Can anyone answer my question about bloatware please?

Because i dont want my phone raped by carriers half-backed features and apps. Any oem that cares about his brand wouldnt allow this. Apple managed to reject them, so can others

People here really dont get the significance of 'out of the box'

Yea I have read two of his articles, both garbage. Doubt I would learn anything other than how to be a better Apple shill.

Well, if you want a good laugh you always can read his articles in his own site, I don't know what is better, his vitriol and hatred to anything that is an Apple competitor or his skills to write thousands of words with a lot of spinning, wrong technical things or just plain lies.

Or perhaps he writes just to please his audience on Appleinsider

Ding Ding Ding....I think we have a winner!
Go to AppleInsider....they have one very narrow POV.....differences of opinion are not permitted.....
One of the most pro Apple sites around.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I'm probably not technical enough to notice if my device is, or is not affected by bloatware and if I can't disable or delete an app I will never notice the difference anyway, a bit like; "If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound"? The answers here have been well thought out and given me something to think about and it hasn't broke out into an argument, thanks fellas.

My point being I guess is, does the worry about bloatware get blown a bit out of proportion?

My S5 or any of my pervious galaxy phones haven't been effected by so called bloatware either. I simply disable the apps I don't want and that's that.

I'd rather have something and then have the choice not to use it than boot have it at all. That's why I don't understand people moaning on about gimmicks. If you don't like it simple, don't use it. The biggest culprit on the S5 seems to be the Heart rate monitor. I don't understand how its hurting anyone. It's on the back out of the way.

No, because you can always install a stock Android 4.4 KitKat ROM with ota updates. Saved the HTC One m8 for me after I got enough of Sense 6.0.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I'm switching back to Android because I'm fed up with Apple ruining iOS! It's very buggy, you risk bricking your device when updating, or they release an update that breaks your cellular connection.

iOS is one gigantic mess now, if you think it's better then Android then fine, just remember OEMs create Android bloatware, which you can remove, iOS bloatware and bugs are entirely Apples, the manufactures, fault. And it wasn't until iOS 10, so this month, when you can remove some of the Apple bloatware.

I get annoyed spending several hundred pounds on the latest iPhone only to have graphics glitches and lag.

Is that music video, of which I'm not sure you can post on this site, some sort of personal joke to you? Seems like you made a pointless comment followed by a pointless Music video....???
It's entirely valid and on point, the Android ruin comment and ruin music video.

So it was a pointless comment and even more pointless video.

It is pointless to debate with anyone that so blindly believes in something, that rational thought has been taken out of the equation. It is futile, ergo I just ignore them. Suggest you do the same. ;)

Their are people on this forum that are like that, I even know someone personally who whenever you complain about anything not working with Apple it's ALWAYS YOUR FAULT. Never Apples bugs etc. Complete, total, utter blind brand loyalty in I compare to cult behaviour. Quite a very sad state for this word to be in when people defend vigorously a corporation who would step on anyone in a heartbeat to make money, as that's all they care about end off.

It popped up in the list at the bottom, I didn't notice the dates. .. the sentiments are still valid tho..
The only thing that is still valid is the divide between iOS and Android loyalists (which does seem to be getting smaller each year as both OS's continue to mature and, ironically, seem to be moving to a similar point of convergence.)

Like iOS doesn't have bloatware, apps you don't use but can't remove? Why is the Samsung scenario any different? Just disable the apps and don't use them!
In iOS I never use Game Center, Passbook, Reminders, Weather, News Stand, or Stocks. I don't need the Contacts app either, as the same thing is available within the phone app. If you don't use Safari, you can't delete that either. Tell me the difference between Android bloatware and Apple bloatware?

There are no apps on iOS that eat space and battery and other resources and do nothing else. Notes app even if you don't use it is not bloatware. Buy a windows laptop and you will find out what bloatware is.

I can buy a Windows laptop with no bloatware.

Incorrect. Every one of the 30+ apps that Apple includes in iOS eats up storage. Many eat up resources as well. For you to say otherwise is ignorance on your part.

2 years after KK, Android still has too much fragmentation. Not to mention, Samsung still has issues with bugs and post release support. The fact still remains, the Nexus is the best Android experience to get. It's not that Android is ruined pre say, but it's not as clean as iOS for me and I needed a phone now because of S7 issues, so I couldn't even bother to wait for the Pixel.

To be fair, show me an OS without bugs. Apple is notorious for bugs and screwing up phones after every point release. They tend to fix it very quickly, to prevent further issues, but that isn't of much comfort to those that screwed up their phones with the update.
Ask iphone 7 owners on Verizon how they are feeling.
