Absolutely not.

While I enjoy all of my other Mac devices, my S4 meets all of my needs as a daily driver and integrate nicely with apple ecosystem in my home with simple apps such as dropbox and iSyncr. I also like the fact that I now have the ability to share content with other non-iDevices from friends and family.

I don't know if this was posted and discussed already as I don't visit these forums as frequently anymore, but my goodness, the tides have really changed:

Study finds the iPhone is the most complained about, Samsung Galaxy S4 is the least

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Stud...-about-Samsung-Galaxy-S4-is-the-least_id44932

I don't know if you looked at the source of phonearena's article but you will find it was the Daily Mail (see end of the article). Not exactly The Sun but not the Guardian, Times or Telegraph. I will link to the full article that phoneareana used:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...eople-love-Samsung-Galaxy-S4-study-finds.html

The banner headline reads:

Apple's iPhone 5 is the most hated handset - while the majority of people love the Samsung Galaxy S4, study finds

That tells you a little bit about the "reporting". Who is the source of this "study"? The *analysts* at the "We are Social" group of which most of us must surely know.

What a complete mess of an article and study if you read the sidebar, let alone the rest.

I will most likely change to the next variant of iPhone in 2 years.

After owning 5 of the best Android phones for their time at my 2 year upgrade intervals, I am not impressed anymore. So far, EVERY one has become slow and stuttery after only 3 months of use. This is quite unacceptable.

I like Android, iOS and WP8 all for different reasons. I think iOS is super elegant and you simply can't even argue with the ecosystem. I was driven to Android mostly because I wanted a larger screen. I don't want to have to put on my glasses just to use my phone. But I still use an iPad, so I'm able to keep up with both OS's. I love iOS for many reasons, but I can't go back to the iPhone unless Apple eventually releases a screen that's somewhere near the 5 inch area. For now, I am using an S4 and I have very few complaints.

Yeah, 'polling' of social media isn't exactly what I'd call high quality data. What the headline doesn't point out is that iPhone had over 10X the number of launch day conversations as the S4. Heck, even the Blackberry Z10 had twice the number of social conversations as the S4, and we all know how much the Z10 is 'kicking Samsung's a$$.' What's even funnier is how near the end of the article, it briefly discusses a survey of smartphone owners conducted by Quality Insight in Korea (Samsung's backyard, no less) whose results contradict We Are Social's in every way. Same can be said for the sidebar next to the article discussing J.D. Power and Associates results showing Apple Tops Customer Satisfaction Survey.

I'm not apologizing for Apple either as I don't necessarily disagree with the most common complaints that were made about the iPhone 5, just about the data sourced for this 'article'. Point is this headline was purely to generate clicks with questionable source material to back it up.

The S4 has only been out a few months. Surely people haven't had it long enough to complain that much. The longer a product is out the more opportunity there is to a) notice faults b) complain. Also at this stage more people own the iPhone 5 than the S4, again making the scope for potential complaints greater.

Yes. I hate my galaxy note. It's laggy, the battery life is poor, it keeps switching itself off, the ecosystem, is not as good, it is not as smooth as an iOS device and apps don't work as well. In a nutshell these are the reasons why I'll be going back to iOS. My phone has switched itself off 4 times in the last 2 days:mad:

I see that this "analysis" was aired on ABC TV and someone on CNN picked up on this with an article entitled:

"Who says Apple's iPhone 5 is the 'most-hated smartphone'?"

The 3 issues I have with my Galaxy S3.

1) The rotate function seems sluggish. The iPhone just rotates as you turn the phone, the Galaxy S3 seems to think for a second or two. In fact if you rotate it to landscape, it is so slow at times that it seems to not work, then as you return it to portrait it rotates to landscape, then as you re-rotate it to landscape it rotates back to portrait. (not sure if this is samsung or google)
2) Time it takes to turn on. You can shut off the galaxy S3 and turn it right back on and you always wait for that 2 - 3 seconds for it to light the screen. This is slow enough that I sometimes power up the device again, causing it to blink then shut off. So you now have to hit the button and wait for 2.3 seconds (or so) to see if the phone is going to turn on, then if not... repeat. (this is likely a samsung issue)
3) The music player. I listen to Jimi Hendrix about once a month on flights, treadmill or what have you, and sure enough each time I try to fire up my playlist, it's empty. Perhaps longer than a month, not sure. But when I need it I've always got to add those same three albums in again. Same with two other playlists I have.
So I'm thinking of going back to the iPhone just for those reasons. Of course I'll have to settle for that smaller screen, but functionally, I think it's a touch better.
But I hesitate, as I generally dislike Apple mostly for their 'pay for everything approach', the general nature of their seemingly unbeatable mass popularity, and their inability to play well with others.
But beyond that...

