You guys are real troopers. This phone feels like a kickstarter campaign without the kickstarter. I don't think you'll necessarily get burned here but may just end up with a phone that you paid way too much for that gets little support and will be on sale for $100 in a year.
I dunno what little support means. If the phone ships with some giant software or hardware bug, it gets sent back.
Quite honestly, buying phones through any of the Android OEM's can sometimes be a crapshoot. I had a good experience with HTC, for example, but apparently many others haven't. Samsung has had a mixed track record, same with OP. Buying a phone from Motorola prior to Lenovo taking over was a pretty terrible experience.
So, basically, I don't see this proposition as any different than anyone else. It's a great form factor with probably stock Android. And if I worried about how much a phone costs in a year, I wouldn't buy any Android flagship at release. Look at the S8 models. All Android phones drop in price, yet people - myself included - still enjoy buying them at launch because we like gadgets.
If this is vaporware and doesn't get released, so be it.

Me too.....Plan on getting this and the Nokia 8
I was originally jumping back and forth between this and a Note8. Now I think the LG V30 will be my other OTHER Android phone this fall.
