My apps do not have anything to so with Apple Music. But I feel we feel like Apple forgot to give back to the community. They should care about us, because they are not much without us.

They've been building this hype for weeks. And few days back we even got a little bit of hope with Eddy Cues vague tweets.. I guess that's why he didn't mention any dates.

There's a reason we are developpers, it's because we are forward thinkers and innovators. And Innovators don't like to feel behind, it just goes with our character.
Give it another week or two and it'll probably be in the next beta release. Alternatively, you could downgrade to iOS 8 if you want to start using Apple Music.

Apple does allow 3erd party apps to cases the music library. There are plenty of alternative music player apps out there. I'm sure that makers of such apps would want to be able to test with the new Apple music integration and system redesign.

Apple Music API isn't open for developers to use.

They owe us nothing in terms of making sure beta releases for future versions are kept up to date with release. That is what release is for. If you feel you're being left behind because your beta increment isn't kept up to date you're suffering from a serious case of self entitlement.

If you feel you 'need' Apple Music in your life, downgrade. As I've said above, it's not Apple's responsibility to tailor their released to devs with no budget for a second test device.

You have to admit it is kinda a messed up release for a new service. You announce that Beats 1, and Apple music will be available at a certain time. Then don't release it for the public beta testers on iOS 9, or for PC and MAC.

Current release version != beta version release in terms of features. That makes no sense at all.

There are no public beta testers for ios9 at this point.

Help-

so I am running iOS 9 Beta 2. I would like to downgrade to iOS 8.4 to get Apple Music
BUT
I am running El Capitan beta 2 on my Macbook Pro. iTunes 12.2 is not available yet for it.

Am I SOL?

You can downgrade, but I am not sure it is worth the effort. I would just wait it out right now.

Should be soon.

Public Beta testers? Have I missed something? Last I read, it wasn't in public beta.

Can you explain what you mean? I've updated one of my phones to 8.4 and the other to 9b2 and apple music is not showing on 9b2...

Sorry I meant Radio.
Though stuff I add to playlists on my iPad on Apple Music download automatically to the iPhone.

Why on Earth are people downgrading for Apple Music? Is it really worth the amount of disruption it causes?

A new beta could be released at any moment realistically, considering that the Mac + PC versions haven't been released clearly Apple aren't done with software releases. And yes, I know about the beta schedules but lets be honest; Apple doesn't exactly fail to surprise us from time to time.

We've gone this long without Apple Music...

I had an old 4S lying around that I had iOS 9 beta 2 on. Using the Alt + Update method to the 8.4 final firmware produced no errors, and as of yet, no problems using the device with no loss of data (other than notes). I don't know if I would go as far as to say it is a totally safe downgrade. At your own risk.

I'm in the same boat. iOS 9 and El Captitan. I can't even downgrade for some reason. I keep getting a message in tunes telling my version of iOS is incompatible. I've so far tried 8.4 and 8.3 both were supposedly for my model of 5s. It's all a little annoying

No its not. I'm assuming its someone who paid UDID site to get a developer license so they can download the software third party from an IPSW
They probably got the invite email like I did. I'm not a developer but am a public beta tester. I got my invite from Apple to update to iOS 9 last week. I just assumed the public beta had started. Same with El Capitan

I don't know. I honestly don't think its that special. I would much rather be on iOS 9 than on iOS 8 with Apple Music. iOS 9 even has the music app resign!

Please post a pic of the email you got-black out any of your personal info if you'd like. It was made abundantly clear at WWDC 2015 that the Public betas would be available in mid July so not that I think your lying I'm just very surprised by that.

So I'm starting to wonder if iTunes 12.2 missing still is a good thing lol, for us still on iOS 9 and El Capitan lol? Maybe something is going on right now? I mean some people are reporting having downloaded iTunes 12.2 successfully. A lot of other people are reporting issues or that its not there.

For those who got the email—you're on AppleSeed beta. This is definitely not public and this is different from the Apple public betas. It is somewhere in between developer beta and public beta.