To win me back Apple will need to offer a screen size at least 4.7". I'd also like to see a notification light and official iOS Google Music app.

Honestly aside from the camera and some apps (compared to their iOS equivalent) I am much happier with my S4 Active.

Had an S3 on Verizon. Switched to AT&T today and ordered an iPhone 5S. I was itching to try out iOS 7 to see if the added features/functions are close to my Android setup. I figured why not considering the iPhone always has the highest resell value just in case. I'm looking forward to re-diversifying my phone experience. Ohh and I'm about to pick up a HTC One off Craigslist for a great deal. Can't completely give up Android

Once I'm on the screen and it's rotated to landscape for a game or texting that's fine. It's getting there that is driving me crazy. Plus I have a habit of sticking it in my front pocket. But it's really too big, as I'm pulling it out again to bend over or sit down. Then I slip it in my back pocket, then sit on it. It's going to snap one of these times...

Also typing on an iPhone, (I remember fondly from my 3Gs days) typing was a breeze, but even with swift key it's not as accurate or quick as an iphone. Of course this is based on just picking it up and typing. With time and working through the learning curve, I'm sure it's faster. But I grow weary of learning new user interfaces.

Most likely no. I'm waiting for the Nexus 5 but my current Galaxy Nexus is getting so painfully slow (and battery sucking) that it is driving me a little crazy and in that state of mind I did find myself considering getting an iPhone 5c perhaps if there is some fatal flaw in the Nexus 5, or 4.4 kitkat that I just can't handle.

A part of me really wants to go back to a phone that is small enough for me to use comfortably one-handed and I would get the Moto X except I also want a good camera and the specs (while probably fine) make me a little scared that in two years time I would feel the same way I'm feeling now with my GNex.

If kitkat ends up going further towards Google Now and Google+ (I HATE BOTH) so that I can't use Android without being deeply integrated into these services then I would switch.

The control center in iOS7 makes this a possibility where as before Google would have had to literally produce a lump of coal for me to switch to iOS. But the chances are still ~1% at this point.

I'm probably leaving my GS4 and going back to the iPhone 5S. Not in any hurry to make the change, but it will happen sooner or later.

No.

Got Plants vs Zombies 2 on my Android although in Chinese. Looks great on that 4.7 inch screen.

That was the last reason I saw myself using iPhone was for that game alone. I expect the official release this Fall. I like an OS that lets me dictate what I want from it.

The only real advantages I like from iOS is the stock music player and more games. Android's stock music player app is horrendous but I use Ubermusic with the Metro UI skin for ages. I can easily get an iPod touch or iPad to make up the differences of what I'm missing out. I just prefer Android in terms of versatility and varied designs.

One thing I've noticed since using my iPhone 5 alongside my HTC One is how much better the screen is on the One.

Before, I was using a Nexus 4 alongside the iPod touch 5th gen and the iPod touch easily matched it in clarity and beat it in colour but now, when I view a web page fully zoomed out on the 5, the text is far less clear on some pages and font sizes.

I've often read (and thought myself) that 1080p was unnecessary on phone screens but there is definitely a visible difference to me.

A larger iPhone screen at the same resolution will be at a disadvantage going forward no doubt.

Apple has sorta lost the race with best screen display. They have been using 326ppi for four straight generations at 3.5-4 inches while everybody else is moving onto 1080p resolutions at 400+ ppi. As good as the HTC One has on screen clarity, I've read the LG G2 is even better.

One of my biggest knocks with the last four generations of iPhones isnt the smaller screen size, it is the comfort level. Ever since the 4, iPhones no longer are comfortable to hold for a long period of time with the edgy corners. The iPhone 5/5s isnt the most comfortable phone to hold for a "small phone" even one-handed with that elongated screen size. I have phones at 4.3-4.7 inch screens that can still feel more comfortable to hold because of the rounded corners/back and materials used on the back for better grip.

And getting a case eliminates the beautiful design. Fans are having a tough dilemma picking the right color for it only to cover up the phone with an awful case and babysit it for the next owner. And iPhone 5s will likely be sold for 3 years subsidized and with a ton of discounts months later. What is the rush unless you plan to sell the phone right away. The S-update twin cheapens the prev gen and it will be around for a few years in carrier stores anyway.

I would have been tempted had the iPhone had a 4.7-5" screen. And incorporated something more useful to me than a fingerprint scanner. I don't have password locks or use them.

I will use my yearly upgrade for the first time since 2008 not to get the latest iPhone, but likely the Note 3 instead.

I will look with interest towards the iPhone 6 however.
