I returned my iPad Pro 11" and exchanged it for a 12.9" model! Just for additional $200 more; you get alot more iPad functionality and it still great for one handed use too! I love it! The 11" felt sort of small when I was using it along side the 12.9" at the Apple store!

I found exactly the same thing.

I thought the new 12.9 would be to big but once I tried it in store then tried the 11" I found the 11" felt really small. Based on this I have decided in the next couple months I will be trading up to the 12.9.

I invested nearly £1400 in my LTE 256GB 10.5" iPad Pro, pencil, keyboard/case & sleeve last year. It will cost over £1500 to replace the current spec like-for-like just to gain 0.5" and FaceID.

No thanks.
I paid $500 used for your setup (minus sleeve) in late August. Seems like I could actually sell it for more now since Apple kept the 10.5” model in its lineup.

My devices always go EOL

SE
x
12.9 gen 2 lol
9.7 pro

The only non EOL I currently have is XR

I have a 2002 iPod, 2007 iPhone, and iPad 1 and iPad 2 that are still kicking. Apple products have lasted me a very long time. :) my late 2008 MBP is the jukebox in my music room.

2nd gen pencil seems lighter and better. But I would absolutely miss my slick wrap first gen

Especially being able to use it between two iPads even tho it’s synced w my 12.9 95 percent of the time

That is a slick pencil wrap! :)

I’m going to wait until next year and look for a deal before upgrading. iOS 13 is where the rubber should hit the road for these new iPads. I expect the USB-C models to be given more “computer-like” powers with the next release. Less than 8 months until WWDC! Then we will find out.

Not that fond of the new folio keyboard either

It’s nice it protects the back / is slimmer

But the keys resting against the screen or with minimal gap is sure to scratch it

And two angles isn’t enough. Shouldve been even more like 3 or 4

Too bad the iMac G4’s screen pivot mechanism couldn’t be repurposed somehow. That would be sweet.

I called up Apple last night and asked them about their returns policy

I still have my unopened iPad latest gen 10.5" (competition winner) for sale on a couple of places and still no one has bought it, I even have it as a bundle with the Logitech Slim Keyboard and the 1st Gen Pencil.

This is really annoying me and don't want to drop it any further to sell it for peanuts, I haven't even had any offers

I'm now actually thinking of returning the 11" and Pencil, opening the iPad 10.5 and using that for the new few years.

I pad £1500 and actually think that would look good back on my bank balance....hmmm

I don't actually feel it any quicker than my old device, Face ID is just a gimmick, a press of the finger is quite adequate and the software just isn't up to par for what the 11" can do and Apple ain't changing that anytime soon, and which is one of the main reasons. Pro device with the bottleneck software!

I'll have another think about it but seriously thinking this needs to go back

So your mad that no one will by your iPad that you got for free, acne though irs last years model? Right. Tell me how face is is as gimmic when it’s the most secure form of authentication on the market used by millions every single day. Apple is not bringing back Touch ID for iPhone anytime soon. Deal with it

Bring it back and enjoy the extra money in your bank account. If it turns out you actually need the new iPad Pro, you can always pick up another one. After all, Apple is making 10 million of these things.

I bought my 11 last night. Came from the 10.5. A lot of it feels the same to me, but a lot feels so different. The design makes it a better experience in my opinion. The screen, reduced bezels make it so much better. Lack of a home button is what seals the deal for me. I hated that thing.

I upgraded from the 10.5 to the 11 as well. I am loving it but now I need a TON of the apps I use to upgrade. The black bars are horrendous (and the major reason I upgraded was for the form factor being the same size with more screen)!

It was inevitable that I would eventually cave. Opted for cellular model this time around though. The 11” feels very familiar coming from 10.5”. I am digging it so far. Purchased the Apple folio and Pencil as well.

To Swappa goes my 10.5”

Just picked up 11 inch and it’s an awesome device. 10.5 gets handed down. Love the redesign with the flat sides too. No regrets going from 10.5 to 11.

Also I’ll mention that I picked up the new smart folio in white and it is perfect for my needs. I don’t get the compliants (it’s sharp) other than the obvious premium price you pay for it. It’s an excellent case IMHO.

I've upgraded almost every year, with the exception of the 4. Going from the 9.7 Pro to the 10.5 Pro was a marginal upgrade, but just enough to make it worthwhile, and I did not have to buy a new Pencil.

I was trying to find some reasonable rationalization to go to the 11, but just could not find one. The 11 is seriously impressive from the spec (an overkill) and design point of view, but the 10.5 is already a beast for most iOS applications.

I also prefer the Smart Keyboard on the 10.5 since it is so light and easy to remove. Not much different than a normal cover.

Plus the thought of having to purchase all the accessories all over again was just too much. This time, I'm sitting it out until the next iteration. Perhaps by then iOS will have caught up with the hardware specs. In the mean time, I got a Surface Pro 6 in its place and will see how that goes.

If the net difference of what you can get for the 10.5 and the 11 is £300 or more I'd say stick with the 10.5

I did and I returned it. To be honest I didn’t really notice a difference in performance. Something about the design bothered me. I don’t know, it just didn’t look right to me. I didn’t like the Antenna line or the big camera bump that was mostly a black ring with a little camera inside. The pins on the back are very ugly, especially on the Space Gray model. Everyone seems to be obsessed with small bezels yet the side bezels have grown significantly on the 11. I really hated the new Pencil. It felt cheap and flimsy. I preferred the longer and heftier design of the original. It felt better in my hand. I didn’t really care about the new charging method. It really wasn’t a big deal to charge it with the iPad or the adapter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I didn’t like keeping it on the side. I know I would have eventually hit it against something. It wasn’t a loss because I usually carry my iPad in a sleeve with pockets and I always kept my pencil in it’s own little leather sleeve. In the end what convinced me to return it was the Ram. Both have 4gb. The new model has some new features, but internally it’s a marginal upgrade that didn’t warrant the cost. I love my 10.5 and I really didn’t want to part with it. It’s been a great device and it’s still buttery smooth. I might upgrade when the newer model get a ram bump, until then I’m more than happy with the 10.5.

This is my thoughts exactly on the bezels. While they say it is “edge to edge” the bezels are still huge. My 10.5 seems to have smaller size bezels. The 11 is very nice but doesn’t seem to be worth it from my 10.5 however the more I see it the more tempted I am....

The 10.5” in taller in LANDSCAPE (meaning you can see more of the page vertically) than the 11” iPad Pro. That’s my primary problem with it. When we went from the 9.7” to 10.5”, there was a clear advantage to the height gained in landscape. However, the 11” gives up a small bit of height and gives you a wider screen. Not sure it’s worth the trade off IMO.
