Are you going to upgrade from your series 4 to the series 6?

My series 4 SS still looks and works great. AOD would be great for swimming but I'll wait for the 7. Pulse ox is not something I would be checking regularly and if I did I would just get a finger sensor for £20 which probably would work better anyway. I do like SBSS so I hope that is coming back
My Huawei GT2e measures oxygenation with better precision than the finger apparatus I also have, when tested against hospital equipment, so one would hope Apple isn't worse than a watch half the price.

I used to have 2 AW4 to always wear one, not even a charging break. Since i destroyed one at some point i will now get an AW6, which will be my main one while my other watch will be the backup.

Meh, I was passively interested in a new Watch, but I’ve honestly been completely happy with my S4. Nothing in the S5/S6 really entices me like the heart features in the S4. Plus my battery life is still more than sufficient. I’ll be holding off for Series 7.

I am still happy with my AW4, but the AOD is a feature that I already wanted last year and when I heard that they improved it this year I've ordered a S6. :) Probably it would be more intelligent to wait for the S7, but hey, why not. :D

This is an aggravating issue for me. I had the white ceramic S3 which I loved, then they got rid of ceramic in S4 so I went with SBSS. I skipped S5 cause I didn't care for the minor upgrade but they had the ceramic. I was definitely going to get the S6, but now they killed off the ceramic edition again. If I'm just going to stick with another SS again I don't think I'll get the S6.....

I have the series 4. I have been watching these threads since the series 6 been announced. At the moment I am happy with my series 4. I still have Apple Care+ till March 2021 and the watch has been working without any issues for me. Yes always on display would be nice. However I have done fine without it. I feel the series 7 will be a complete redesign and then I will go for that. Plus with the new software update I feel like this is a new watch anyway for me :)

I upgraded my series 4 44mm to a series 6 44mm. Originally I was going to go for stainless steel but after seeing that new blue color I settled for aluminum in blue.

No it doesn’t. How ridiculously over dramatic...

You are so right! I have a space gray aluminum S5 and my Mom has a black titanium S5 neither one look like a toy. Aluminum has never looked cheap. Hell  doesn’t do cheap in anything they do.

Unfortunately, a lot of people around here seem to have their self worth tied up in and measured by the Apple products they buy. That is why they make snarky, illogical statements like you saw, so that they can convince themselves of a truth that doesn’t exist.

I got the 6, coming from the 4 and so far love it.

AOD is how useful you need it, I really love it especially useful when you’re writing, your wrist is on the table and you don’t need to raise it to see the time. Plus, blood oxygen, as someone that likes looking after myself and general wellbeing, this is a neat little trick to have :)

That pretty much sums up my perception of these people. It’s sad that such a snobbery has developed in the tech world yet none of these people realise that most don’t see it the way they do.

I’ve had two aluminium watches myself and they’ve been great. Never has anybody said they look cheap or like a toy because they don’t. An Apple Watch is an Apple Watch

No watch this year as well as no iPhone. My two series 4 watches will last another year and so will my XS Max.

Said people have trouble seeing tech reality because they view this forum and other similar places online as a valid representation of the whole when in reality, said people that often visit and post here are a very small illogical subset of the tech whole. The real problem is they believe they represent the vast majority of the way tech people think about their products.

So many here unable to make an informed decision regarding a possible purchase, or constantly overbuying so that they can feel on top of the tech forum for a few fleeting moments before buyers remorse kicks in and the irrational comparisons start being made. It is a Mad Magazine parody.

Came from a 4 and have got my red 6 last friday.
First thing I did was turning off AOD.
Don´t need it.

I like the red. I think by disabling AOD, I’ve always used Raise-to-wake come and it’s always been sufficient for me. I do think AOD is definitely a feature to have in those moments where RTW wouldn’t always be sufficient, but the one thing I’m glad Apple did you right, they give you the option of disabling AOD versus enabling it in a permanent state.

Wearing a 44mm space grey AW4 since Nov. 2018, will receive a 44mm blue AW6 tomorrow & decide w/ in the 14day return period if the upgrade is worth keeping the 6 & using the 4 as a backup.

50/50 chance BGG as the 4 gets used mucho for lap swimming etc. as having a backup *whatever* was taught to me long ago by a mentor, 2 is 1 in my world.

I think the snobbery is ridiculous, i’m not going out my way to just tell someone publicly/in real life oh hey your 400.00 watch looks cheap. Like if I see one I just don’t compliment it, if I see a SS I compliment it because it usually just looks really nice. I don’t think looking down on someone because they buy an aluminum Apple Watch is a good thing to do.

But I got a SS s4 and it’s in perfect condition even though I constantly hit it against granite and brick, etc so I don’t think the few features is worth another 800 thrown to Apple. Plus there’s no blue SS this year

Even though you have an obvious attachment to your series 4, I expect an honest viewing and review of your series 6. Keeping the series 6 would not be cheating on your beloved series 4. :p

I can see the crack in your watch armor already. It is a done deal. You just don’t realize it yet. It is akin to your girlfriend or wife telling you she doesn’t care whether choice A or B is picked, and being male, you somehow think she truly means it. Ha

I react to all Apple watches the same because to me regardless of what material the case is, they are essentially the same impressive smartwatch. The aluminium doesn’t look cheap so of course people shouldn’t look down on the vast majority of AW users who have chosen to buy it.

The only thing that stops me from buying the SS versions is the resell and trade in value. If it wasn’t so bad I would’ve opted for the SS instead of aluminum. I upgrade my Apple Watches every 2 years, but this may be the first year I stretch it to 3. So far my S4 is doing okay.
