I've had an 8+ since early october, I was upset when hearing about the positive experiences about the X, then, I finally got to hold the X and use it, see the camera, I am so satisfied with my phone, I love my 8+, for me personally, the X is too small for me to hold, I want a much bigger phone, I don't like how small it is to hold, the screen looks good, but I'm personally not too crazy about it, to me, it doesn't look as amazing as people are saying it is, but thats just me. I will for sure be getting the plus sized version next year when that comes out. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my 8+ and haven't regretted it one bit.

Face ID is merely about unlocking the phone. How the phone unlocks is a tiny part of the whole experience of owning an iPhone, especially as it's takes about two seconds. If I have a hotel room, do I really care that much about how the door unlocks? Would I choose a hotel room based upon how the door unlocks? I care only about the room itself. Why is there such an emphasis on unlocking? Unlocking like a non-issue to me.

The notch is horrible and that is a big issue to me. The notch compromises the viewing experience in a substantial way, all the time.

The viewing area for videos is too small on the X. Smaller than the plus, unless I accept notch interference, which I won't.

I also have a big problem with sound on the X. Sounds harsh and tinny.

Other problems with the X too.

I returned my X. Sticking with the 7 Plus for now. Hoping for a X Plus next year.

Wife loves her X
I love my 8+
Someone else loves our old galaxy phones

Life is good. Oled screens are cool, but let's be real. Even the 6.3" note 8 super amoled screen is "small" compared to a tablet or tv. I watch nearly all my content on my tv or computer. I don't need oled on a phone I realized. The s8+ I'm coming from most definitely looked better than the 8 plus, but the user experience is better on the iPhone. To iPhone lifers who haven't owned an Android with oled, I can totally get the excitement. It does look better, but the LCD on the 8 plus is more than good enough for me to stay in touch with friends and family and browse forums and Reddit. If you stream Netflix and YouTube all day then oled is possibly a must have. I'm enjoying my first lcd and don't really miss the sharpness. I'll even consider the X+ lcd that is rumored.

This thread is laced with insecure iphone X owners. You realise people chose to get the 8+? That they considered the available options and went through the process of ordering the smartphone that best suited their needs? If anyone has regret, they usually get 14 days to do something about it. In 12 months time something better will be available and we'll have new threads about how the new X plus (or whatever) isn't a big enough jump to make for X users who will wait for the following year to update. Consumerism is why Apple make money and our wallets persistently suffer just to see colours pop on a screen we don't really need but we really really want.
[doublepost=1511114336][/doublepost]Also, regarding people laughing at people who have phones with bezels. A couple of years ago I had the 6s+ and a relative had a brand new iphone 7 and he genuinely was laughing at me like I was carrying a brick in my pocket because 'that's huge...is that an ipad?' (basically lame banter). But he sat there looking down at me for it. That's the thing with tech. It's forever changing. What also changes is perception of what is deemed universally acceptable or the right form factor - but it's all subjective. Why? Because none of you in this thread will ever use MY phone. The one sitting in MY pocket. If a phone with bezels doesn't bother me, why should it bother you? Why use it as a reason to justify you have the better phone? Nobody cares.

Anyways, this time next year gonna upgrade from the 8+ to the X Plus and gonna belittle all the X owners for having a child size phone cause they're inferior human beings for having small hands*.

*You're all gonna upgrade next year just so you can stay on trend and show off your flagship phone to random people on the train and at work
--wow you sound angry, lol

I regret not getting the 8 Plus sooner. I held out for the X and got one on launch day. Could not stand the smaller size, aspect ratio in regards to compromised video size, and rendering of web pages in landscape due to the notch. Battery life was also not better than my 7 Plus. I exchanged it a few days later for the 8 Plus.

What? The iPhone X is the first iPhone that the speakers could actually be used to listen to music in a pinch.

As far as the notch you are the first person I have heard that even notices it after the first day.

The X (from 7) is the most significant iPhone upgrade I have had in all my years of iPhone ownership. The difference is drastic for me. I don’t reach for the iPad nearly as much as I used to.

I have no regrets about getting the iPhone 8+ over the X. I got a BOGO on the 8+ from T-Mobile which effectively made the price of each 8+ $450.00. There is no way anyone can convince me that the X is $550 better than the 8+ (although I realize this is subjective). If I had paid full price for the 8+ then maybe would have a twinge of not having the latest and greatest but in all honestly I wasn't that blown away by the X (or the 8+ over the 7+ for that matter)

I for one went from 7+ to X and for one week I was enjoying the X but I could not get use to the size of the phone, in all reality it is not a 5.8 inch phone apple counts the left and right of the notch has a display when in reality you probably only using 5.15 inch of the full screen. So I sold it and got myself the 8 Plus 256GB and man I missed the size and the comfort it is, I had the plus size phone since the I6+. Maybe with I go back to the X if it comes out in the Plus size this upcoming year...

No regrets of going to 8 Plus after a month with the X.
