A lot of people going on and on telling other random people how much they don’t care about something is kind of funny.
I returned the X. Felt like my 6s. The plus felt like an actual upgrade

Funny the plus felt like an oversized outdated device that would be a chore to lug around with me at all times.

But I would never own any plus phone just not viable to carry with me at all times. In my opinion of course.

The series 3 with LTE afforded me the luxury of not having to lug around the brick (surfboard) all the time.
Looking at it now, there is an incredible amount of extra space.

dude..haven't you posted in this thread as much as anyone?

What's the use in arguing with people who think the 8 is an inferior phone? It very obviously isn't, it just has the same design as iPhones since 2014.

Maybe I have posted a lot... I didn't count. Either way though I'm not spewing off at the mouth at how great my phone is while bashing the other that just so happens to share the same hardware.

It's not as if I give 2 *#&@s either way... at the end of the day it's just a phone. Does anyone really care what phone someone else uses? I sure don't... but I will definitely respond when I'm told I "made a stupid buying decision."

Ehh... no I didn't. I made a pretty good decision.

Man I do. Are the specs the same ? Someone help me feel good about getting the plus over the x.

its a question of your Owen preference, I like the size of the + and as much that I like to have the X it just too small for me,
and I don't care about all the unlock options ,face finger ID or any. I don't use any of them my iPhone it open all the time

This thread is laced with insecure iphone X owners. You realise people chose to get the 8+? That they considered the available options and went through the process of ordering the smartphone that best suited their needs? If anyone has regret, they usually get 14 days to do something about it. In 12 months time something better will be available and we'll have new threads about how the new X plus (or whatever) isn't a big enough jump to make for X users who will wait for the following year to update. Consumerism is why Apple make money and our wallets persistently suffer just to see colours pop on a screen we don't really need but we really really want.
[doublepost=1511114336][/doublepost]Also, regarding people laughing at people who have phones with bezels. A couple of years ago I had the 6s+ and a relative had a brand new iphone 7 and he genuinely was laughing at me like I was carrying a brick in my pocket because 'that's huge...is that an ipad?' (basically lame banter). But he sat there looking down at me for it. That's the thing with tech. It's forever changing. What also changes is perception of what is deemed universally acceptable or the right form factor - but it's all subjective. Why? Because none of you in this thread will ever use MY phone. The one sitting in MY pocket. If a phone with bezels doesn't bother me, why should it bother you? Why use it as a reason to justify you have the better phone? Nobody cares.

Anyways, this time next year gonna upgrade from the 8+ to the X Plus and gonna belittle all the X owners for having a child size phone cause they're inferior human beings for having small hands*.

*You're all gonna upgrade next year just so you can stay on trend and show off your flagship phone to random people on the train and at work

The kids at the school I work at always know I get the latest device and freak out when I do. Makes it more fun to upgrade, lol.

This thread is hilarious. Reminds me of

Charlie - My dads bigger than your dad
Mikey - Uh uh
Charlie - is so
Mikey - Nuh uh
Charlie - My dad can fly to the moon and beat your dad up
Mikey - Uh uh
Charlie - yes he can
Mikey - Mommmm, Charlie said his dad can beat my dad up
Mom - Both of you go to your room until your dad gets home

No real age limit here--:)

8 Plus all the way because of this:

I have an 8 Plus which I chose over the X having spent time with both. I’m a big watcher of Video on my phone so that’s what sealed the deal for me.

  • iPhone 8 Plus - watch 16:9 content uncompromised.
  • iPhone X - watch 16:9 content cropped with a notch in the way or uncropped with vertical bars. Actual video size is virtually the same as a regular iPhone 6/7/8.

The thinner bezel design is very nice, FaceID is just different and the incremental camera improvements aren’t evident unless shooting in very low light.

Bottom line, if Video is important to you, get a Plus and/or wait until next year to upgrade.

People love to micro a god damn medivac and eight marines, believing they are the lifeline, while all other stuff are way more important (macro, production) and can essentially help to win the game. So many people.

This is a metaphor from Starcraft II for those people who bash users buying an iPhone 8 over iPhone ex, or even users who are choosing to not upgrade their iPhone.

I am not an insecure X owner at all. I believe I joined this thread after many comments from 8 plus user claiming how much better the plus was because of the screen size difference. Honestly this whole section of the sub forum has been filled with nonstop post about why the X is so bad and the 8 plus is better. I think the insecure ones are the 8 plus users. Frankly I don’t care what iPhone you use. It’s when someone try’s to justify their purchase by trashing mine. Get what you want, but that does not mean someone else’s phone is worse.

I do think there were 8 plus users that regretted getting it after they saw the X. While that might not be the majority, I do think it was the case. As was the case with many thinking the X would be bigger and wanting to go back to the plus. I get both, but we just don’t need 100 threads telling us about it.

Jony Ive is apparently not a fan of last year's iPhone design - BGRhttps://apple.news/A_1qB1frdTASSqJSpigOG3Q

“Upon picking up an iPhone 7 Plus, Ive remarked: “It now seems to me a rather disconnected component housed in an enclosure.” A brutally harsh assessment for a device that was just released last year, but ultimately a testament to the game changing design of the iPhone X.”

I guess Ive didn’t much care for the iPhone 7 Plus design either.

seems odd to me that so many 8/8+ owners in this thread have no regrets but vehemently defend their choice
And why wouldn't we when a majority of the posts here seem to shame those of us not willing to make the switch. IMO be happy with what you got, whether it's the 8 Plus or X.

I went with the 8+, and I really like it. I haven't used an X, so what do I know, but I am really enjoying the 8+. It's fast, it sounds great, I really like the screen, I like the back, and what a great camera. I'm sure the X is brilliant, not knocking it. I'mma wait until the next iteration tho.

Maybe more X users in this thread (I doubt it, but going with what you are saying), but as a whole, this sub forum is filled with 8 plus users like your self starting threads about how terrible the X is.

Exactly. We’ve been called “poor”, “afraid to change”, “stupid”, “jealous”... all kinds of wonderful terms in multiple threads. We can never voice our opinion without someone feeling the need to cape for the X. I’m not caping for a phone. I chose what I chose and I chose it based on my own research and reasoning. When I state my reasons of going with the 8 Plus and someone with an X can’t handle that, then it’s their problem. My personal choice does not reflect on anyone here, but some like to fuel the fire and be passive aggressive or just straight confrontational. I choose the higher ground at this point. I’m still happy for anyone who has whatever phone they chose and is content with it.

Maybe a bit presumptuous as I've never started such a thread in this forum but see plenty of them on both sides. If one has tried both then it seems reasonable we should hear from them, regardless of what they've chosen.

Presumptuous of me? I was not assuming you made a thread. I was just saying the iPhone 8 Plus users in general. I don’t mind hearing from them, but telling how terrible the X is because they choice to 8 Plus is not useful at all. Don’t kind yourself, a lot of these 8 plus users have never used an X.

I wanted an X but couldn’t wait because I needed a new phone in September (well August, really). I’m super happy with my 8 plus, though. And holding out for an X plus someday.

I am super happy with the 8+ fetching as much as it did so I could get the X.
No regrets getting the 8+ though.

I completely understand this logic. I think that makes sense, and sorry to hear you couldn’t get the X thought the 8 plus is not a bad choice.
