Yes, I’m planning to get the 15 Plus in pink. With my aging eyes I will welcome the larger screen, and I take mainly simple snapshots and videos of my dogs, so the Plus should be plenty for me. It will be an improvement over the XS I have now, which other than the dying battery still meets my needs. And I’ll probably upgrade my AW7 to a pink AW9. I had hoped for a hotter pink but apparently that’s just not In the cards.

I actually just noticed the 15 now has 2x zoom, and I actually think I like the yellow more than the natural titanium. The plus is also still lighter than the pro. You may be on to something here…

I’m not really a fan of any of the pro colors. I’d likely go with white. At least the pink plus kinda matches my Air 5, although it looks like it may be slightly different. So my pros list:

15+ pros

Lighter than my 14 pro
$300 cheaper than the pro max
longer battery life than my 14 pro
like the color

15 pro max pros

more camera features (not that I even use the ones I have now)
always on display (which is currently off on my pro, but I could use in nightstand mode)
pro motion (which I don’t really notice much on the phone)
more battery life (which isn’t a huge factor because my battery rarely runs out)

So that’s where I am - still undecided. 🤪

I'm planning to get the iPhone 15 Plus if the battery is large enough.

Does anyone know how many mAh the iPhone 15 Plus Battery have? I was hoping that maybe someone had a chance to get this information yesterday in Cupertino. Are the rumors about larger batteries true after all?

Because I can't deal with "beyond all-day battery life", I want some hard values. Several websites from India are already posting some mAh values, but I asssume that's mostly click-bait.

A lot of the reason I want a larger screen is because of my eyes as well - just want to increase my text size and not have only one sentence showing on my screen. Lol

I take fairly simple pics of grandkids and stuff, so I know the camera is plenty, although I HAVE used the macro a fair amount to take recipe photos - that’s the only thing I think I’d miss about the pro camera.

I also love that pink watch! I’m not usually a pink gal, but I think it’s a really pretty color. I have the stainless AW8, so I’ll be skipping a watch upgrade this year, although I have considered buying a non-cellular one for sleep tracking. If so, it’ll be a few months down the road.

Honestly I was until I saw the colors. I like the natural titanium over any of the regular iPhone colors. To me that is worth the $100 premium.
I am assuming you are aware, the back color won’t be visible with the case, right?

Yes, I plan to replace my 8+ with it. I hope it is seven “numbers” better!
If you’re moving from an 8+, you’re going to love the 14/15 plus. It’s the only phone that got me to break from my trusty 8+ in the past many years - and I tried them ALL.

Well from plus to pro max, the price difference is $300. Of course you get some other features with that, but it’s not just $100 difference.
Well, in all fairness if one equalizes the onboard storage capacity, it’s really on $200.. yes, one can get the plus for less overall with only 128GB storage (which for me, for most things is fine) but the pro max starts now at double that storage at 256GB

So, technically for the pro max one is paying $200 for 8 GM RAM, much better camera (not that valuable to me personally) 120hz pro motion screen, titanium, action button, A17 chip, 3nm chip-set (probably better battery life than reported by apple IMHO),, and a couple other things.

You are correct. I didn’t make that clear, but definitely something to consider when comparing the two. I don’t personally need the additional storage, and wouldn’t pay to add it, so I’m just looking at base price overall.

But when you consider the list of improvements going to the pro, the price difference is justified for many. I don’t personally NEED those things, but it doesn’t mean I won’t wind up going with the pro max. ;-p

I’m still on the fence.

The plus is much ligther, it feels like a normal sized phone and the battery is crazy good! I though photos before were okay seems like camera upgrades for the 15 plus will be same now as 14 pro? Does anyone know this?
i DO NOT like the plus colors tho!

Camera won’t be the same as 14 pro because it will still be missing some of the zoom/macro features, etc., but it seems like it will have some other improvements.

After looking at the images of the actual phones after the announcement yesterday, I don’t love the colors as much as I thought - not sure what I’m gonna do yet.

Please note that the 2x is digital zoom on the regular 15's. There's no telephoto camera. you can take your current iPhone and pinch it to a higher digital zoom, this is basically the 2x digital zoom and slapping a button on there for easier access for you.

I'm not sure about color either... I usually go for black, but it seems like a shame not to take advantage of the color-infused glass (or whatever). Maybe blue? Idk, I don't love the colors for some reason.

Where does it say that? I’ve never seen them advertise something like “2x telephoto” and having it be some slight of hand, making a button for digital zoom only?

This is what is says on apples tech site for the iphone 15 and 15 plus

  • 2x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out; 4x optical zoom range
  • Digital zoom up to 10x

Also take into consideration that you will likely get longer iOS support with the pro.

I plan on keeping with my Iphone 13 until next year, then upgrading to the 16. I'll skip over the 14 and the 15.

New 15 have optical 2x.

I don’t like the 15 colours, and love the Pro colours!?! But just can’t stomach the Pro prices.

Might just have to go black 15 Plus, and get a nice case as normally do anyway

I think I'm going for the 15+ too, but yeah, the colors seem washed out, like they faded. But I need to see them in person and also feel them both in my hand.

15PM looks cool, but I'd be worried about the weight. The blue 15PM will sell like crazy.

Not quite accurate. What they're doing is what the 14 Pros offered with the 2x zoom - it captures using the full main lens and then crops it down for 2x equivalent. The only time the telephoto lens on the newer phones engages is with 3x or higher.

I will be doing 15+ this year. I sold my 14P before the event and after reading and seeing the features, the 15+ is enough for what I need it for. Plus, I will have more screen real estate.

From the rumors, the 16 Pro models are supposed to be packing real heat.

Oh, and I am going with the color black.
