Screen protectors giving Halo effect for some reason on the new SE. Some not compatible.

is this specific to SE tho?

I haven't had a 4.7 iPhone before, but it seems like from lots of amazon photos that its halo effect on 6/7/8 as well

Appreciate these comments, I have a friend who I purchased SE2 for that will be moving from SE.. her biggest complaint I think will be the screen size, she didn't want a larger phone. So I really appreciate your comments so I can mention to her that others feel the same. Also the reason Apple switched from the plastic earpods case to paper is that they are going with the 100% recyclable packaging as a big push company wide. It is one of the things they mention at every product launch these days. I agree, the previous case was such a nice touch though! No idea how many kept them in the case after use or not but I too did the same as you.
Just as an addendum: I did try this morning to wrap the lightning earpods into the plastic case that originally came with the 3.5mm earpods. The wire lengths line up correctly, but the lightning plug is significantly wider than the original headphone plug, and does not fit nicely into the track. It's possible that one could wedge it in, but I can't confirm that as I opted not to force it.

Grr why does FedEx even offer an option of waiving the signature requirement if they ignore it and still leave a door tag?!

Mine arrived today - just finished setting it up. First impressions - LOVE the size. Of course, that's just holding it in my hand - haven't used it to do much at this point. I can't believe how much smaller it is side by side with my 11, but I love it in principle - we'll see if I feel the same in practice. I've had a large phone for a long time.

Remember your base car analogy post and you will be fine. Use the mini 5 for most things.

I held my grandma’s iPhone 7 just now and it fits perfect in my tiny hands. I don’t know. now I’m really tempted to get the SE and sell my Pro. Still contemplating.
Bricks should be used for building houses, not carrying around in your purse of holding up to your ear to listen. 😃😃

That was a good analogy I think, although I don't actually have a base model car, but I don't have a limited either. :)

I ordered mine from Walmart (for Verizon). I got this strange email yesterday that said...

“In reviewing our records, we incorrectly notified you that the iPhone SE 2nd Gen preorder had shipped. In fact, it was only the SIM card portion of the item. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

The phone itself is still on track to go out next week on (date) as originally planned. You will receive another email once it ships, and can always track the latest progress by logging into your order.“

I chatted with Walmart online and they said everything is normal, even though I never received that notification they mentioned). I don’t understand receiving a separate SIM card, though. I’ve ordered iPhones from Apple and Verizon in the past but never received a separate SIM card.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would be lying if I didn’t say I was contemplating as well. Love my 11 Pro, but when it comes down to it, I don’t use my phone for anything more than music, texting, phone calls and social media with the occasional web browsing. I do like experimenting with the camera too. lesson learned though, next upgrade that I’m doing, definitely going for the SE or 11 tier and not the higher end model.
Yep, agreed. I would have been just as happy with the iPhone 11 and AirPods Pro for the money I paid for just my 11 Pro, and it’s the 5.8 version not the MAX.

Sounds like they do that for security reasons. Never heard of that before.

my saddle brown just came !

LOVE IT, as long as I don't get obsessive about cases (I might, they are soooo cheap for the 4.7" size, maybe theres a silicone one in my future too but no real rush) I'm set with this and my clear TPU (at least until it yellows in time, then I may buy another cheap one)

I missed having a leather option, since I came from XR

The bottom looks really fresh to me

How do you feel about the SE coming from the Xʀ? I’m curious.

battery life isn't as good but my hand is loving it. and Im really enjoying touchID again and no notch. no curved corners. I love that it still runs iOS, the photos are really good, the build quality is perfect as is the screen the earpiece everything. The panel quality is fantastic too, side by side with my XR at 100% brightness auto brightness off, its not even a downgrade in colors. The tint is a bit warmer but its just as bright. and both are 326ppi P3 screens so I would expect similar results, assuming both were good units which they are.

I picked a 128GB for $250 with AT&T financing, and couldn't be happier all things considered.

Wont sell my XR until around the time I get another X-style phone, but til then it will likely still be good as a mini tablet for YouTube around the house, etc. and its jailbroken to tinker with which I always need to have access to in some capacity.

Plus now I have two modern iPhones, could always make one a beta-loading device. Who knows but not in a rush to offload it, even if it ends up being put aside as the daily driver (I suspect this could happen, I was ready to use a new device, that feels different experience wise because of form and what it offers. 4.7" is pretty much brand new to me lol never went down this path. I could see why this phone bores others who have had many 4.7 iPhones but I’m not one of those !

edit- sold the XR and going to see what happens with the 12 series later this year, etc. I can totally use SE2 for the rest of the year, at minimum.

Yeah, and I held my grandma’s 7 earlier today and forgot how perfectly that size fits. I should’ve gotten the 11 as well, and had extra to splurge on the airpod pros. Idk if it’ll be even worth it to go through the process of selling the pro now.

i didn’t even think about it but SE+11 comes in the same price as an 11 pro max. Ouch.

Sounds good. The main difference, I think, if we say that the design is preference, is battery life.

It’s definitely more comfortable to use, irrespective of what we like. It’s just more comfortable. Barring the design, they’re pretty similar in specs. The only thing that might leave some heavy users disappointed is battery life, especially on LTE and high brightness, where it’s a lot worse than the Xʀ or the 11 series.

If you haven’t used the design before, it definitely can feel new, and I think, more enjoyable. I agree with you on that.

I like the design, I used a 6s and a 7+ before the Xʀ, and I liked them both. Traded the 7+ on iOS 10 for the Xʀ, and I’ll say that I would have been happy with the 7+ too. I like my devices, regardless of how old they are, if and when they work well. I’d be able to use any iPhone that’s on a new enough iOS version - and its original - (say, the 7 on iOS 10 onwards) as long as my main apps - which aren’t many - are supported.

Yeah I went 7+ to xr too

and felt the same when I traded it in. but it was way better battery wise on iOS 10 than 11.
Could’ve kept going with the 7+ but was ready for an LED x style and plus sized scaling on it
It’s fun to hop around I suppose.

My xr is still a very competent phone I’m happy to have it

Ya you can literally purchase 2 128gb SEs and still cheaper than one 64gb 11 Pro lol crazy
That’s insane. Or, you can get a 128GB SE and a 128GB iPad Pro 11” for the same money as my 256GB iPhone 11 Pro. Kinda crazy.

The XR and 11 are some of the best values, along with the new SE, that Apple has offered in the iPhone lineup in a long time.

Picked up mine from FedEx tonight and set up without a hitch. Fast like people mentioned but definitely smaller.

Yikes, did not think of it that way. I’ll be honest, the main reason I grabbed the Pro was due to being used to the X form factor and although the 11 was such a great deal, I don’t know how I would’ve liked that bigger screen having small hands already. I love the battery life on the pro, but will keep an eye out on if Verizon has any deals on the SE and may snag one then.

I got a $10 white silicone for 8 on the way from ebay to match my white SE2

has free returns so if its fake or beat up ill send it back, but im hopeful cause it worked Out well with this saddle brown (albeit a different seller, a high rating one with good feedback too)

I think im set on cases for a while now :D

Saddle brown, cheap Walmart TPU, and white silicone.

I'm waiting on my cheap Amazon silicone to come in because my Loopy will take several weeks due to shipping delays. I love the size of the phone, but I need a little more substance to feel like it's secure in my hand. It makes me nervous.
