Doesn't look like it's going to happen today :(

We'll know for sure when iTunes 12.2 comes out.

Seems weird as those with Apple Watches will want their watchOS update for Apple Music surely?

Could still get iTunes update along with watchOS and iOS 9 beta updates.

sweet apparently iOS 8 backups arent getting deleted from iCloud when u update. i just restored my old iPhone 5 from iOS 9 to iOS 8.4 and it lets me use my most current iPhone 6 backup from before i moved that to iOS 9 as well

Sweet! Would my apple watch on beta 2 keep working if I did that?

I'm stuck now ain't I?

You know it's beta software for developers, right? It's not release software for everyone.

Wow, bold and italic much? Yeah I know it's beta. I'm not complaining that Apple Music is buggy. I'm complaining that it isn't there when beta testers should get first hands on new features, to test them.

But they are not supposed to Test Apple Music. Apple Music is not it Beta.

Since developers don't install Beta software on their day to day devices it doesn't matter anyways.

no the apple watch beta 2 works with iOS 8.4 as well but i am not sure what happens to the watch once u restore your iPhone to a previous backup cuz the whole apple watch backup work flow is still confusing me as well

What if it's a developer who can't afford a second device.

All of the OCD developers only and only on a test device crap on this forum is so lame. Regardless of the intention of Apple beta testing. 90% of the people running ios9 are not developers... Get over it. Apple doesn't realistically give two pinches of crap... And neither should you... Unless you just want to have an OCD, "I got you moment".

It is recommended not to use it on our day to day device, and that recommendation was easy to follow because we have an abundance of iPhones out there. However the watch being a scarse/expensive device, most developers only have 1!

Therefore some of us do not have a choice but to install it on our main devices Because we only own one watch and it's tied to our iPhone which needs to be on ios 9!! What use would my watch be if it wasnt connected to my main device?

It's not in beta, it's release. Entitled much?

That isn't Apples problem though.

Updated my iPad to 8.4 and activated Apple Music trial, this activated it on my iPhone 6 iOS 9 beta 2 and works great.

Well it really should be, given that developers pay $99/yr to make apps that ultimately benefit their platform.

But it's not. You pay for access to the SDKs early, the deployment tools that allow you to sell your app on their hosted platform. You don't pay them $99 to tailor their development and release process to the fact your budget is low when you start up.

If you can afford a Mac to code on and deploy an application with, whining over a measly $99 seems almost petty.

Seeing as they have not released an updated Beta just so people on iOS 9 can use Apple Music, they do care.

Oh yes. Apple is not releasing beta 3 today because they care about test devices not having Apple music.

I didn't say Apple tries to appease people using ios9 beta... They most certainly don't do that. I doubt that beats music has anything to do with when they decide to release iOS nine beta 3. As in it's probably not even a consideration.

My comment was mostly in regards to all the people on here who like to spit out that passive aggressive" you're not a developer ********"... Because seriously... Who cares.

Developers pay $99/yr to develop and test apps and services on pre-release software amongst other things. As far as I know there's nothing of relevance for developers in Apple Music or their radio service for the purposes of development. It'll most likely be included in the Beta 3, ~1-2 weeks of waiting won't hurt. If you're desperate, there is the option to downgrade to iOS 8.4.

I'd also be really interested to know what anyone's app does that requires it to have Apple Music on the device & working to test with.

Apple does allow 3erd party apps to access the music library. There are plenty of alternative music player apps out there. I'm sure that makers of such apps would want to be able to test with the new Apple music integration and system redesign.

My apps do not have anything to so with Apple Music. But I feel we feel like Apple forgot to give back to the community. They should care about us, because they are not much without us.

They've been building this hype for weeks. And few days back we even got a little glimpse of hope with Eddy Cues vague tweets.. I guess that's why he didn't mention any dates.

There's a reason we are developpers, it's because we are forward thinkers and innovators. And Innovators don't like to feel behind, it just goes with our character.

Apple's dev portal says that iOS 9 beta is required for WatchOS 2 beta, so until someone proves that it will work with 8.4, I'd be inclined to not risk it!
