It isn't that the x3 does not include population...it does. The problem is that Booyah changed the population gift from 850 to a mere 175...so the x3 only gives you 525...just better than half of what you would have gotten normally before the x3 offer. Ugh, it sucks.
And just delete some of the wonders. Once you reach like 50 million coins, you will never need coins again. After 1 day with 75 stock exchanges, I had over 100 billion coins, and then I deleted all but one of the exchanges and changed back all building appearances. When I see all these towns with offices / stock exchanges for weeks, I wonder what the point is. Don't get trapped into thinking that that's what this game is about.

Been reading the past few pages to catch up on posts.... I'm bummed about the 3x not including the population! I don't really watch the #s like some of you, so I'm glad that some of you caught it.
I agree that this upgrade had better be epic.
Also, I just finished putting my town back to good (I had all offices and a farm of wonders) and now that I've bought up all my land and filled it all.... I want to completely re-do it. Except.... No room to move things!! Ahhhh!! Lol

Guys, it is not even a contest. Franchising is better in every respect. The main reason is the popularity attachment that comes with the franchised business + the income bonus. They WANT you to franchise. That is what makes the game exciting...building up a business over time, all over the world.

It just felt like a stroll through Target and eat popcorn kind of day I haven't even turned on my town yet..I need to charge this ipad and wanted to see "what's up" before I have to run back out again! hahaha! Glad all is well,except the population thing.. It's all good though..There's not much left they can wreak!!

Once you get above a certain point is it necessary to keep building a bunch of residential buildings?
During christmas I built about 13 gingerbread houses because they had the highest population for fairly cheap. Just curious if i even need them all anymore. They're taking up lots of space.
Although I do love having mainly elves running around my town it's quite funny!

i think it's enough to have 300million coins, i don't even know what i was saving for so i stopped. i changed my offices into their originals. now it looks like a real town cafes, restaurants, markets and everything i couldn't bring myself to delete the stock exchanges though. i hope booyah makes a storage for us so i won't have to

What is going on?!? I just turned on my page and was trying to send some coins to people but it won't let me "up" to New York.. I have my location services off and everything I always do.. But it won't work.. If I look at the miles in the check point area it says I'm 5000-6000 miles away from all of them.. Auuuuughhh!! I am really trying not to be mad at BooYah.. Is it over.. Are we not able to change our locations now!?!

We all knew this was coming. Booyah is learning to curb our tactics. For the sake of the game's longevity and sound business strategy, this makes perfect sense. For those who didn't move quick enough before the code patch, woe is you. This is the end of an era.
The only bit of good news...with this many active fixes on Booyah's part, clearly they don't want the game to die out...and this is the sort of stuff that precedes a massive update.
Let's wait and see what happens next.

Mixer Bar popularity is dropping quickly over 50% in 2 days. I own almost every item and just completed 42 acres the hard way without Stock exchanges, ect. I love my dream town but if it keeps up I'll be back down to where I started in the beginning. I Love to send gifts.

I started the famous store of Tiffany"s. In Ref ?550 I talked bt movie at Tiffany's.I have been trying to build up pop best I can .....any other IDEAS how I can build up popularity? Anyone please help me with Tiffany's and Lotton art gallery. There just growing little tadpoles but they have to start growing somewhere. .....Ant thoughts....... The anticipation is building for this update... With all their 'bug fixes' and patching the loop holes we've been using to our advantage.... I know this is my second post of the day about this. But I've checked my update/ap store like 5 times so far today. Lol
Makes you wonder what it's going to have/what's going to be new, doesn't it? Like, have they revamped the buck system, so they're trying to get a handle on the old franchising methods of helping people out with bucks? Have they done something new with biz popularity and franchising and areas from which you buy and franchise?

That's why I stacked with 4. I had all my shops set to their premium look but needed extra coins so set them up as offices I was just about at 1.7 mil when I blew it on land and Dominos.. I'm wondering if they're going to cap the stock exchanges at a certain amount.. Or maybe lower their percentage..

I just noticed when I was browsing business to possibly franchise from that the popularity of the businesses on the stat page of a town is different from the popularity of the same business when I click on it in the town itself. The stat page of a friend's town is showing the New York Times has a popularity of over 90,000 but when I click the business itself it said only over 55,000. Anyone know if this is normal? I am so confused as to what's going on? Which is the actual popularity of a business?
I have location turned off and set to NYC a few weeks ago. Just notice that sometimes it'd say I still have to use bucks to franchise a business in NYC. but if I tap the reload button on top left corner, the same NYC business would costs coins to franchaise...weird...

My thoughts on this...
I'm going to designate the "actual" popularity of a business as the number shown with the franchise cost (i.e. when you click on the business itself). The popularity numbers shown on the "stats" view reflect the values that apply only for a particular owner's stats (town popularity, income from jobs).
A business can have different popularity from one town to another. However, when a player buys/franchises it, the popularity they get comes from some form of calculation that uses the numbers from each instance of that business... globally. If this is true, then that means that it doesn't matter from who/where you franchise the business, as it will cost the same and come with the same popularity.
Unfortunately, it IS confusing and there's no way to know what the "actual" popularity is for our own businesses without searching for it in another town.
