Yeah, This is a minor update. I am happy with my Ceramic S5. Next year, I think we will see a major update.
What would you consider a “major” update? People have said the series 6 was going to be a major update last year as the series 5 was a very minor update from the series 4

Torn big time here.

Series 5 owner.

Have been battling upgrading to Cellular model as I have been getting more active/swimming a lot more/controlling music from my watch.
Sleep apnea issues so hopefully this would help with the O2/sleep tracking.
$180 trade in available to help the price dent.

Might as well keep the annual tradition of upgrading though!

Well the S6 certainly isn't a major update. My thinking is that the design will be over 6 years old next year so a design tweak must be due. Perhaps thinner with larger screens, full AOD, better battery life, facetime calling, complete independence from the phone and maybe a different way of charging

I already have a 42mm SS AW5, so no. If the resell value of these wasn't so bad, I'd consider it. The most I could get is around $400. For a $749 device, it's not worth it. $240 trade in.

Anyone know if when trading into to Apple you have to send in the watch band with the watch or just the watch is required?

Figure this is as good a place as any to ask :)

From past experience it's just the watch itself. No charger, no cable, no band.

The funny part is that they make it sound like it's because of the enviroment, but really we all know it's about maximizing profit.
I have no problem with the elimination of the charger. I must have at least 9 of them lying around. I would venture to guess most people have a Usb charger already.

I have a series 3 (aluminum) and am considering the upgrade to the series 6 stainless steel.

I am not crazy about the aluminum finish but the price is right. Stainless steel and Titanium get pricey quick! If I got more than a few years out of this, I'd be more inclined to go with it.

Agreed. Or even USB sockets in the wall.

Exactly. The yearly refresh doesn’t put the premium models in my price bracket.

I tend to upgrade my AW every 3 years but totally agree on the price. £399 for the aluminium is about the right price for a smartwatch with a limited lift span I think. I’d never entertain a stainless or titanium at full retail price as I can’t get my head around being charged £300-400 more just for a different case material and sapphire glass panel. It just seems grossly overpriced to me. Also, seeing as these watches gather dust in a drawer after a few years I’m less bothered about keeping my watch absolutely scratch free.

One bonus though is the fact the value of Apple watches absolutely plummet in quite a short space of time. Stainless S5’s can be picked up for around £300 and many are hardly worn. They can be a very good secondhand buy and it’s not like they aren’t easy to clean thoroughly.

I had a Stainless Steel version (series 0? The very first ones that came out), I gave it to my 16 year old when I switched to a Samsung S10+ - but came back to Iphone - and now need a watch. His watch is still holding out (screen popped off, but my husband managed to glue it back down, so my son is still able to use it!)

So now, I needed a new watch.. and just ordered a Series 6 Gold Aluminum with Plum Sport Loop. I was tempted to order the blue, but it was just too dark for me. If they had a sky blue one like the new Ipad Air - I would've ordered that. Dark blue was too "manly" for me!

Never bought the Apple Watch and never been a watch guy myself, but now with the O2 inclusion im getting it just for health reasons. I was holding out until there were more sensors, and now with pulse/EKG/O2 its a no brainer for me.

Plus cant beat the 18 dollars a month cost :D

Depends on if there is a new ceramic Edition. I have a Series 3 white ceramic and I love it. Series 6 ceramic is a no brainer. If there is no ceramic I'll have to ponder it... fingers crossed.

So I ultimately decided to *keep* the S3 Ceramic in addition to the S6 Titanium I just purchased. I just can't bring myself to part with the Ceramic because I love the look, so I read up on the ability to auto-switch between watches. Will keep it around so I have some variety and can swap them out on the charger for 24/7 wear.

I went with the new "Blue" color to match my new Truck 🤣

I was going to get the Gold Stainless but the fact that they have removed the sapphire display from the new page listing has put my plans on hold. That was always a selling feature for the Stainless models.

Does that actually mean they are no longer sapphire on the SS. I too like the fact its supposed to be a more resilient screen

Is it true that the titanium and Hermés watches still come with the power adapter? If so that really makes a mockery out of Apple saying they removed it for environmental reasons.
