Which did you sell? And where? And how much? I'm now tempted to put my old 12.9 up for sale!
I sold my 1st gen 12.9" 128GB 4G on the local German eBay. I don't know how to translate it, it's like craigslist, not sure if it exists in your country as well? 650 € I got for it. But heck, just put it on ebay, but of course you'll have the fees.

I purchased the 1st gen 12.9 pro a year ago and have used it as my primary school device and now primary computer. Just last week I was offered a 2nd hand iPad pro 9.7 32GB LTE model for 300.. I could not pass on that. I was already planning to get the 2017 iPad, so this was just perfect timing. I use them both for different tasks and work great! The 9.7 will mainly be a couch device or to watch videos on flights..

I would not purchase them new, together.. So, I think I will upgrade every other generation for each model..

Having a 12.9, I much prefer having a mini 7.9 as a secondary casual consumption device. But if and when the 7.9s are no more then I'll have to get the smallest iPad available. But I'm not sure if the lower model 9.7 will cut it for me since I am very fond of the quad speakers and Apple Pencil for occasional sketching so I may get the 10.5 since it's barely bigger. But let me be clear I really find 9.7 too big for very casual consumption and 10.5 is obviously no better. But with 12.9s being much much too big to use very casually (think using one handed while walking around the house, e-reading, etc), if Apple ends the 7.9 I'll have no better choice. Already getting bitter thinking about that.

This morning I'm in "sensible" mode. Not buying both. Sticking with my 10.5 (which I love) and "old" 12.9. This afternoon? It may all change!

Likewise. I'm also feeling more comfortable with my decision to stick with that same combination. I think that I'm actually enjoying the 10.5" size more and more due to its portability and feeling comfortable holding it. I had decided not to pick up my 12.9 for a couple of nights and then picked it up last night and the size and weight were more noticeable. I know that I get used to it again, the more that I use it, but it made me realise that I am actually happy with this combination for now. I believe that I'll still upgrade my 12.9 next time from gen 1 to gen 3, but now I feel happier to wait. The 10.5" really is a great iPad.

Yes, I want to.
No, because my iPad Air 2 is still 100% perfect, snappy, and works great with iOS 11 .. I have no reason to upgrade if the device is operating just fine.
You saw into the future? You’ve gotten to use iOS 11 full release? Jealous.

What are the lotto numbers this next week?

Original plan was to replace my 9.7 with the 10.5 and keep my first gen 12.9 as my drawing tablet

As some reviews have stated, once you've experienced ProMotion, you really can't un-notice it. For Apple Pencil users, the latency improvement is incredible.

So I sold both on eBay and upgraded both models. Unexpected bonus of the 12.9. It's noticably lighter. Much easier to hold for long periods of time IMO.

I'm doing something similar. Keeping my old Pro 9.7 and only ordered the Pro 12.9 (I don't have a 12.9 yet). It's not scheduled to arrive until around 2nd week of July.

Hoping I don't get spoiled by ProMotion so I can just keep the funds and channel them towards the next 10.5 refresh. :p

I have a 12.9 128 GB cellular first gen and was all set to pick up a second gen 12.9 256 GB cellular. Then I got to thinking about it and had decided to pick up a 10.5 for a more portable device since I travel with my laptop and can't get away from it. The night before I was going to pick it up, my boss heard about some scaling issues with certain apps on the 10.5 screens and and wanted me to test our companies apps on it so my company bought me a 10.5 64 GB wifi for development and testing. After using it for a couple of days I absolutely love the size when on the go - but miss the screen size for certain things. So now I'm re-re-thinking about getting a 12.9 anyway, letting my son have my first gen and having both.

The Hard part for me is patience. I plan on purchasing both models with the 10.5 and 12.9 Wi-Fi, but I will likely wait until late summer/early September until they can start receiving more 12.9 iPads in stock, as I will
Purchase both at the same time. At Least this will give me time to something Play with while I wait until I can receive the iPhone 8, which Who knows how long that will take with all the intensity surrounding that.

You hit the jackpot. Get the 12.9 if you already have a 10.5 for work.

Another spin on this is me already owning the prior 12.9 and I could not justify spending that much and then keeping the newer Pro I tried. Just not enough of an upgrade for the additional money spent.

When I learned BB was giving $150 for my Mini 2 I could have put it to the new 12.9 Pro BUT still not worth it. So I put it towards the 10.5. Now that was an additionally savings and I have a smaller compact Pro as well with nice tech. :)

Just received an iPad Pro 2 12.9 - 256gb wifi. My first wifi model in years, but since this will be my home iPad, it didn't make sense to purchase the cellular version. I also got the 10.5 inch - this as cellular as I use it to and from work and when traveling. I think the 120 Hz screen is even more impressive on the 12.9 inch pro compared to the 10.5.

The weight on the 12.9 is really nicer compared to last years, but the difference is also bigger for me, as I had the cellular version bought in autumn 2015.

I don't think there is any problem owning both, although some might think it's overkill. If you have the need and the money I say go for it.

This is my plan as well. Currently on a 9.7" Pro and going to add a new 12.9" to the setup. Just need to avoid the store. Was playing with the 10.5" for a bit and the larger screen + thinner bezels looks gorgeous. Suddenly makes the 9.7" look outdated.
