Ultimately, what matters to you is the most important thing.

But iOS's library of apps is superior than Android. That's a fact.

If you want to say that having the most apps then yes the Apple App Store is superior, but like I said I have not found an app that I use that I can't get on android. The last time I checked you can't go into the Apple App Store and download a new keyboard if you don't like the stock one. Which I really don't like the iOS keyboard. Sure the App Store has all the games, and whatever else apps that are only there for entertainment. For production and need on a smartphone I believe both app stores do just as well. I like more customization so I like Play Store better. You like games I guess so you like the App Store. Over all I find them very even but very different.

The Google play store has as many apps as Apple's app store. Apple's game selection is better at the moment.

How is it better? Name one app that is essential to you for your iPhone to work that the App Store has that the Google play store does not.

For me personally, it is a good google chat app. The ones for the iphone are atrocious. Push seems to work about 50/50, and the one app that does it best is a google voice app that constantly ask you to set up a google voice number, so it always has a badge showing 1 notification.

That is the opposite of what you said though haha.

Please read again.

You edited you post I do believe. I will give you that. I said the games were better from the beginning, but again who cares? Games to me are not essential for my smartphone to be useable. If you guys think they are then yes the App Store is better, but I don't care about games.

How did I edit my post when it's quoted in your post? Stop being so freaking defensive. You misread.

Games are also not essential for my smartphone needs either. But iOS still has more exclusive big name games and games the release first. Not that I care much, I'm just calling it like it is. I'm still satisfied with the game selection on Android. I'm currently addicted to NFS Most Wanted.

Ok sorry I really did not see the gaming part the first time you posted. I guess if you do like games then the App store is for you, but I am not sure that games alone the App Store better.

I would believe that apps run betten in general on iOS since they are more optimized(less devices). And also that java layer on Android doesnt help either.

There are three things that stop me from switching to Android right now and they are iMessage, iTunes, and Tweetlogix. Everything else I can pretty much do without.

Imessage I thought would be the hardest, but I found this app called groupme and it works across all mobile OS. How ever you use imessage with could just download the app. With iTunes you can just download the Google play music app and all your iTunes music and play list are put in the cloud to be played from anywhere. You can download whatever songs you want to be played offline. Now with the Tweetlogix I have no idea what that is, so I have no suvgestions for you in that.

To be quite honest, iTunes isn't an issue at all. I still use it to purchase music and have all my music synced over iTunes match (on my iPhone 5, iMac and iPad mini). I bought a couple songs yesterday on my iPhone - a few minutes later, viola - they were right there on my Nexus 4.

Just download the Play Music manager to your computer, make sure you have iTunes set to auto download anything you buy from another device, and set the iTunes folder as the one to pull music from. Then when you buy a song:

-Song bought on iPhone > downloads automatically to iMac > goes into iTunes music folder (I have it set to auto manage) > Music Manager sees a new song in the iTunes folder > uploads it to the Play Music cloud > ready to play on nexus 4.

Its pretty sweet.

As for iMessage, that is my biggest issue atm. I have radiant barrier in my house and despite the excellent cell reception outside, I get pretty spotty weak reception inside. I'm researching some boosters to fix the problem, but texting over wifi through iMessage was a big deal for me. You can pretty much mimic any of the other iMessage features with other apps like Mighty Text (allows you to text from any computer).

Having never used Tweetlogix, I can't say for sure - but Falcon Pro is a great twitter client for Android. The widget can be used as a live twitter feed itself. I also like the layout and design.

Anyways - take it from a longtime Apple/iOS user (and someone who still prefers iOS to Android) - the switch isn't all that difficult, and I find it quite rewarding using both platforms side-by-side. Best of both worlds!

I am finding more and more each day I have my note 2 I don't need my iphone 5 anymore. I do still have my iPad 2 which gives me taste of iOS. But i like you I do like having both OS to play around with.

As an owner of a GS3, and a Nexus 4. I find myself really missing the iPhone as of late. The simplicity, and ease of use of iOS on my iPad has me missing this on my phone. I think an LTE enabled Nexus 4 that didn't get hot as the sun every time I either charge, or run basic apps would be perfect. I never thought I'd have withdrawals after all this, but I really think iOS is a truly great mobile OS. Can't wait for a mid summer iPhone 5 launch!

Nope.

I have to say i am constantly discovering new and cool things to do with this phone. I also love being able to change the way it looks with wallpaper and widgets without having to stuff apps on to backpages. Keeps the phone feeling and looking fresh to me.

Agreed, this post was made after spending an entire weekend surrounded by iPhone users. It had me wanting the iPhone again for a bit, but then I came back to reality. I have an S3, but will be holding out for the Note3 in the fall.

Not just games. Video, music, art, education, photography. I can't find anything on Google Play that offers what iTunes U does, nor an app that works as well as iMovie, but as a musician, the dealbreaker is that you don't even have the option to plug in an instrument to any android phone or tablet, therefore you're missing out on a whole world of amp modeling, effects, and recording apps.

For every good android app that does not exist on iOS I can name 5 that don't exist for android.

----------

I don't agree. Android apps are spread out over a much wider application area. On ios I can't even find app that tallies my in/out call duration. Don't even dream of finding apps to automate your phone like auto-send sms/email when an event happens, call blocking/management etc.

What you're talking about is functionality. If you want to make the argument that iOS lacks a lot of functionality, that's fine, but try to even name a dozen must have android apps that don't exist on iOS.

For me having iTunes U, Garage Band, Messages, SF Volt, Amplitube, Animoog, is more important than some geek features like creating an email when an event happens, whatever the heck that's supposed to be for.
