iPhone SE (2016) Anyone get their new SE yet?

Got my SE 2020 white/128 from Walmart today, after ordering it April 27, 2020. Seems OK. It came with a SIM card (it's Verizon) but I don't know why. It was only available as an upgrade to an existing line; I transferred the old SIM card from the original SE and it seems to work fine. It is taking forever to re-download all the apps, but that's probably part of the process...

Moving up from the original SE, the size may be an adjustment. It's bigger to fit into a pants pocket, but easier to read and type. Jury's still out, but nothing really negative at this point.

Do you know how long until we can pay off the phone once you upgrade? I have an 11 Pro but have an upgrade available. tempted to do Walmart's offer and keep the SE as a backup phone or to switch back and forth

Just saw one at Home Depot. I must say it’s striking. Black front on red back. I would buy one!

if I recall correctly, wasn’t the iPhone 8 4.7/5.5 offered with a black front bezel and Product red back. If that is the case, then what you saw very well could have been an iPhone 8 versus an SE2.

Same happened to me on sim card. Does your account reflect the new phone yet? Do we have to call verizon and let them know?

Here's a quote from the Verizon contract for my new 2020 SE: "You may pay the total amount due under this Device Payment Agreement at any time before the final scheduled payment is due, and You will not have to pay a penalty."

I just looked at my Verizon account after loading the old data and SIM card onto the new SE.

I didn't call them. The new phone (with the same number as the old one) is shown on the account along with the payment details. The old phone isn't shown; I did erase the old phone and reset it to "new" status.

What do you do with the old phone? At most it seems to be worth about $20. It's still like new...

Thanks Tom! Do they make you pay it on the bill do you know, or can you use a credit card? I have not financed a device yet aside from the free iPhone 7 promo that verizon did years ago.

So I should just leave it alone and let it auto do it's thing?

Ordered my new iPhone SE 2020 for Verizon through Walmart. The phone came with no Sim Card so I have a few questions.

Usually these phones come with a sim card so I just turn it on and activate but this time I transferred my sim card from my old iPhone 7 to the SE. Is that bad?

Is there a newer Sim Card I should request from Verizon that will work better with this new model? Don't want to limit the phone.

Also, on my account, the new iPhone SE does not show up. The phone works as should/says Verizon up top but my device payment plan for this new phone and correct description is missing. Should I just give it a few days to update on their end?

Mine took forever to download the apps that were on my previous SE. Maybe about 50 of them; probably about 12 hours.

I reused my original SIM card from the 2016 SE. I still have my original phone number in the new phone.

When I couldn't make or receive a call, I thought maybe that was the problem. Turns out it had, in the description of the Verizon tech support person, "stuck" during its activation process. So I had to call *611 and get them to activate it for me. Since then, no more problems.

Sounds like you have the opposite problem: mine didn't work, but was listed on their site. If it has been more than a day or two, you'd probably want to call them.

Every local TMobile store to me is sold out. Clearly people are buying the SE like mad. I think a lot of people used their “free” stimulus money on it because it was so easy to justify.

Either that or people need something affordable and this was the best option.

Like Mad? Not sure about that. I’d say it’s more about a geographic location of where someone would be purchasing the iPhone SE. I live in a population of over 184,000 people, and with a quick glance, I’m showing the SE is in stock with all models at three major carriers within 25 miles of my residence. Now, let’s factor ‘in store stock‘ is Variable from ‘online stock’ accordingly.

I think what you’re partially what you’re seeing, is those who may be ‘tech hoarding‘ (Think eBay sellers), and they’re re-selling the phones online. Because as it stands right now in the economic recession, I highly doubt consumers are flocking to the SE to spend their stimulus money. I think this phone is a great choice for those wanting a simple upgrade, but I doubt it’s the ‘target‘ phone that everybody’s clamoring over. Long term, this phone will sell very well, but it certainly is in stock in my region, which is fairly populated.

Los Angeles Metro, population 12 million, 64GB seems readily available but the 128GB and 256GB are out of stock at AT&T within 200 miles from my location.

I don't think ebay sellers are an issue. Rather, production's probably still not at normal capacity due to COVID-19. Besides, I recall there being a similar stock shortage when the iPhone SE was released back in 2016 during the first couple of months.

I got my white 64GB the other night but it's already in a box going back to Apple. I was thrilled with it until I noticed two gouges/nicks on the top of the device. I considered keeping it but out of principle I'm not paying for any "new" item that has scratches or marks on it unless I've done them myself. The phone was just taken out of the box and never touched any hard surface. Ugh. Currently waiting for the refund, but I've already ordered another unit- hoping for good luck with this one and a speedy delivery.

Yes it’s a tech21 case. Usually my favorite but the power button on this one sucks :( waiting for the red leather in the mail.
