Probably not. The series 0 is still ok (ish!!).
It's almost an antique. Time to pimp it!

Probably. I have a series 4 but the GPS is sometimes wonky so I’m hoping it’s a little better on a newer model. I have the LTE, but this time around I may go just with GPS.

Possibly depending on the features. However, I am enjoying not having another device to charge. I really don’t like getting tapped on the wrist, so I’m not sure if I’d get another one or just reassess the notifications and such. The activity tracking is both good and bad for me personally. Not sure what other activity tracker I’d even go with though.

I have the 4, so depending on the new features I may. If not, I may just grab a 5 if it goes on sale.

Nah i have the series 4 and it would take a lot to convince me to upgrade from this.

I change my mind. If Verizon let me trade in my S4 for the S6, then I’ll take the extra $200 I saved towards the 512GB 12 Pro Max and upgrade to the 256GB version instead, and use the $200 towards the S6, so I’ll be upgrading in the fall.

I have a 40mm S4 WiFi model and will likely upgrade to the S6 cellular. I can't say for sure because I haven't seen what it's going to be but unless they do something crazy like copy Samsung I don't see why I won't upgrade.

I am hoping there is a new feature we haven’t heard about with the Series 6. The stainless model is expensive for a yearly update. If there is another useful feature besides SPo2, that would probably be enough of a nudge to push the buy button for me.
I hear that. My s2 and s4 are Space Black stainless... I’m convinced it is more durable, I prefer the look of the space black, and the heft that SS has feels better (less cheap) to me. But especially since cellular is not optional on the stainless, they’re even more expensive than they were on the pre-cellular models.

It would be nice if they were on a cadence like the iPhone used to have (with an “S“ year); there haven’t been enough released to identify a pattern like that yet though, it’s just that the 5 seemed kind of like an S year with such minor updates to the hardware.

I'd doubt it, but I'd love to see a cheaper price on the SS models.

Unfortunately, the price of the stainless has only increased since it’s debut five years ago. I think personally is because of the cost of materials when you look at 316l stainless, and for what it takes Apple to high polish the casing, let alone adding a sapphire display. We all know they ‘Up charge’ their products, but I do think a big part of this is what the suppliers are actually charging for the materials itself.

I’m on a 4 so will be getting the 6 as the 5 was such a tiny upgrade over the 4.

Hoping white ceramic is still available.

With Apples buying power I doubt they are paying more per Kg than anyone else. Sure the machining time will be fractionally more but the mark up is still in the high 80’s I would say between this and a machined aluminium version. I find it difficult to justify these things when I know the processes so well.

When I see the amount of cheap Fossil watches with a stainless steel casing, I wonder how Apple could add such a premium on their watches. I don't mind paying more over the aluminum model, but the price difference is somewhat obscene.

I have an S5, and it's almost never worth the year over year upgrade, so I doubt it. But there have been so few rumors, so I really don't know what to expect from the S6.

Indeed. I don’t think the markup is due to materials and processes being 200% more expensive, in fact I know it’s not. I think they do it because they have briefed the consumer through their marketing to accept it as a more premium offering. I’ll be honest and say I am perfectly fine with the aluminium models as I like the weight and quality and I’m on my second watch now since 2017.

I'll be buying either a 6 or 5 for my wife. Just depends on what the 6 has over the 5. The crown on her 4 stopped working a month or so ago. I called apple and they would replace it for $300, but we decided just to wait for the new one to come out.

I too like the look of the space black. The main reason I get the SS SB model, is the durability of the casing and the sapphire glass. If Apple offered a option for the aluminum with sapphire screen, I would give that a go this year. If I do get the series 6, I will hang onto it for a few years, unless Apple come up with something phenomenal next year.

I’m surprised Apple didn’t replace that to be fair. My wife’s S2 stopped working and Apple checked it and confirmed it was dead. They asked if she’d bought it through them because they replace it but unfortunately she hadn’t.

The S5 is a decent watch though, it would be an even better buy if you can find a lightly used one and get for much cheaper. In the last couple of weeks I’ve turned AOD off and I’ve gained 30% battery life a day which I’m pleased about. I can’t think of anything I need on a watch that it doesn’t already offer?

It depends on what the watch is. If the S6 is the same battery life, or worse, then no. If the battery is at the 4 or even better I'd probably take a shot at it.

It really just depends on what improvements, if any, the watch has. We really have no facts about it.
