Great choice- that’s the same configuration I ordered! Ordered mine yesterday and shows delivery date of Sept 25-29, but is currently showing preparing to ship- so hoping for sooner!

When I had it in my cart yesterday, those were the dates I was shown. So a little surprised that it slipped to October, but at least it’s not too long of a wait. Wish we had gotten a Sports band in the plum color as well.

I was one of the few that purchased the Series 5. After going onto Apple's website and comparing both models the only thing I am missing is the blood oxygen sensor and I don't think that is worth shelling out $430 plus tax.

I doubt consumers are using 70% of all the health technology Apple is including. But that still says something that how many options are now available on the Apple Watch given all the health detection/sensors, but I generally find people are using the Apple Watch at least 50% for the ease of communication without having their phone with them all the time.

Anyways, I’ve said it’s at least a dozen times throughout various threads, but you’re not the audience Apple wants for the Series 6, it’s mainly directed at S3 owners and below.

Upgrading from S4 to S6. Was hoping the S5 was going to go on sale so I could grab one instead but since they are pretty much the same price as the S6, ended up just getting one and selling my 4.

Wasn’t the SE pretty much the same as the the 5?

Likely the choice of band pushing the date out.

I bet if you mock an order up with a different band you'll find an early October date and maybe even still late September.
Shall I buy the band separately? But anyways, I have the feeling that I will get around October.

Maybe you don’t understand how mass supplying works. (And I’m not claiming that I have a full understanding either), but why would they ‘Knock off‘ $5-$10 off? They probably mark off more like $.30 to the dollar, given how many units they are actually are saving money by not including the charging brick. What you’re saying, would make more sense if Apple produced 500 of XYZ units, not when they’re producing millions of Apple Watches to Subtract a fraction of what it costs to produce a brick Charger.

I'm aware the cost for them is low, I'm just thinking more in the line of what they would retail the brick for if they sold it in the store (I couldn't find it, if they even sell it?).

That would make more sense. Ship without charger brick (for the environment), knock $10 off the price of the watch, then sell the brick in the store for $10 for those who absolutely need it. I could totally defend a decision like that.

But the way they do it now it's only about margins, nothing else.

Except that you can't possibly think they'd eliminate a brick that costs them maybe 50 cents to make(*) and then knock $10 off the price.

If someone *really* needs a 5W single port adapter, there's tons available at ~$5 at retail at Target, convenience stores, drug stores, etc. If OEM Apple is required, they're under $5 delivered via ebay.

(*) look at volume pricing of 5W bricks on Alibaba and they're sold for ~60 cents each, so I'd expect Apple's cost to be below that.

I think it has a few features missing like AOD but mostly similar.

So I'm curious as a fellow S4 user, what pushed you over the edge for S6? I'm in that divide between s6 is not that different from the s4 and s7 will be REALLY new!

Well I do tend to upgrade my watches on a 2 year cycle so I was due, but I was planning on grabbing the 5 until I saw that there were none on sale. The blood oxygen feature is nice to have, but if I could’ve gotten the S5 at a discounted price, I would’ve.

oh and not to mention, that blue is gorgeous.

Just ordered two series 6 40mm watches for myself and my wife. One thing I wish they would add to their site is the ability to order without a band for less money. The bands stand alone are at least $50 from apple but say you have one you bought for a previous gen or aftermarket. Would be nice to save the money they’re charging extra for one. Also, sold my series 3 a couple years ago so of course the next one I buy is the one they remove the included charger. 🤷🏼‍♂️Haha
Oh well, just an excuse to get a new wireless charger to take care of the phone and watch. Either way I’m excited.

still REALLY crossing my fingers for a round one some day.

Edit: well damn I just realized they are including a charger but not the adapter. I thought it was both the charger and adapter being excluded... 🤦🏼‍♂️

Without a band would be good for the higher end watches. At least you can sort of swap them now when buying except for the Hermes and Nike watches. Those you have to get separately.

Would even be environmentally friendly, all these unused bands...

But I agree, I have enough bands so that I would not need an additional one...

Speaking of bands, any of you who've already ordered getting a loop or braided loop? I personally hate the sport bands but I love the woven sport loops. I'm thinking of getting a series 6 and I like the idea of the new buckle-less loops, I'm just not sure if I'll like them on my wrist. Very curious what people think of them in real life. Is the woven worth $50 more?

No, I will not get one of these. With all of my watches I often have the need to alter the length of the loop, depending e.g. the temperature or what I am currently doing.

Just bought one. Waited for initial reviews and to see how that family thing worked. I wanted AOD while biking and kayaking.

There's only been a few unboxing reviews posted so far on Youtube. So far, the braided solo loop has been well loved by reviewers. I think it's going to be exceptional.
