No, I meant about my battery theory, not your docking one, sorry! Although that would be cool too.

The battery thing is newer than most MWSF 09 rumors. However I really hope that isn't it. It just doesn't fulfill the big bang theory of going out with a blast.

As for the batteries, they should be made by a company called Z-Power. They are promising 40% more life with 95% of the materials being recyclable.

I think this video is telling. The CEO of zPower was talking about his companies batteries at CES 2008. They had a contract to build them for a "yet-to-be-named" laptop manufacture. IMHO Yet to be named should might as well be Apple. He also said that it would have been coming out in the summer of 08. Well the 17" MBP was delayed...

Ah, thanks for that. Well even if it isn't 'the Ihnatko rumour' I think it'd be a wonderful, huge big announcement myself.

My money is on a NetBook. I know Apple has said they don't want to get into that business, but that's what I heard from some friends involved with MWSF.

That 40% better battery life can be huge. I might not have to bring my charger with me everywhere!

Think about it. I currently get ~4 hours battery life with my settings. That means I'll be looking at 5.5 hours or so. Sweeeet! Could optimize that to get something in the area of 7 hours if need be.

Projection?

Hello everyone,

This is my guess based only upon the fact that it hasn't been rumoured and that Microvision have a shiny new web site.

Ipods with built in laser projection.

Regards,

Adam Walton.

This is probably the greatest rumor thread in years. Ihnatko mentions nothing whatsoever in his Twitter post, but despite the complete lack of an actual rumor, everybody will happily fill in the blank with their pet Apple product. The MR snake really can eat itself!
Rumors feeding rumors feeding rumors.

Yes, this truly is interesting to see how it grows.

Ihnatko has been around for years. I would say that he does know something about what will be revealed.

I second sushi. I've been a fan of Ihnatko for ages, I hear him almost every week on macbreak and twit. I believe that if he says there's something big coming at macworld, then there will be something big.

Quite possibly he does, but with this rumor we set new standards for the information which is required to set the speculation races off and running. It's now reduced to none! This is our first Zen rumor. I like it!

Interesting, but they don't seem too Apple compatible right now only offering VGA and not DVI or DisplayPort connectivity.

The production version of SHOW WX is planned to be a simple plug-n-play pico projector for people on-the-go who want to spontaneously view mobile TV, movies, photos, presentations and more. Users could take the pocket-sized projector anywhere, plug it into their portable media players, mobile phones, notebooks and other mobile media devices with TV-Out or VGA functionality and share a big screen experience with friends, family or business associates.

I agree though, it would be a HUGE addition to the iPod, Touch and iPhone hardware lineups.

It wouldn't matter if it was built in though...

True. I'm just thinking if they were that cozy with Apple, their brand new product would be much more Apple friendly.

Would be pretty sweet, regardless. I think we'll see built in projectors eventually, but probably not tomorrow.

You make a good point.

I suppose wishful thinking would say it is more telling that the standalone version isn't equipped with apple ports...

Although I want this to be true, I find it unlikely after Jobs & Co. saying they weren't going to branch into the netbook market at the October notebook event.

Ihnatko doesn't actually say it's related to MacWorld though, could be something Apple are working on for later in the year.

ebook reader, kind of like the Kindle. If anyone' s been listening to his appearances on podcasts, this is something Andy has been wanting to see from Apple for quite some time. Plus, I don't think it's been mentioned as a rumor.

This is all total, out of the blue speculation. I seriously doubt any of this is ever gonna happen, but this list is just for giggles.

Apple Point and Shoot camera
Reboot of an Apple gaming system
Apple-brand Blu-Ray Players
Apple releasing a version of their OS for installation on Windows Machines
Apple TV with Blu-Ray
Power-Glove type devise for manipulation of the cursor and whatnot with your hand

How about Apple.... pies!

I know it's a mad concept, but I think they might be onto a winner!

Apparently you don't follow the news. The Kindle is sold out for months, so obviously there's a demand for that product. Why wouldn't Apple want to get a piece of a burgeoning market, like they did years ago with the ipod?
