OS man!

I did so purposefully. Let's just say I was doing a little trolling of another kind. Catch and release is how I roll.

I think it is great to have opinions and express them. But having a thread title that says one is better that the other....well is only going to start something.
It great that people are excited about Android 5.
But saying it is better than anything else is not accurate right now. Has anyone used both?
Until you use something you really can't get a feel for what it truly is.....

I am very pleased to see both Google and Apple move towards a consistent and better looking UI designed for consumers to enjoy. I am really loving all the new tidbits and animations in 5.0. On par with iOS now for sure.

Been following all the early reviews and the new features are fantastic, but L also looks nicer, better designed and smoother/faster than iOS or WP, while of course having a ton more features and customizability. Its amazing!

It looks pretty nice, personally, I like both: iOS and Android's new look. Can't tell for smoothness though.

What I think is pretty funny: weren't Android people mocking iOS updates for providing features that have been on Android for ages? Well, that's pretty much the same with Android Lollipop.

But I'm not even mad (in both directions), because for the end user, this is fantastic. :)

I take it for granted that when someone says product A is better than product B, of course they're stating their opinion, it doesn't bug me. I like hearing other peoples' opinions about products, even if I disagree, and I don't think it's necessary to append "in my opinion" to everything. Well of course, what else would it be?

Where I draw the line is when someone says, product A is better than product B, and therefore people who prefer product B are irrational or stupid. But short of that, sure trash the phone you don't like all you want; even if it's a great phone, it's just a phone.

I forgot to add I got the <sarcasm></sarcasm>

But seriously if someone thinks o/s a is better than o/s b and likes phone c better than phone d. Than go with your gut feeling. No skin off my nose.

I'll 4th that opinion as well.

I'm super psyched that I'll get Lollipop on my Nexus 5 and by then I should have my 6+ with 8.1 on it and can really compare the two. I don't plan on choosing just one though. It's always been my dream to be like Woz and have assloads of gadgets on my person at all times.

Everyone I know is audibly gasping when they hear I ordered and iPhone, but I've always been into gadgets in general, I've just been with Android since the Evo 4G and couldn't go back to smaller screens and less storage. Now I can have both on both. It's a great time to be a gadget enthusiast.

Tell us more about all the experience you have with L and iOS 8.

On what devices?

How many hours of use?

Which functions are key to your daily usage?

it looks amazing!

but i dont know... maybe too white by defaults? when opening a dialer in a dark room, the white, bright, light just goes through your head burning your eyes... i hope there are more options than ... white... for sure you can replace a theme etc, but can you just change that "lots of white" to more grayish?

Completely agree !!! A thousand times over!

They've even taken the app drawer and made it white. And you can't replace settings, dialer etc. I have no idea why they are doing this, but so is Apple and Microsoft, too much blinding white in all products these days.

I would like to see that same theme - showed over and over again - as more user friendly. The whole theme is pretty nice, but like i s a id, too white to use in certain time of the day. It is a curse, that many apps have whitish theme nowadays. It is like devs dont know any other colour than white...

My guess it's to save battery life - because it's so blinding, you'll tend to reduce brightness -> better battery life.

However, for AMOLED a mostly black screen would work best for battery I think?

Oh... the title implied you were actually in possession of a device which is running it. Come back and try again, once you are.

One definite advantage of L over iOS 8 is multiple user accounts. I'm using my mother's iPad this week and it really sucks that I can't make my own user account on it and just access all my stuff and download apps that she won't have to see or pay for.

My kids would love this. We have several iDevices in the house and how cool would it be that they could grab any of them and work on their stuff. I then wouldn't have to worry about them messing with my stuff either.

I semi-agree with this...although there are other issues with multiple accounts. It sometimes turns out the easiest way is to get the kids their own idevice with their own appleid that they don't know the password to, and then lock the idevice down.

This way they get the quality apps and games without the security risks.

What are the other issues with multiple accounts? Multiple accounts really works great for devices that may be laying just around the house and it gives life into old devices you otherwise wouldn't be using once you upgrade your devices.

I'd expect Apple to add such functionality eventually.

There is always bugs with new iOS releases, you just have to wait for things to bed down a little bit, iOS8 is barely new.

But his point was that given the limited number of iDevices bugs should be few and far between. When I was playing with the iPhone 6 plus on launch day the keyboard was bugging out in demo mode. I know that Apple supposedly fixed it but but there should be no excuse for your primary keyboard to flake out. Shouldn't see that from the richest company on the planet.
And don't let me touch on 8.01.

This doesn't really matter to most people as most people were not affected by this. I wasn't everybody I know who could update was not either.

While the issue was real, it was over-sensationalized. As I said in the other thread, the 3 people who had enough are now Samsung customers. To those who weren't affected but were reading how people who don't even have an iphone are using this as a talking point, are shaking our collective heads.
